Colourpop has decent brushes for an inexpensive price point. I have so many brushes it's ridiculous, from all sorts of brands, but my favorite brushes of all come from Wayne Goss. Super expensive BUT they are like applying your makeup with fingertips of a furry angel lol. My favorite powder brush comes from Too Faced, the Mr. Perfect brush. It's the perfect shape and is adjustable with the little bow-tie strap. Royal & Langnickel is another great brush line, and I believe they are sold everywhere....their Moda Pro line are the best affordable eye brushes out there. Sigma is another amazing brush line, albeit bordering on the more expensive. Theres really so many great brushes out there at all different price points. I'd advise grabbing a brush set from R &L or Morphe or BH Cosmetics if this is your first foray into using brushes and just try them out and see what you like and what you dont in brushes, before really investing in your long-term brushes

"..they are like applying your makeup with fingertips of a furry angel" LMAO
I wanna be touched by a furry angel. ♥️ But I think Wayne Goss (and Sonia G) are out of my league right now. Her set is like $400. But I ain't mad at the hustle, I just want to make sure I'm making an appropriate investment. Thank you for other suggestions to start with.

Sonia Kushuk brushes from Target are nice. Super soft and not expensive.

After watching this demo all other beauty bloggers are dead to me. They're all trash now. ☺️
https://youtu.be/4swNx7uD6oQ
BTW I'm getting the brush set in this video. The Zoeva Aristo brush kit. I'm gonna add a few others to test out too. Right now it's all loaded in my shopping cart and waiting for me to pull the trigger.

Damn you have some skill! I wish my makeup looked even half as good as your when I used my fingers lol!
I have a variety of brushes that I love and have stood the test of time.
This set is excellent for the price. It's great for highlighter, setting/loose powder, and some eyeshadow looks. Had it almost a year and haven't had any bristles fall out so that's a win in my book!
IT cosmetics is pricier but makes stellar brushes if the price point isn't a factor. Their brushes are well made and don't fall apart.
My all time shadow brush is by Luxie. it's a precision shader that blends like a dream. Their brushes are awesome and fairly inexpensive for the quality you're getting (they also have a 20% off coupon rn for new "stay in touch" subscribers and any order over $20 gets free shipping in the US)
Probably an unpopular opinion, but I'd stay away from MAC brushes. I've purchased 3 over the years directly from MAC stores and while they are excellent in many ways (soft & did what they advertised to do quite well), I always have bristles that start falling out after a few months and eventually throw them away. For the kind of $$ they charge, I expect them to hold up better than $10 brushes from amazon.

Sigma or Zoeva. I got some Sigma this year for 40% during black friday. I truly advise agaisnt Morphe. Cheaply made, not a good investment on the long run (and I'm talking about months, that's so fast they break).
I love Regina! She's so talented and 100% makeup, no drama around her. Very relaxing to watch her tutorials, plus you can pick up skills.

Re: Makeup Suggestions For Cammodels & Clip Makers
i vote for sigma or zoeva. I have some amazing sigma ones of like 4-5 years and they are holding on good. The paint on the handle kinda starts fading as they are purple but the bristles are still freaking amazing.

Re: Makeup Suggestions For Cammodels & Clip Makers
I'm glad I asked this question because you guys really helped narrow things down. I just ordered that Zoeva Aristo set and two Luxie brushes. Honestly I just want to see what the difference will be vs my finger tips. Occasionally I'd use a brush leftover from a paint set. ☺️
I'm gonna read up on Sigma and Chikuhodo next. Normally I try to avoid the comment section on YT, but honestly that's the only way I would have ever learned about some these brushes.

Re: Makeup Suggestions For Cammodels & Clip Makers
Japanese brushes are bomb, but not worth investing from my POV. I don't think they can level up your makeup game that much, compared to decent priced ones. If you have the budget, go for it, otherwise not life changing.
I have a few Sonia G and Wayne. I like them, but I still do the blend, maybe 10% better than a good Sigma. Way sooofter, tho.
For creamy products I usually use sponges (foundation, concealer, cream blush). They leave no marks behind and have an airbrushed finish. I usually buy on sale wherever I can find, most of them are BeautyBlender, cause they have limited editions all the time.

Anyone have a good dupe for laura mercier translucent setting powder? I LOVE it but it's soooo pricey.

