Anyone in the Medical Marijuana Field??
How many of you made a transition to hemp/medical marijuana?
I believe this is the way out of dancing for people who don't know what to do after dancing. Get a degree(work exp route sans paying for college)...While there isn't an official degree yet, Oaksterdam don't really count.. i know they got shit in the works if it hasn't already, that is once the farm bill as approved.. after the govmt shut down :((((
If you haven't already thought of it.
You can be a Trimmer, Budtender Mangement,.. i mean sky is the limit in this job thats expected to grow rapidly.
I currently work with a Grow Processor.. a connection made from the club.
Over the years ive gotten offered bullshit jobs but this one turned out legit. but u can't always trust the customers... some just wanna be good but beware of the customer that offers you a job.
Edit: I should of wrote a way out of dancing not the way

Re: Anyone in the Medical Marijuana Field??
I have an acquaintance from Western Canada who was working in a dispensary (she has never worked in the adult industry) and she advised to be thorough in vetting any work opportunity in the MJ industry.
Medical MJ does not have the same access to banking and protection from police that other occupations do. You could really lose your shirt financially if you hook up with the wrong types to make money doing that.

Re: Anyone in the Medical Marijuana Field??
Yes, I'm from "weed country".lol I've dealt pot and was an on and off trimmer before it was legal here. Know tons of tenders, growers, dispens owners etc.
I really appreciate the optimism of your post, but there are a few downsides I'd like to bring up.
One being over saturation. I'd recommend any gal that's considering venturing into this business consider the saturation of the market(probably not a problem if you're somewhere it was just legalized). There are literally people that have money and land ready to go the moment it becomes legal(Las Vegas and Colorado come to mind). Weed over here in cali is already starting to drop in price. It hasn't hurt the big time growers at all, but the little guys have more difficulty. Some places in Washington, they're giving it away. Growing weed takes a LOT of hard work and time for good quality.
Now trimming and bud tending are good jobs, but over here, they're...college kid jobs. I sincerely don't mean to offend when I say this. It's just that trimming is cool and can pay decent, but when you have to stay up all night and trim 24 hours because you're in a time crunch and your hands HURT for a week straight, you realize it's not career worthy. Also, you will REEK of weed unless your wear a stupid uncomfortable bodysuit. Your car and home will also reek. LOL
Tending is cool, but just like trimming, every college kid want the job. The real deal is management though! There will definitely be a need for managerial and supply chain work. I'd recommend still going to school for it, or at least gaining experience. Snuffle also has a good point, the pot industry is not protected like other jobs. In fact, it's still federally illegal, I believe. You can also run into some unsavory characters and situations.
Anyways, I love the idea of brainstorming alternative job paths. I think many of us that cam/strip/ escort have difficulty going back to normal careers. I'd also like to note that there are exceptions to most of what I brought up. I know a women that makes good money only trimming top shelf bud (that's all she does), people literally bid to have her trim their weed. She also has her own salon so go figure. IDK how her hands handle it though! lol

All this is true and-
even now if you are not street smart, you can get hurt or ripped off. I'll leave it at that.
AND with weed being federally illegal, seizure of property and cash does happen to growers and workers. A LOT of people in Montana have been treated badly by the Federal government and are in court fighting to get back what is rightfully theirs. The System doesn't view growers as Noble Healers doing Good Work- The System wants their piece of the pie, as usual.

I live in NJ and work in PA so it's still new here
You do have some great points though and I appreciate you taking the time to reply. I do agree managment is a great way to go. however one of those jobs could get you in the door.. I also almost took a trimmer job until i realized the weed smell and i didn't even think about it until i seen a video on youtube.
The job i work at now is a startup grow/processor.. its been a slow start up and im looking to get another job possibly as a brand activation manager.. i'm nervous and excited about it.. I did really like my job in the beginning but i realized i wanted to deal with the patients but then i hear reviews and i guess its just a matter of perspective .. the grass is literally greener on the otherside.
Wish me luck .. Ive got a few resumes sent out and a phone interview possibly tomorrow or fri.. I'll keep you posted

Re: Anyone in the Medical Marijuana Field??
Well if you feel informed enough and know the risks, have fun. High risk= High yield is the typical philosophy. I'm thrilled to hear you say you're on the east coast. Great money to be had there! This is a great time to get in on the east coast market. Though, I'm sure you know.
I wish I would have taken my cam money and invested in the weed industry over here years ago, instead of investing it in the business where I did. I played it safe and still lost.Ha.
Anyways, wishing you luck and good vibes! Do feel free to update.

