cops are now shaming men in nyc responding to ads
God it’s amazing how prostitution is such a big deal in the USA. So this is just gonna push everything back in the streets again and make it more unsafe for everyone in nyc.

Re: cops are now shaming men in nyc responding to ads
But where are they posting these ads is the question. Most of the sites are either shut down or scams. Unless it’s like on EROS or something

I don't know how that police department has any credibility whatsoever. There were a few accounts in the news about that police department being involved with pandering, making videos of underage prostitutes in the act, running escort agencies, and they are 'in bed' with any of the nyc strip clubs that couple as prostitution dens.
As far as American views on prostitution, hopefully it's changing but it's got a ways to go. It's one thing for an occupation to be undervalued or highly stigmatized. It's totally something else for it to be looked at as not a job at all.
The scandal in Columbia, where Obama's men refused to pay the prostitutes, pretty much sums up the way hookers are treated in the US. These men promised payment. $800 in American dollars for the night is probably the equivalent of $2500 for the night in Columbian money, so not too shabby. Prostitutes do more than a lot of ppl are willing to do for money, so no reason not to make a good wage. The prostitute spent the night with them, and then they tried to give her $30.
So guess it's ok to be a slut, and the men feel entitled to it apparently (as we all know from the Brock Turner case, rape and/or brutal sexual assault in the US is pretty much legal), but if you put your hand out in expectation of payment, somehow that is not ok. In one of the interviews, this Columbian prostitute was called 'manipulative' by the US male TV hosts when she chose to speak out against the men and the men were perceived as 'douche.' The difference in cultural perceptive of the incident is astounding. In Columbian terms: Yeah, she's a dirty whore but she still needs to be paid for her work. In US terms: The men should not have sought out prostitutes in the first place. It is immoral. The fact that they sought out prostitutes is what makes the US look bad, not the fact that they scammed a worker out of her pay. Taking into consideration that cultural difference, I change my mind and lose faith that things will change.
So yeah, the white men can keep their unborn fetuses with beating heartbeats (and fingernails) and their guns but God forbid, a woman exerts autonomy over her body by treating it as her property for rent/sale.
Obviously stripping is not considered prostitution by most ppl on this forum, but I feel that it's under the same umbrella of work. So public perceptions of prostitution will effect how we are treated in and outside of the club. I think the stigmatized views justify why some customers can come into the strip club for the sole purpose of abusing us, and the male management reinforcing that as acceptable behavior.

This.
Re: cops are now shaming men in nyc responding to ads
This doesn't help one person who needs it, or stop one real trafficker. Remember how marijuana was a brain-killing gateway drug that turned you into a fiend/murderer after a single puff? Same idiotic shit. Same fools standing up giving speeches. Once again, incorrect and destroying peoples lives and livelihoods for their latest crusade. I wonder if they have listened to one single actual sex worker?
Amazing thing is there are real traffickers, and they're laughing at this "enforcement".
Re: cops are now shaming men in nyc responding to ads
I remember them doing this to men in Houston where they had either passed a law or wanted to pass a law where if caught, arrested, they put their picture in the paper.

You know what's really sad? I've met clients of escort agencies that actually rescued girls who were being maliciously pimped out (working to pay for drugs they were getting from their pimps.) A lot of the "angels" that come into a sex workers life don't look like Nosy Housewife Karen or Born Again Brittney. Many women leave the adult industry when they are ready to.....
Demonizing clients and customers only causes un-needed harm to their families and hurts them professionally when (OFTEN) these men are leaders in their communities and parts of society.
