Opinion on boots? Does it cover too much, affect $$?
Hello all! I have been dancing off and on for years but want to hear your perspective. I get compliments on my long legs when I wear the usual stripper heels, but I am mid 30s now and my knees and back kill me, so I have taken to wearing knee-high black boots with black knee pads to protect my poor knees. I don't *think* I have noticed it affecting my money, but I sometimes wonder if it covers too much skin. Opinions? Anyone notice a dip in money with boots? I mean, I am sure some guys are leg guys, but for the most part they probably don't care right? Haha... just trying to justify my lazy comfy body-preserving outfits.
Seems not a lot of ladies wear knee or thigh high boots, though I have seen it a few times.
Might be worth it to me to save my knees even if I miss out on a little $$ this way... thoughts?
On a similar tip: corsets? Do they cover too much skin and ruin the "naked" vibe?

Re: Opinion on boots? Does it cover too much, affect $$?
I don't think it affects money unless you put out too much of a dominatrix vibe, which limits you to niche customers sometimes.
Corsets, meh, they seem like a pain in the ass mainly. If you can take it off in a cute way and get it back on in 15 seconds or less, go for it.
Re: covering 'too much skin', I walk around in a full length cardigan fairly often (it's freezing in there) and it doesn't affect anything. The worst I've gotten is asked if I'm a waitress, but then girls who are wearing just a bra will be asked the same thing...

Good point on the dominatrix thing. My boots are pretty tame, but I could consider branching out into a different color, too. Maybe white or pink boots, with some long socks to cover the knee pads. Agreed, corset probably too much effort. Thanks for your reply!!

No. They ass need to have something to the imagination on the main floor. Even if everyone is ass naked on the main and you’re “covered” with boots you will stand out.
Then reward the men who spend more money with you by showing them more of your legs etc.
Also it’s not so much what you wear that affects your money but more so what you say / how you make the customer or client feel.

Re: Opinion on boots? Does it cover too much, affect $$?
Boots all the way IMO, if the club allows it. I have known a few that think they look 'too hooker-ish' and don't allow them.
But if your club permits it, go for it! The club sure as hell isn't paying your medical.
Once I discovered tall boots, I was all about them. The right pair makes all the difference, and I am very fussy about dancer shoes because my hips, knees and feet are all jacked. I can't say whether the boots themselves had a direct effect on my earnings, but once I found a good pair I'm sure my increased physical (and by extension, mental) comfort did make a positive difference because I was less pissy and not hobbling about like an 80-year-old.

I've known some girls to cover thin legs with boots, or to hide ugly toes.
It really depends on club dress code and personal taste (boots do get sweaty.)

I don't know. I like showing my legs. It attracts men. So let it be.

OMG great point. Yes. My mood goes to shit when my body starts hurting, and then so does the money...

I recently got some PVC booties and wow i'm never going back, they grip the pole so well. I'm thinking about getting a thigh high pair next but I was a bit worried about the dominatrix vibe haha.

I would advise against thigh high PVC boots, if you do a lot of pole work; although the grip is fabulous, it might be a little too much peel n stick -- plus I find that the PVC tears/frays much more quickly around the zipper on tall boots (if there is a zipper) than on booties.

Re: Opinion on boots? Does it cover too much, affect $$?
Customers would always tell me that they hated how boots cover up our legs.

I think it depends on the outfit & the build of the dancer. Tall dancers can pull of "boot" looks better than short dancers.
(I've been staring at strippers at work for 2 decades so I'm confident in my opinion lol.)

….I hate "going there" with this observation...….but if you work in a real dive/dumpy strip bar....Boots can be a good choice to keep your feet cute, and be used as an accessory if you need to smack an abusive/violent customer.
Just saying. Depends on where you work....

Well I definitely do work in a tiny little dive, but it is super clean. Just... not a lot of money there from what I can see so far. Given how many dancers are wearing ballet flats etc, I think I can rock the boots just fine. Just found some even better knee pads, too. Gonna be so comfy!! I am just gonna dance in my pajamas and inside of a bubble :D I would probably get payed the same

Re: Opinion on boots? Does it cover too much, affect $$?
Thigh-high boots have been a game-changer for me! I wear knee pads under them, too. I'm late 30s and am all about protecting my knees, especially since I hope to keep dancing until I'm at least 50.
I am somewhat tall (5'7") and have skinny calves, so boots are a flattering look for me. They stick to the pole sooooo dreamily. Never going back to regular heels. Boots are my THING now. If anything, they have a positive effect on my money.

Re: Opinion on boots? Does it cover too much, affect $$?
Ive been dancing for 3 years and still have yet to feel totally stable/comfy in heels. I want to try boots, should I try open-toed or non-open toed?

Re: Opinion on boots? Does it cover too much, affect $$?
I wear black knee boots and it doesn't affect my money. I also give off a huge dominatrix vibe and that doesn't affect my money either.
Wearing cotton blend knee socks keeps boot sweat at bay. It is very much a real thing!
