New to the USA! (Utah) Wanting to strip in Nevada. Need2know what I gotta do to work
I was a stripper in Calgary area for 2 years. I did freelancing (sold lap dances) at clubs, as well as did private gigs. Never did stage or the circuit. I was one of the top girls for private gigs. Made a lot of money. (I am an american citizen btw) We have relocated and I wasn't going to dance after we moved, but i'm getting the itch. I don't know how they do things here in the states! Is there an agency I need to join? Or is getting hired done directly through the club?? I'm in Utah, so looking at working in Nevada/las vegas on the wknds. Don't want to dance local.
I'm just looking for info on how to get started down here! :) ANY help is so appreciated. :DThanks guys!!!

Just go straight to the club. What is the circuit? Some clubs you can pay off stage but not all.

pay off stage? How much is that usually? In Alberta they have an agency you get on with. The agency sends Dancers to all the clubs. You can freelance at clubs, or do stage. If you do stage you’re on a schedule and have to travel to different clubs and work in Alberta. It’s the “circuit”. I would just freelance at clubs and that left me available for private gigs. Wasn’t on a schedule. Could usually work whenever I felt like it.
So in Nevada (or most states) you just go to the club and audition? Do you have to audition with the pole as well? Or just do a lap dance? Thanks so much for the info.

Yes in Nevada you can go in and audition and you usually audition onstage or they just do a body check (spearmint rhino). No audition should include a lap dance.

Paying or buying yourself off stage will depend on the individual club's policy.
Most clubs I have worked at required something like $20 for each skipped stage set, if you were simply skipping 'just because' rather than because you were in VIP. Girls are supposed to tell the DJ when they are going for dances/VIP so he knows to skip them and not charge them for it.
I have had customers buy me off stage as well -- having them pay whatever the skip fee is -- if they want to pay me for my time without doing an 'official' club VIP.
As to your other audition questions ... again, depends on the club. Can't speak to Nevada since I've never worked there, but just in general: I've worked in clubs that required 1-2 song stage sets (usually these places want to gauge your performing experience) and clubs that just gave me a once-over, or had a look at me in my underwear to decide if I looked fit enough. Some clubs are more stage-centric than others, but IME most clubs are not going to turn you away *just* because you don't/can't do pole tricks. Best thing to do is either call the club and about their hiring process, or even better, visit the club as a customer, to see for yourself how things work there.
As ariel said, your audition should NEVER include a lap dance, or a feeling-up for that matter -- watched the manager at one place pawing a girl under the pretence of 'requiring all-natural boobs and booties' and left right then. Some clubs also run your ID for a simple background check before hiring.

Depends on the club. At my club its $100 to be off stage for the night.
