Okay, so I thought I couldn't twerk because my ass is all muscle too (I do a lot of weight lifting, so literally it's like at least 95% muscle--I didn't have an ass before the weight lifting).
I spent a lot of time practicing and one day I finally had a breakthrough. I think it was to just *relax* my ass muscles instead of trying to twerk with them. I started in the typical all fours twerking pose (with my feet kinda together). I would pop my lower back and just focus on relaxing everything else and letting the booty shake. Then a girl at my club told me "it's all in the knees" and I thought she was nuts, but then I tried twerking just by sliding my knees in & out (little movements) on the floor and my ass would shake to follow them. Much easier. Once you get the hang of it on the floor, it's easier to do it standing too I think.
I don't know if that helps at all--it's hard to explain! But honestly, mine is all muscle too and I was able to get the hang of it just by relaxing.

I can already do the thing where I jiggle my ass by moving my knees in and out; it's one of my favorite moves actually. One of the older girls at the club taught me my second week and I've used it ever since; they're all really helpful and sweet at my club. At the moment I can only do it standing but now I want to try it on my knees. And I'll definitely be checking out that video and practicing the stuff on there. I can twerk pretty well, I just can't do those "extreme twerk team" type moves, if that makes sense. I do tend to be tense while dancing, so I'll try relaxing my muscles and see if it helps, because I really want to impr. Thanks!

I already did that before starting because I was nervoud. Made a whole playlist, practiced in the mirror and on camera, and I had some friends watch me practice too. I can do the movements just fine, my butt just doesn't have enough fat for it to actually look the same as the other girls even when I do the same moves. But I'm gonna try what tesla suggested and try relaxing my body while I twerk and see if it helps.

Do you work out? If so, avoid exercises that work those muscles. If you were to gain a bit of weight, where would it gather? When you're dancing, avoid moving up and down too much coz that would work those muscles too. If all else fails, just do moves that involve contracting the muscles rather than trying to twerk. Contracting one buttock after the other looks good and is easier if you're muscular.

Honestly I have almost no fat on my booty either and it took me a while to figure out how to twerk it. The relaxing thing really worked for me though, it just takes a little while to get the hang of. Try relaxing and instead of twerking take your hand, grab your booty, and shake your hand and try to relax your ass enough to allow your hand to jiggle it. That might help you get the feeling of how to relax it. Once you've got that down, try relaxing it in the same way while you twerk? You'll get it!

It would be interesting to see what your butt looks like/how you're moving it to give the best feedback.
I have a petite booty and I'm about an intermediate twerker. I knew a girl whose butt was slightly larger than mine but still relatively small and petite. Somehow she was able to make what little fat she did have move but I think she had years of practice.
I'd say isolating the area. Lots of practice. And maybe a little bit of wine or beer to help relax/loosen up those areas.

I don't usually exercise, but on the rare occasion that I do, I just do crunches or HIIT aerobic exercises. But that's very, very rare. I actually have gained weight recently (took a break from dancing and the lack of physical activity combined with free time to eat junk food has not gone well) and it gathers on my breasts and thighs. Luckily this means my butt is now a little more fat than usual, but I have to lose the weight because I can't be too pudgy. But yeah I've also been doing moves where I rely on moving the muscles since it's easier and looks better. Cheek isolation (what you described) was the first thing I started doing at work before the other girls taught me any other moves.

I have a video of me dancing at work but it's mainly me doing spins and it's kind of dark so it's hard to see. I do show myself twerking a little bit in the video though, but I'll take a picture of me in my work outfit tomorrow so you can at least see my shape.
Like, I'm not a bad twerker by any means. Out of all the girls at my current club I'm in the top 35% when it comes to twerking, but I work at a dive so that's not saying much. I'm comparing my skills to girls at the top urban clubs in Atlanta, which is where I want to work in a few years. Basically I'm being really strict on myself so I can make it in a more competitive environment.
Also drinking isn't an option for me because of a medical condition, but I have been doing a lot of practicing and I plan on doing daily practices until I'm where I want to be.
