Congress Just Pulled CRAIGSLIST Personals!
US Congress just passed HR 1865, "FOSTA", seeking to subject websites to criminal and civil liability when third parties (users) misuse online personals unlawfully.
Any tool or service can be misused. We can't take such risk without jeopardizing all our other services, so we are regretfully taking craigslist personals offline. Hopefully we can bring them back some day.
To the millions of spouses, partners, and couples who met through craigslist, we wish you every happiness! |
Looks like cheating husbands will have to look elsewhere :D I feel sorry for ladies still earning off of it. CL is officially DEAD.

Re: Congress Just Pulled CRAIGSLIST Personals!
Didn't think they'd really do it.
Wow.

Re: Congress Just Pulled CRAIGSLIST Personals!
Tinder is about to experience a surge of freaks. The only thing that Craigslist was good for in my area was men in maid outfits and dudes bent over showing their hairy assholes all over cyberspace.

Re: Congress Just Pulled CRAIGSLIST Personals!
TER has gone private. P411 now wants id's. Not sure when that happened? I'm kinda hesitant to mention what's left out in the open to be honest.

Re: Congress Just Pulled CRAIGSLIST Personals!
This is shameful. No words..

Re: Congress Just Pulled CRAIGSLIST Personals!
I will go through a million tests to be verified, what is the plan ladies?! Move to another country??
-
Re: Congress Just Pulled CRAIGSLIST Personals!
CityVibe is also down, they're all shutting down one by one. Moving to another country doesn't sound so bad right now.

Re: Congress Just Pulled CRAIGSLIST Personals!
I have this goal to work my ass off a year or two then move to Europe. At least it will be legal. I haven't finished my research though and now shit shutting down. All I can think is get super fucking crafty, like cam, sell snaps, make videos, strip. I'll never be vanilla! I love making my own money and will continue. Now all I can think is how I should have gone full indy 5 years ago, damn! Trying to be a well known provider now seems impossible if not dangerous. I've been on stripperweb for since forever, never talking much and didn't have the balls to apply the wealth of knowledge sitting here. Now I'm all old lol. I'm freaking out

Re: Congress Just Pulled CRAIGSLIST Personals!
Is there no place on earth to run a website where the laws allow for respect for sex workers?
-
Re: Congress Just Pulled CRAIGSLIST Personals!
Are these sites "safe" if they move operations to another country?
-
Re: Congress Just Pulled CRAIGSLIST Personals!
I wish this forum could be made private because I feel like sex workers are under attack now more than ever before

Backpage is still going because it's based out of The Netherlands and Craiglist personals is still up in Canada.

Had a nice conversation with a woman about a week ago here in the United States who is moving back to Spain for good. She's selling her house and everything and getting out of here ASAP. From Trump to the expensive health care to the shootings, ect, she is DONE with this country. She has duel citizenship (Spain and United States). She said in Spain everyone has free health care regardless if they are actual citizens.

No they have not always requried ids. At least not for everyone. Someone sent me a pm stating that they had to submit info years ago but somehow this wasnt the case for me.

Re: Congress Just Pulled CRAIGSLIST Personals!
I am shooketh. I’m not technically a newbie, but I haven’t been around long enough to work without the well known websites. I will definitely be camming like crazy but I’ve been super worried about the future for sex workers. Of course all the pimps are happy because they want girls to be out working the blade. This is so messed up.

Backpage is an American company started by a guy out of Dallas.

Backpage was sold to a Dutch company back in 2014 or so.. So being that it's now under a Dutch company it's a "grey area" in terms of how they can go after backpage. Had backpage still been an American company they would have folded a long time ago.

Re: Congress Just Pulled CRAIGSLIST Personals!
I mean...does anyone else think trying to stop sex trafficking is worthwhile?

The scum are getting out their 'pimp suits' and shining their 'pimp canes' as we speak. Walking the track and freestyling is about to become reality for some. If not that, the advertising malls *cough* EROS, P411 and SLIXA *cough* are going to smack the remaining advertisers with the 'pimp hand' by increasing the costs of ads. In other words, the 'golden era' of online independent escorting is gone baby gone.

Re: Congress Just Pulled CRAIGSLIST Personals!
The thing about moving to another country to escort is that you're not going to make as much. If it's legal, you'll earn less $. AND you need a work visa to legally work in any country... so even if escorting is legal here, that doesn't mean just ANYONE is allowed to do it. You don't want to be caught by law enforcement. Even if all they did was deport you, you'd have a hell of a time traveling in the future with a deportation stamp in your passport.
I'm based in Europe, and there are a lot of benefits to living here, but I don't know if touring or moving here for escorting is the best decision.

Re: Congress Just Pulled CRAIGSLIST Personals!
I'm going to Germany again in a few weeks. Most SW is totally legal there but it also isn't as remunerative apparently. This is all really stupid. Trafficking should not be conflated with self-determined sex workers and pretty much everyone knows that, even the enforcers. Canadians, how has the new law affected you? Some people here anticipated a chilling effect, has that been borne out?
-
Re: Congress Just Pulled CRAIGSLIST Personals!
If it's possible to gain the proper licensing to escort in a legal environment I can't see how it would be worse than working illegally in the us and have to always worry about the law on my back. If it was legal here everywhere and not just Nevada I'd have my certification right now just like any other form of business.

Just to add on what you said when I was in Belgium in Sep of 2017 the rate was 50 euro for 15 minutes. The women were absolutely stunning and a few could be on a cover of a Playboy magazine. The same quality women here in the United States start at 3 or 4 times that amount.
I was shocked that such high quality women were available for only 50 euro. On the upside as told to me they don't worry though about cops, being arrested or getting robbed.
