how do you get yourself in the mood for work?
hey guys,
so ive only been stripping for literally one week and im quite enjoying it, but i am finding myself very unmotivated when the night just started. i tend to waste a lot of time in the dressing room getting ready because it takes me a good hour and a half to get in the mood to talk to anyone. usually after my first stage set, my attitude changes and i start to feel sexy.
guys can very obviously tell whether youre feeling yourself or not and i can feel a definite shift once my mood changes. but i dont want to keep wasting my time so i was just wondering what you all do to make yourself feel amazing, to make yourself look good and feel like an invincible goddess :-*.
my second question is, if youre having a day where youre just really not feeling it, how do you fake your way through the night?
last night was such a good night, in theory, lots of people there, lots of guys buying dances but i didnt really start to hustle until about midnight when finally, i got into the groove of things.
any tips would be wildly appreciated .
i am so grateful for this job and i really want to get good at it. i just truly need to change my attitude.
much love to y'all

Getting ready for work is a process for me - I can't be rushed or it sets a stressed tone for the night so I typically start getting ready 2hrs or so before it's time to leave. I'll listen to my sexy music playlist that makes me feel like a bombshell and helps me get into "stripper mode". I'll usually light a nice smelling candle and drink my BCAA to boost my energy. I also have an iPhoto album of motivating photos; things I've bought that I couldn't have afforded if it wasn't for stripping, vacations I want to take, homes I'd like to live in, positive affirmations, etc., and I'll play it in a slideshow as I get ready. Every time I glance over at my screen I'm reminded of my goals and it seeps into my subconscious.
If I'm about to work a busy/long shift (usually on the weekends), I'll pamper myself beforehand by doing something like getting a blowout (only $40 but you'll feel like a million bucks), getting a spray tan, getting a massage, taking a bubble bath, buying a new outfit, trying a new makeup look, etc. That Deion Sanders quote, "If you look good, you feel good. If you feel good, you play good. If you play good, they pay good." is very true for me. As I'm doing my makeup and rubbing all my body lotions on I look in the mirror and remind myself that I'm a sexy bitch. I say it aloud. It helps.
As I drive to work I'll jam to upbeat music in the car, or listen to my audio recording of "The Secret" or an Abraham Hicks lecture because I'm very into LOA.
This might be really excessive for some but getting ready is sacred to me hahaha
To answer the second part of your question, getting into the mood to hustle is mental. I start approaching customers and sell my first dance as soon as I get on the floor. It's like entering a cold swimming pool, you need to jump right in. I try my best to stay positive throughout the night no matter what happens, and I try to keep my game face on even when it's slow because it only takes that one customer. I also keep notes in my phone with a bunch of tips from Hustle Hut.

Trap music and a glass of wine!
More seriously, for me it is really important to have specific things I do to "transform" whether its doing my makeup a specific way, listening to a certain song, getting a coffee at a certain place beforehand. I think it's more about having a routine than what you actually do. Also thinking about it like stepping into stripper-role rather than getting "me" in a good mood helps me personally.

^I second the glass of wine!
I know tons of girls are super against drinking at work, but the way I see it, work is like a party and it feels good to join in the atmosphere by having a little to drink.
For me the hardest part is CHOOSING to get ready because I get myself nervous before I head in.
I feel like once I take a nice hot shower and start putting on my foundation, I get focused on looking the part... I have fun with my makeup, listen to fun music. That way, when I arrive at the club, I feel my best.
And it always helps to pick out a few good reasons why you're working tonight. For me, last night I was focused on my trip to Vegas next month with my best friends!
Re: how do you get yourself in the mood for work?
I found through a few years of trial and error that my energy is better if I spend a few hours in solitude before work. I used to go out to bars/restaurants with my coworkers to pregame and it was fun but would mess up my hustle for the night. I agree with trustfundkiller that it's important to not feel rushed at all, take your time getting ready. Personally I like to do my makeup and etc at home-too much negativity in the dressing room and it can make me feel drained to spend a lot of time in there, I prefer to come in with my game face on and hit the floor asap. I drink a giant mug of coffee while I'm doing my makeup and then smoke a couple bowls right before I leave my house.

I come on here lmaooo
Naw fr,
I literally think of my goals and why im doinh this. Like i dont feel like going tonight but i know i need to and if i dont go i wont make my $1200 this week.
U gotta turn ur brain off, just do it.
Dressing super cute helps me to.
Re: how do you get yourself in the mood for work?
And dont stress about what might happen. Dont think about what if i dont make my quota, what if its slow, blah blah blah. Be transparent to all the bullshit, negetive girls. Go in knowing ull kick ass regardless.
Re: how do you get yourself in the mood for work?
I just think of my goals. I come on here. I cook something really healthy.
Re: how do you get yourself in the mood for work?
Jump up and down on the couches and start screaming .... Tom Cruise style

Music and a nice blunt
Seriously though... I get ready at home so once I get to the club, all I need to do is get dressed and check in. I usually observe until I get on stage. I tell myself I’m not allowed to go back in the DR until I do a few dances or something. Sometimes my mind starts telling me I shouldn’t go or it’ll be slow, but I take a deep breath and tell myself the opposite. I also don’t rush myself

me too, in the 8 years i've danced i had to do my makeup at work ONCE. i come prepared and looking perfect. and good music in the car on the way.
Re: how do you get yourself in the mood for work?
I don't hype myself up for work, I always end up disappointed and burned out when I do. I just go in to amuse myself, wear cute outfits, look cute as fuck with my makeup and hair done, dance naked and get paid. I never had to motivate myself to work as a waitress or a barista, why would I have to motivate myself to dance? If I'm not motivated enough by the money or the job, I don't need to be dancing. Another thing that helps me is managing my mood disorders. I make gratitude lists daily, I eat well, I sleep well, i treat myself with love, respect and attention. I treat myself the way I treat others, and the way I want my boyfriend/ girlfriend to treat me. That helps a lot to getting myself motivated to work, because part of respecting yourself is providing for yourself by working and honoring your own schedule/ plans/ work ethic.
