Dance tracker is losing me and other girls money.
My club started this new policy where you have to pay for a wristband in order ro get dances and VIP rooms (basically, we aren't gonna be making money off of those guys who only have $20 to their name, the wrist band is the price of a regular lap dance, which can add up).
Tbh I'm not that bothered by the amount of money I'm losing, (like I said $20 from guys who only wanna spend $20 and go) but I am bothered by the fact that since the beginning of the year I've lost over $120 because of this dance tracker, who thinks it's okay to fuck with my money. No other dance tracker cares, and it's the door girls job to sell those wristbands at the door, which she's not doing properly because my customers are always shocked that they need one.
This dance tracker has OCD and follows the rules OBSESSIVELY and will not budge on them. I just find it extremely disrespectful that he fucks with girls money to follow the rules, and in a state where strippers don't make a lot in general, $120 lost is kinda shitty, expect for girls for who that $20 could have been the difference between paying their light bill or not.
I know I can't change the club rules, and I don't want to make him break them, but I honestly hope that he gets fired or quits soon because I find this behavior extremely disrespectful and selfish on his part.
Has anyone else dealt with this?
Re: Dance tracker is losing me and other girls money.
What exactly is he doing to interfere with your money? Could you tell more about that?
I also find it curious that the door girls should be the ones selling the wristbands. I have worked at a couple clubs that had a wristband policy -- it was a one-time purchase and was valid for the duration of the visit. But it was the dancers who had to sell them, not the door girls! Door girls weren't dancing in VIP, after all. As a dancer you just worked the wristband cost into your sales pitch, and when he says yes you went to a bouncer for the transaction.

Yes- when I've worked wristband clubs I've always had to explain it to guys who hadn't been there before. Sometimes there was a staff member outside VIP that sold the bands, but the girls made the pitch. Usually if I felt a guy was too drunk/dumb to get the wristband concept (which somehow happened, even though I feel it's pretty straightforward??) I'd just tell them that the dance prices were $30/$40 for first song (depending on band price at that club) and then $20 for any after that.
I also worked a club where if they bought 10+ songs off the bat, the band was free. It was surprising how many guys would jump for that because they "didn't want to give money to the club". So in the super rare cases where guys have pitched a fit about the band at other clubs, I've thrown that option out there, because personally I'll eat $20 to make $180. But it almost never happens so it's not like I'm doing it a lot.

Those are both great hustles, thank you ladies.

He aggressively stops customers from getting dances, to the point of doing it mid-dance if he wasn't at the door when we walked back there. He's obsessed with following the rules to the letter and has a panic attack when the rules are broken or altered. I wouldn't be surprised if a customer punched him in the face one of these days tbh lol. He's extremely nosy and doesn't mind his business.

If he is interfering with girls' money, he is likely interfering with the club's money by extension. He is definitely interfering with the club's money by pissing-off the clientele. As an experienced dancer, if I went to a club as a customer and the counter did that to me, or I saw them doing it to other customers, I would not blame the dancers of course but I would definitely be pretty turned off, possibly enough to not come back. At the very least I would be wondering if other club staff behave that poorly and why the club allowed it. I hope the club powers-that-be would be cognizant of that fact if you and at least some of the other dancers were to complain. Hopefully, either the new VIP rules will be re-thought, or this guy will be replaced.
In the meantime, can you find any way round the wristband VIPs? Depending on your club's setup, either be a table dance machine or push 'unofficial' VIPS or even official rooms if you have them instead of just the counted songs. Maybe you could also use his dumbfuckery as a pitch point for a room or an unofficial VIP -- if the customer goes for one of your alternative offerings, he can avoid the idiot counter who wants to ruin your good time because he's mental.

Yikes! I'll bounce outta there.
Re: Dance tracker is losing me and other girls money.
Have you tried tipping the guy....
Like I mean $5-10 for the night, have a convo with him and say, “if you come back here and I’m dancing already just catch my eye and I’ll just put up my fingers for home many dances we have already done. That way you get your dance count and I get my money.”
Re: Dance tracker is losing me and other girls money.
He'd literally have a panic attack at the thought of "accepting a bribe" and give me my money back, I tried. I even ran into him at a regular club once and tried to befriend him to see if that made a difference and it didn't. He's a truly lost cause.
Re: Dance tracker is losing me and other girls money.
So if you already tried talking to him, you're going to need to go above him to management.
Re: Dance tracker is losing me and other girls money.
Is he often gone for a long time? What is he doing?
I've worked places where you HAVE to wait for the host/dance tracker but it's never more than like a couple minutes cause they ran to the bathroom or whatever. So you just chat with the customer, use it as an extra opportunity to upsell or whatever. If he's constantly gone I would take that to management.
