Chaturbate: Banning , Banned , Placement , Token Sites
I'm curious to know what you people think of it and the way things are set up right now. Let's have an honest conversation about it :)
If it's necessary to move this to Verified, mods please do.
Ok so what's the deal all about?
From the beginning of Chaturbate’s inception, the placement algorithm favors ONLY streamers with the most viewers in their room, regardless of their customer satisfaction feedback, their stream quality (Both on Audio and Video), their connection quality and other metrics that could be used to Differentiate legit streamers from those who probably aren’t.
All that mattered was that the most viewers a girl had in her room, the higher her placement was, which turned the site into a disastrous popularity contest.
As such, we have seen disastrous consequences such as models using bots to boost their placement and not only slowing down the site’s performance, but also putting newcomer streamers in an uncomfortable position where it’s harder for them to gain traction regardless of their stream and content quality because it makes it VERY difficult for viewers to find them.
Sure, the site has taken some measurements to stop this and make things better, such as integrating OBS support on the site and changing the algorithm so ONLY those accounts with tokens would weight into the site’s placement. However, this is still a popularity contest and things haven’t changed much, sadly. In fact, it’s still quite difficult for newcomers to gain traction precisely because their rooms are buried and even as of today, there are many (Unconfirmed, but rumor has it) streamers who use black hat (Hacking) methods to inject bots with tokens somehow. It’s totally not ok that a site operates like this and it only hurts the streamers.
Clearly things have to change. As it stands the site is the 5th largest adult site on the internet and the largest campsite, traffic wise, according to SimilarWeb’s analytics. Data that seems similar to what Alexa’s ranking shows. This puts it above Streamate (Debatable due to its infinite whitelabels) and MyFreeCams, so if you ask me, being the most popular camsite on the internet means they should also be as transparent as possible with the streamers and try to make sure everyone has a fair chance to grow their brand on the site.
Sure, at the end of the day what matters the most is the streamer's hustle, but don't you all think there's a considerable room for improvement here?
Let's discuss.
Re: [Discussion] What are your thoughts on Chaturbate's current placement algorithm?
This would probably go alot better if you startout with a post that details the current algorithm and how you feel about it. I know there have been some changes but I honestly dont know what they are? Apparently even people working on CB on the regular don't know how placement works. Get that part out of the way and then you get a conversation going. :)

I assumed we all had honest discussions here.

Which is why I love StripperWeb <3
Re: [Discussion] What are your thoughts on Chaturbate's current placement algorithm?
I honestly love Chaturbate's ranking system. I don't have very many followers nor do I have a consistent schedule, but most times when I go on I get put to the top. I do couples shows, streaming in HD with pro lighting and we try to have fun. When I first opened My account, we had newbie status and were placed at the top and when I browse I see new accounts with newbie status up at the top too.
I wont lie, I am surprised at some of the top placements and amazed that some people broadcast with such crappy camera and audio quality yet still get viewers, but I think it's more than fair, especially with the hourly bonus they give to the top room opposed to a monthly prize to one earner.
I hate MyFreeCams scamscore, and I'm glad that with Chaturbate My account doesn't fall into a rabbit hole of damaged rank just because I went online on a slow day or when they're having unadvertised site repair (this happened to Me with MFC, My scamscore dropped, and once it's dropped you're pretty fucked and it's hard to build it back up). You can go on chaturbate and be on chaturbate as long as you want without repercussions. On the other hand, you can also be off chaturbate for weeks or months without a negative repercussion on your placement as long as your next show is heavily advertised and fun to watch.
I've never heard of people having fake viewers so I really can't say anything about that.
I will say I have a problem with the number of people who openly drink??? And show the bottles?? A lot of top models do it and I click report every time. I'm sure they penalize smaller models or those just starting out, but their popular/top models never get in trouble for drinking even though theres thousands of people seeing them do it.
Re: [Discussion] What are your thoughts on Chaturbate's current placement algorithm?
Doesn't matter how many bots pushing you, if you are boring paying members won't stay around.
CB does a lot of screen shots, so your the room has to pop on the page. I know what trick I do to make mine pop, most girls have their pussies or assholes in full view. Which isn't the kind of customer I want in mine.
Good lighting & clear HD stream does help but isn't everything. I'm sure even the guys who never spend money on that site complain about quality of the stream. Performers who want to make more money will reinvest back into equipment & some will not. Other's video feed quality isn't my problem, so I never think about it.
There is always a way to make it to the top of the first page, figuring it out & doing it your way is part of the hustle on every cam site. If you don't others will. It is a free market. Cheaters still have to pay out money for those bots & such. So are they really making more money?
If you are over the age of 21 & not driving? Some girls do shots as a hustle, I dont get it. Some also don't have real alcohol when they do it. Quite frankly, it is easy to hide if you are really drinking when on cam. Just put it in a coffee cup.
