Newbie looking to break into the stripping business
Hey guys, I’m hoping someone could give me some great advice on clubs to start dancing at. I’m interested in clubs in the Brooklyn or Manhattan area. I am 24 5’1 small boobs with a medium size butt, light skin (black African American mixed with West Indian background ). Looking for a club that will suit my looks. I hope you guys can help.
Thank you

Hi Shasexy.
I’m also a newbie here so bare with me as I’m sure experienced girls can offer you much more advice.
That said, maybe, think about the demographic you are aiming for as this help in the type of clubs that you make contact with.
There are several threads on black girls who dance given certain social politics are clearly present.
That said, as long as you are on point in terms of your skill, I’m sure you will be fine.
Some clubs (from extensive research)don’t mind if the dancer has little pole skill but is attractive, whereas other clubs demand their dancers to do more then pout while stroking the pole.
Maybe take a few pole fitness classes.
The focus is on strength as opposed to erotic energy, that said, if you are able to install a pole in your home, you can get your full on sexy on away from fitness classes.
I live in London, England and I’m very aware things maybe/are very different elsewhere.
Think about your music choice.
What genre of music do you enjoy?
Booty clapping to Gucci Mane will be expected of you by many as a Black dancer.
This misconception will not change..Work with it and believe in yourself, if that is your game, work it, if not?
Don’t be shy to rock your different vibes.
Use this as your Unique Selling Pount(USP).
Hit that pole as Duran Duran (Wild boys) plays maybe..will make many a man sit up and take notice.
Good luck.

I tried to edit point but as a newbie no luck.
My apologies.
Re: Newbie looking to break into the stripping business
^^ if you work at an upscale club no one is going to expect you to twerk to gucci mane just because you're black, and upscale places don't care about pole dancing that much either. i'm pretty sure some clubs in manhattan don't even have poles.
OP a pic would probably help, i know a lot of girls on this board dance in NYC
Re: Newbie looking to break into the stripping business
WE dont do research & write reviews on all the clubs around the world.
We don't do statistical data dumps on type of girls they hire, nationality or races of the performers they hire.
Nor do we all pool how much we make at each one & determine how much the average daily income will be.
If you want to know about a club, go there. Walk in the door & apply. You have to go and do your own leg work.
We dont do the hiring the clubs all have managers who do that. Please contact those who's this is their job descriptions.
You sound curious, serious people find a male friend & visit every club in the area.

Hi all.
To clarify, I did not say that the OP as a Black dancer may have to “skin out” to Gucci Mane, I simply said that as humans in life do stereotype, and such stereotypes can be experienced in many walks of life, some men may assume she will dance to *urban* music.
I was actually making very clear that a human defines themselves despite societal pressures so if she wants to rock out to Nirvana, go for it regardless of possible surprise.
I have been a member for 10 months and read a lot, there are several extended threads, whereby a Black dancer or a dancer mixed race (Black parent) laments on how they have been pre-judged while dancing in clubs.
I respect this community and I hope to productively contribute, but please do not wrongly paraphrase my words.
Lastly, the suggestion that high end clubs do not expect real athletic pole dancing was partially what I was saying.
As per threads here and other research, the notion has been put forth that *urban clubs* expect the dancer to dance her heels off while other clubs more so, just want the dancer to look pretty and stroke the pole, that said, here in London, a lot of the high end clubs Do expect the dancer to have *some* pole skills.
I am a newbie and referenced this fact with the awareness that those who do actually dance at clubs will have actual experience to share.
Great forum.
I like it here, I’m back from my day job and now on my 5th day of intense pole training from everything to ska to indie, my body aches but it’s a good ache!
Night night allxx

people do stereotype, which is why at upscale clubs, black dancers have to go out of their way to act as "white" as possible. many are not allowed to even braid their hair a certain way or wear it natural. so telling someone to "work with it and believe in themselves" in response to the stereotype isn't necessarily helpful
which is why i said to post a pic bc if she's glam looking and thin then she shouldn't limit herself to urban clubs. and at a non-urban club twerking to gucci main is the opposite of what to do as a black dancer. just sayin
ETA: i noticed you said "those who actually dance in clubs"... why are you on here giving strip club advice if you don't work in strip clubs and just do pole fitness..?