Re: Makeup Suggestions For Cammodels & Clip Makers
PETA has updated the list of companies that do test their products on animals. Even tho, they claim to be cruelty free in Europe and USA, they do pay for animal testing in China. A part of the brands: OPI, Victoria's Secret, Benefit, Estee Lauder, La Mer, Clinique, Makeup Forever, Maybelline.
I am sad to read about this, since I am a big fan of lots of theese brands. I'll have to look for replacements.
The list is here: https://www.peta.org/living/personal...ree-but-arent/
Also, there is an entire updated PDF list of brands who do testing on animals and PETA approved cruelty free brands https://features.peta.org/cruelty-fr...rch/index.aspx

Any company that SELLS in china (made is fine) puts your money into animal testing. Even through they all say they don't test, they do if this is the case as it is required by law in china. As a vegan i only ever buy truly cruelty free. These blogs are my go to https://www.crueltyfreekitty.com/ and https://ethicalelephant.com/cruelty-free-brand-list/ (and peta is also useful). The above companies have never been truly cruelty free.

Yeah, I am starting to learn now. Unfortunately, I haven't documented myself too much, when I was seeing that the package says "cruelty free", I was trusting them. For some reason, I am dumb enough to believe not all the companies are evil and some really do have good intentions and wouldn't do such a thing, as, lying the clients.
How wrong I was. I will be more careful from now.
I am really sad, because L'oreal is the only mascara brand I have been using for years, because it really makes my lashes fabulous, ugh... need to find a good replacement...

Re: Makeup Suggestions For Cammodels & Clip Makers
It's not dumb at all, it's how most of us operate unless you have reason to look deeper. These companies use deliberate tactics to hide what they really do. When you read "we do not test on animals", you believe it. They are master manipulators.

Re: Makeup Suggestions For Cammodels & Clip Makers
Essence makes bomb mascaras and cheap AF. I like Volume Stylist 18h (purple version). Easy to find also.
(plus is an indie european brand, besides being cruelty free and transparent about everything)

I used to love essence products, I was obsessively buying a lip color liner they had, that matched my lips perfectly. Thanks for reminding me!!!

i was just mentioning how the essence mascaras are the exception to the "more expensive products last longer" rule. They are the bomb ! Especially lash princess (the green one).
IF we talk about amazing cheap products, wet and wild mega glo highlighter is freaking amazing and lasts forever (the packaging breaks kinda easy but who cares? lol ).
The rmca translucent powder also. It is 12 $ for 3 oz. I adore it. Oh, oh, I recently discovered the artdeco clear lash and brow gel (it's like 10$) but it lasts also a long time and it holds my eyebrows in place like none (i was looking for a cheap alternative to the abh one).
If i remeber something I will come back and edit or post here haha !

Re: Makeup Suggestions For Cammodels & Clip Makers
Slightly off topic, but I have a skin care question: What's your favorite sheet mask?
I have oily skin so if you have recommendations for balancing/toner/collagen masks, it's a plus!

I use a bunch of the Que Bella mask you find at both Target and Walmart. I have oily skin too so I tend to use ones that have charcoal in it and sometimes a citrus blend.
This one is my favorite https://www.quebellabeauty.com/our-r...peel-off-mask/
My life long face mask remedy is diy: egg whites mixed with ground up coffee. It tightens and energizes your skin and then exfoliates dead skin when you wash it off. I do this once a month and the que bella mask three times a month. My daily face wash is Clearasil Deep Rescue Treatment with Salicylic Acid. I don't have acne but it's helped to fade my dark spots. Whenever I feel like I'm starting to get a little dry I use a hyaluronic acid formula from Neutrogena. I've been thinking about investing in a mircrodermabrasian device because Spa visits are expensive.

Re: Makeup Suggestions For Cammodels & Clip Makers
I'm pulling longer shifts on cam to pre-empt for slower days, what with how uncertain things are, atm.
This is a bit of a weird one, but I just wanted to get some of your experiences with this..I am planning on upping my 8-10 hour shifts to more like 12-15. So, with make up, obviously I do what I can to make it last..primer, moisturiser soaked in first etc etc. But do you girls touch up your make up by adding more base/concealer, highlighter and so on? Or do you find when it gets to that point, you need to reapply make up from scratch? I don't want things to look cakey but I also don't want to waste time. Would love to hear what you do. Thanks. x

I start over with fresh makeup because after awhile there's just no saving it. But I also have oily skin and after seven hours my make-up moves around a bit. It's very noticeable under my eyes. Using a color corrector and a blur stick from elf are my two best weapons to fight this and hold it together for as long as I can.
