im in ATL but was thinking of traveling out, what are some reasons you haven't stopped by?
When it comes to ATL heat it gets HOT! And it's dry heat too yuck! I lived down there for 8 years and I prefer the north in terms of summer air quality, because ATL is filled with cars n shit. The coast like Savannah is a beautiful place to stop by and see there's a awesome costal breeze. ;D But when it comes to clubs it just depends on what you want. I mean I worked at the "shitty clubs" Like club Wax where you don't need a permit because you aren't able to get naked but they do extras there, I never did though, but made money. I mean if you go there to any other club like Magic, Blue Flame, Onyx you'll pay a nice penny for an Adult Entertainer permit but if you can push the light skin foreign thing then you'll be good money making wise. I mean dudes love thick girls but "Exotic" always wins 9/10.
Are you still interested in Atlanta? I work at Oasis, which is mixed, and make good money there
I called Oasis twice, one girl said they are hiring and come in anytime and the other was rude as hell and said they aren’t hiring and don’t do auditions. Is this true? I was told they only do body checks...anybody work there that can give me some advice. I plan on going up there later on today and see for myself.
What about Caucasian dancers? I am Eastern European. I’ve never danced in the south before
I’m in Dallas and It’s been so shitty I’m ghinking of traveling. Does ATL do full licenses like I’m vegas or just background checks? That’s the only thing keeping me from Vegas I don’t want another license people can look up and find.
Should be going to Atlanta at the end of the month! Is it worth it? What's a good club for petite, foreign girls?
I was told by someone who works in downtown Atlanta that a few of the strip bars in gentrifying neighborhoods are either up for sale or the owners are looking to sell. YMMV with club loyalty in Atlanta....keep that in mind.
I am touching on one particular part of this post asking about working in Atl for Caucasian girls, and also, licensing.
First, you have to have a license for each individual club you work for (one exception that’s worthwhile—stay tuned.). The license is about $400+/-.
Cheetah is the main club for white women, however, there is a dancer —top earner— suing the club. She says the dancers were forced to tip vip hosts and bouncers high amounts and provide extras to be allowed in VIP, that if you took a customer to VIP and you weren’t one of these girls, the bouncer would escort you out and bring the customer a girl who was in the high tipping, high mileage circle. She also says that she suspected she was drugged one night by the club after running out of a room when a customer tried to force himself on her—she was given a drink and woke up in her bed without knowing what happened in between, and she brought this to court after another dancer said the same thing happened to her. Google it.
The other club is Follies and it doesn’t require a license because of its location but it was raided about a week ago,
Dances in Atlanta are $10, there are only floor dances or champagne rooms—this, the importance of getting into CRs at Cheetah in the story above.
Try it at your own risk!
If the opportunity presents itself, I would move to Atlanta in no time. Not that I'd ever been there, but if I could...so my interest in it is rather new. If you ladies have any more info, please let me know!
I read about the Cheetahs incident. It's unfortunate that this has happened. However, the pandering described above happens in most of the strip clubs in NYC with the exception of maybe Rick's. It is my understanding that there is some "politics" in the larger Las Vegas clubs as well, whatever that means. In any city, where the power rests in the hands of the staff/management/hosts, the pimping mentality prevails, hosts/management/staff screw up/tamper with the dancer's money, etc.
After clubs get lots of bad press and lawsuits, they typically clean themselves up and become much less hostile places to work as a dancer for fear of another lawsuit. So for all the future dancers, this current mess at Cheetah will turn out to be a good thing down the line.
Politics, yes. Club drugging the dancers?? Never heard of that before.
Yeah, I guess the drugging part not so much. But really, anything goes and can happen in this industry and it does as long as the pimps/management are allowed to get away with it.
Agree. The people who you and I answer to at our jobs—they answer to no one.
I work in Las Vegas regularly and I think the politics stuff is only happening at Rhino tbh, most girls don’t really like working there bc thr management And staff are not friendly to the dancers, or kind.
I think you have a good point about lawsuits and clubs, however I do think lawsuits also create more rules.
It’s weird when you post for info here on a city with a ton of dancers and don’t get much feedback!
Agree with all.
As far as the lack of information, perhaps that is a good thing. There is so much information here about places like NYC and LA, both places where I've worked the dancing circuit. This is good and helpful but at the same time, it points to how saturated the market is in those cities. I think the license fee is a definite deterrent for a lot of ladies and also, the fact that a separate license is required for each place. I also vaguely remember a girl I worked with in NOLA complaining about "all the stupid rules" in Atlanta and how strict they were. Clearly, she preferred NOLA. So I guess we won't know how good or bad it really is without trial and error.
do they require permits
Yes, in Atlanta you are required to get a permit and it ranges from 250-400/year.
I work at Follies now if your mixed or foreign you'll be fine esp if you can hustle but it is very high mileage and extras go on during dayshift. I'm slim AA and even tho Follies is the most popular club in ATL I still wanna work at another club. I keep seeing about Oasis so maybe I need to check that out. I was working at Wax but recently went there and it was so slow.
A lot of the information here is innacurate
The license at Follies is $100, Pink Pony - $200, Oasis - no license, Fulton County - $250-$275, Babes - no license, Eye candy - no license, wax- no license
The only mixed clubs left are Pink Pony, Oasis, Cheetah, Tattletales, and Gold Club (and that club MIGHT still be closed for renovations. Even then, from what I heard, it’s really dead). . Pink pony’s closing in 2 years due to an agreement they have with Brookhaven, Cheetah is likely going to be sold to property developers, and Oasis is currently in a court battle with Doraville so who knows if it’ll still be running within the next 2 years. Let’s not forget that all the clubs in Sandy Springs were shut down recently
Follies is ratchet but extremely popular...though I have a lurking feeling that they aren’t as keen about hiring black girls. I’ve gone there numerous times and was always given the runaround (even though I’ve worked at plenty of high end / popular clubs across the country)
Conclusion : if you’re looking to work at a mixed club in Atlanta LOOK THE OTHER WAY. ESPECIALLY if you’re black and not looking to work at an Urban club. Extremely racist hiring practices at the mixed clubs
