Was Asked Not To Come In?
I'm new to stripping, about a month in. I've gone to this one club consistently, and they seemed to like how nice and polite I was. It's a low-scale, hole in the wall place that generally doesn't get a lot of customers and is only open 2 nights a week from 9-2. Because this is the kinda club where you get most of your $$$ from regulars, the whole, "New Girl Gets All The Attention And Money" thing doesn't apply here. But because of that also, I don't get very many dances or tips on stage (though, no one really gets tips on stage).
Friday afternoon, they asked me not to come in because they were gonna have a full house of girls - then followed up with, "We'll contact you when we need you from now on.". I assumed that because I'm new, of course they'll prioritize dancers who've been there longer. But one of the ladies there told me that it was very few girls working that night and that she thinks it's bullshit.
Does this mean this club no longer wants me to work there? Should I start looking at other places to prioritize and work at, if they don't want my services? My feelings are kinda hurt honestly lol, but at this point I just want to know how to move in a way that benefits my pockets.
Re: Was Asked Not To Come In?
Who knows? A dancer who views you as a threat had her way? Idk.
One month I think is good enough, experience wise. Get to a better club.
Re: Was Asked Not To Come In?
Yes, they don't want you to work there anymore but honestly, who cares?? They probably did you a favor. You weren't making much money there anyways. Go find someplace better that's open more days! Good luck.
Re: Was Asked Not To Come In?
Sounds like a blessing in disguise. Being one month in you should get the basic gist of stripping. Check out another club that's open for more than a few hours a week. I'd bet your money will go up and you'll be happier overall.
Re: Was Asked Not To Come In?
Yeah, it looks to me like someone cut your legs out from under you. Maybe you sold a dance to a more established dancer's regular and she had a case of the shits about it. Or maybe you turned down a manager's advances? I've heard of that sort of thing happening, too.
Yes. Spread your wings and fly. Don't wait for something to magically change, for the club to have a change of heart, etc. The fact that they'd do that in the first place tells me they see you as being expendable.
Re: Was Asked Not To Come In?
Ah, expendable. I guess I just won't work there again if they ask! I never saw it that way. Thanks!
Re: Was Asked Not To Come In?
To hell with that BS lies! Go find somewhere else to work. That’s the plus side of being a dancer...you can go work wherever you want.