Re: Anyone in the Medical Marijuana Field??
I really need to add this in case it helps anyone- IF you have a medical MJ card, your information ends up in Federal databases. Meaning if you are making money in the MJ business and living a mobile lifestyle....that MJ card gives LE the right to search your vehicle to make sure you are in compliance with the law.
DO NOT get into the green industry if you think you are signing up for an eternal Deadhead festival of Love and Trees. It is definitely not that and there are a lot of NOT "nice" people who make a living off of MJ. The plant itself is a good thing but turning a profit off of it is hard work.
Check around on the Internet and you'll see what I'm trying to explain. I don't want to be all negative here. There's good reasons not everyone would jump feet first into the Green Industry.

Re: Anyone in the Medical Marijuana Field??
In Portland, it's incredibly saturated. People are being payed $12 an hour to be budtenders. With tips, but still, That's pretty freaking low if you ask me. The trimmers I have talked to say now that it's legal, the money is WAaaaayyy way way less. Trimming used to be good $$. That's just the WA and OR area though...

Re: Anyone in the Medical Marijuana Field??
I have several friends in the 5-10Mil range who are "investing" - hilarious half of them are doctors. In 20 years you'll be able to get the shit at Whole Foods.

Re: Anyone in the Medical Marijuana Field??
interesting.. I'd love to hear more insight from states where its normal now. thank you stripsters for chiming in RESPECT.

Re: Anyone in the Medical Marijuana Field??
Not "medical"...but I work in the grey area on the east coast. Everything is still very much in the early stages over here, somewhat easy to slip in if you can establish a connection. Hustle and legitimize a little down the line if you so choose. Personally, I prefer working in the grey/black market. Legal bud where I am right now is still trash. IMO.

Not to mention all of the trim-igrants you are competing for jobs with. :/

I know a lot of girls that have crossed over to the Cannabis Industry. If you are smart and can hustle the sky is the limit!

Re: Anyone in the Medical Marijuana Field??
Lol "trim-igrants".
I stopped trimming years ago. Disliked always smelling skunky.

Re: Anyone in the Medical Marijuana Field??

Re: Anyone in the Medical Marijuana Field??
A sour apple flower makes perfect smoke for waking up . Not too heavy and extremely motivating due to its sativa-dominant gene pool. Strain Sour Apple offers impeccable morning smoke, long known for supporting creative brain activity and nourishing motivational thoughts. In many ways, Sour Apple is the perfect parallel to Cuban coffee, which is delicious and hits you almost immediately. Enjoy a strong fruity smell, which is very pleasant in the morning.

Re: Anyone in the Medical Marijuana Field??
A kind of interesting aside to this, a buddy of mine who has grown on the black market for years just got a legitimate job growing hemp in a warehouse, so that may possibly be becoming a lucrative industry as well.
6 figure job I’ll add.

Re: Anyone in the Medical Marijuana Field??
My long-time veteran stripper friend has a side-business of buying weed oil from a manufracturer and selling it for a profit. Though, it's her so-called "ex-husband" who does the selling. She said it's a lot of money she made selling to patients who were recommended by their doctors.

Re: Anyone in the Medical Marijuana Field??
My update-
My good friends "Janie and Jonny" got out of the green business in Oregon as it wasn't really worth the hassle anymore. Good for them.
Legalization is happening slowly but surely through the US and it's a good thing.
Like I mentioned upthread- don't enter into this business thinking it's all fun and you're going to like everyone you deal with. It's an industry. Take care of your bottom line and suffer no fools.

Re: Anyone in the Medical Marijuana Field??
I personally use marijuana for medical purposes. My psychotherapist advised me to use cbd juul compatible pods for migraines. I tried it and the headaches really went away. I am very happy with this tool. I also began to sleep well and my mood improved. If someone is suffering from the same problem then I advise you to try cbd juul compatible pods. It does work, but in small doses. I order it here

Re: Anyone in the Medical Marijuana Field??
Sure I'll be that sexy milf on "Weeds"
I always imagined she was a former dancer anyway. The storyline had her doing a striptease on a pool table. And that time she put on ballet shoes & went on her toes to show the viewers she had indeed been a prior dancer (of whatever sort) .(I think we all know).
