Double booked - managing multiple customers (nice problem to have)
This drives me nuts, because on busy nights I often have multiple guys interested in VIP with me at more or less the same time. (On slow nights, this is never a problem of course).
How do you manage it when one customer wants to go upstairs, came in just to see you, but while waiting for him you met someone else who’s interested?
I have a reg who comes in weekly; but sometimes his timing is unpredictable. Usually I prioritize him since he’s so loyal, always spends, even though he’s not that big a spender relatively speaking. While waiting I chat up a new guy. Then reg shows up and sees me busy - he’s cool about it so he waits while I’m with New guy #1. So reg fucks off for a while. But then, another guy #2 Is interested, regular gets pissed having to wait any longer. So New guy #2 is long gone - and I often suspect he would spend more than my reg anyway.
I usually think about it like this- A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush.
But tonight really pissed me off since my reg was cheap and I certainly left money on the table waiting for him.
Any tips to keep the new custies waiting around without offending them that they aren’t first priority? Usually they say fuck it and go with some other girl while waiting. I have tried asking my reg to come in on slow nights or early, but usually no dice.
Sometimes I slip into the bad habit of not hustling while waiting for a regular. What a waste of time and money! But if I hustle hard and get a sale, I can’t always capitalize on both!
Thanks!
Re: Double booked - managing multiple customers (nice problem to have)
If your reg won't come in on slow nights or early, and also doesn't spend enough to make it worth potentially not doing other dances that night, then fuck him honestly. If he's gonna be needy and cheap and potentially cost you higher value sales, I wouldn't worry about his feelings.
If I was sitting with a guy when my reg came in, I would quickly attempt to close that sale. If he says yeah then we do the time. If no, then I'm off to my customer. But if your customer wants to sit around for a long ass time before he goes, I'd keep working the room, after a quick hello. If he gets butthurt about you not sitting for free, remind him that he could be coming in at more opportune times when you would have time to chat. On Friday night at midnight you're too busy making money.
