Returning to PSO Work After a Break. Can't Tell If I'm Nervous? Can Anyone Relate?
Hello Everyone,
I'm new here; I decided to join after searching for a community of understanding, hard-working people.
A while back, I started working as a PSO on a popular online platform. I was fortunate, did well and enjoyed the work. There were a few personal reasons that I stopped working this job, mainly due to the fact that I was no longer living alone, and was living with a family member who could not find out about my work as a PSO, (I am not ashamed of anything, I just choose my battles when dealing with stubborn people).
A few weeks ago, I logged into my account for the first time in over a year. I took one call with a former regular, and called it a night. A few weeks have gone by, and for some reason I'm nervous to log on and start accepting calls. All of my feedback, etc. is still on the profile but for some reason I can't shake these little nerves. I really enjoyed the work previously, and I think that once I get back into the swing of things, I'll be fine.
Does anyone else relate to this? How did you feel once you got back into a rhythm? Any words of encouragement?
Thank you in advance!

I don't have any real words of encouragement but to tell you you're not alone. I have been doing PSO work pretty much daily for three years now and I STILL get nervous almost every time I answer a call. The anxiousness does seem to get worse if I go for several days without logging in or taking a call. So I guess my best advice that I am trying to follow myself is to not go too many days without taking calls.

I always take breaks to work on other things with phone sex. When I return, I always get nervous but I find that the more calls I take, the more I loosen up and keep the phone turned on. I also think to myself that I'm blessed to be able to do really well in a field where the phone doesn't always ring....and when it does, the task of keeping the customers on the phone comes into play. So knowing that I have the power to do that with most of the customers and earn money while working on other things is enough for me to turn on the phone.
I also tend to work at a time when there is peak demand so I will get calls back to back. That most certainly loosens me up. Tonight was one of those nights and I'm currently killing it.
