Curious about being a bartender
So. Here's what's up ;__;
1.) in a mentally abusive living environment that is impacting my job performance. cannot focus on even the most mundane of tasks. disliked by employer and colleagues.
2.) not comfortable with stripping due to body image issues. also, having hygiene issues due to depression
3.) not comfortable with camming- i've **""technically""** tried it or whatever, on and off, never committing, i would log on anywhere between one second and maybe 2-3hrs the most, averaging 30mins, and then log off because it just wasn't for me. not yet anyways. i would love to do it one day after losing some weight, but I'm afraid it will clash with my life dream of visiting north korea; i feel i have to pick one or the other and it saddens my heart because these are both my Ultimate life dreams. I can honestly say I have nothing I'm as passionate about as these two things (reasons for korea is NOT up for discussion. I've just been infatuated with both sex work and NK since I was about 6 years young. Yes, sex work. No, I am not making that up. anybody saying that's impossible will be ignored. please no assumptions of abuse either, there was no abuse, i was just exposed to a lot-parents are dingy and dense and leave stuff out in the open. people always underestimate kids mann ::);D)
Thus, I have been lead to bartending. I figure I can throw on a wig on the days brushing it just seems too much. I have a friend who is amazing at contouring. I can find some subtly-sexy clothes that cover me up and slurp me up in all the right places for cheap for now, and get more quality pieces into my bartending career. I'm wondering about tips? Could I make much? I know the dancers alongside me will be competition, but exactly how much of competition for tips will they be? Do bartenders even get paid well? There IS an hourly wage, at least, right? I don't plan on undressing, is that even allowed? Or is there a rule that clubs only let the dancers do the flashing? If allowed, the only things I could see myself showing are TITS, but only the actual BOOBS- meaning no taking off of the shirt, I will literally pop them out. Other than that yeah I don't plan on getting dressed. I hope my question isn't insensitive, either, I don't know if it's frowned upon or not for bartenders to dabble in the stripper's jobs or consider it or talk about it.
I was thinking about posting a pic of me contoured but after telling you guys about NK, I've decided that I will let you ladies pm me for it instead ;D
EDIT- I ALMOST FORGET TO ADD- I am plus size
Another bashful edit guys /:O So I went to my facebook to download the pics that I would pm to anybody on here who were to comment and ask for one- and Honestly, maybe I wouldn't mind showing a lil skin. I guess the area of my body I was referencing when I was being all "no showing, ever" was really just my stomach and upper vulva area, because I have a muffin top. In pants it looks like a foopa, but when nude and bare it looks worse. I usually don't take pics or dress up, so while I'm going through my photos I just remembered how good and liberating it can feel to dress up and show a lil skin... I feel like this bartending job would help my self-esteem a LOT, put a new roof over my head, and just really transition me to a better place
Re: Curious about being a bartender
no, bartenders don't show their boobs or take any clothes off. what area do you live in? do you have experience? nowhere decent is going to just throw you behind the bar when you've never bartended before.
i suggest trying for a waitress position first cuz most clubs will train you for that and you can maybe fib that you have a little experience without it being obvious. waitressing is pretty easy if you start at a slower more divey club, or day shift.. especially at a juice bar. that's how i got into the club scene when i was clueless and didn't know anything about alcohol or working in a bar, and was too scared to jump into stripping. i made like 100$ a night selling redbulls and soda. you can make less or more depending on how nice the club is. both bartenders and waitresses generally make minimum wage plus tips

Great advice here ^^
I'd also check just if the club is hiring in general. I had a plus-sized friend who wanted to waitress at a place I worked, and they said she was too big for that but they did hire her on as a doorgirl- sitting behind the counter in a low cut top worked perfectly for her, and she was pretty personable so she'd often make decent tips.