Instead of being fixated on what is wrong or offends you, watch girls who's hustle you do like. Ponder how you can do a spin on it. Figure out what they are doing right. Their profiles, which apps & bots they use. How they up sell.
Watching those who are doing it wrong is a mistake. And more likely you are to copy them too.
Re: [Discussion] What are your thoughts on Chaturbate's current placement algorithm?
I don't think that many major cam sites care about fairness to the models, if they were being honest. But just from a business standpoint, I'll agree that a placement based purely on viewer numbers is odd.
If I wanted to run a profitable cam site, I think it would make sense to put the following on the front page:
- Models that convert well - getting a guy to part with his first $ is the hardest part, the rest of his $$ is much easier (if I were an affiliate, I'd promote good converters especially hard)
- Models that make a good hourly - obviously, you profit most in the short term when every room on your first page is making maximum $/hour
- Solid models from underrepresented groups - if you know that 10% of your viewers go for Category X, but for some reason, only 2% of the models on the front page at the moment offer Category X, you might bump up some top models from that category so that the supply on the first page is roughly proportional to the demand
- Fresh faces with potential - this is harder to determine, but some of the new models, returning models, or models that don't work many hours might have the potential to be great earners or converters if given a chance. If you have information about factors that tend to indicate a potential star (such as great tech & good ratings), you could throw a few models that meet that description onto the first page for variety and to see how they do.
A model that can't get people into the room obviously won't be very profitable, but a model's ability to get a lot of viewers says very little about her ability to make money. If placement revolves solely around your ability to get eyes on your room, whether or not there's any spending happening, it makes me think that the site values eyes, not wallets. In which case, maybe they're making a good amount of money off of advertising, so they really value page views the most?
If free tube sites can be profitable almost entirely via advertising, maybe CB is doing the same thing, and any tokens earned are just frosting on the cake. If that were the case, it would make sense to reward models that generate a ton of page views. Even if a model is seriously pushing the envelope in free chat for a couple bucks an hour, maybe CB can make more advertising $$ off the freeloaders than they could if she were making a livable wage via countdowns or privates.
Where this gets really mysterious is when you look at the advertising on CB. If Pepsi were advertising there, I'd get it, but the ads are mostly for free online adult video games. I can't imagine that the games are making much money, so how could their advertising budget be very big? Surely these things aren't accounting for a huge chunk of CB's revenue, right?
Ugh.. major frustration with CB's rating system.
I'm getting pretty annoyed by CB's rating system.
We all know that there are always the guys who'll demand stupid shit that either you don't want to do or literally cannot do, since it's against the rules of the site.
In my experience, while most of them just blunder in and demand, demand, demand, some will try to win me over with tips and such..
Issue there is that they eventually wind up having tipped enough to immediately give me a negative rating when I explain that, no, I can't and won't ________ (fuck my brother, let me dog eat me out, stuff like that)., and then become rather humorless by tossing them a more snippy "No" - something like, "No, I don't do that, and I need you to understand that if I were to do something like that, not that I would for someone as rude and pushy as yourself, I'd lose my livelihood." Perhaps a bid to get them to understand that this is serious business for us, not just some playing around, but our jobs, that we stand to lose.
And I've noticed a trend - every time I experience a guy doing this shit + tipping to try to win me over, yet still losing the battle to get whatever dumb shit he wants, I see a new thumbs down.
I always do my best to provide the best experience possible, and I've got plenty of regulars and random guys who always love what I do and give thumbs up - I never get any direct complaints, just thumbs down that always happen to appear after these little shits pull their crap.
I know that if I reach a certain percentage, it'll start displaying a warning about tipping at one's own risk and blah blah blah, which will obviously hurt business.
It obviously goes without saying that my best course of action is to simply kick+ban as soon as they ask things like that, and that's what I've been doing since I realized this, but it annoys me just at its core principle, and for any girls who might not realize that this shit (the (undeservedly) low rating percentage warning) happens.
Just ranting I suppose.
Re: Chaturbate: Banning , Banned , Placement , Token Sites
What's going on with Chaturbate and the banning?
Re: Chaturbate: Banning , Banned , Placement , Token Sites
Re: Chaturbate: Banning , Banned , Placement , Token Sites
they ban me too: As we trust you are aware, your ability to access your account(s) has been disabled; and, your ability to access your account(s) will not be restored, as your ban from the Chaturbate platform is permanent. Please note that should you access any accounts in violation of this permanent ban, such accounts will be subject to termination without warning and any amounts associated with such accounts will be deemed forfeit.
Please note that due to the nature of your account status, we will be very likely not to respond to emails regarding your permanent ban
I don t know why. I didnt do nothing wrong. I don t know what they think I did. my ID was expired, and when I tryied to put the new one they ban me.
