25-30 grams. I love fiber! It’s the best way to lose weight. Ketofiber is delicious.
I don't wanna be too TMI here but as you age the lack of fiber in your diet becomes apparent when you go to the restroom- you will definitely feel pain/"slowness" down there versus enjoying a relaxing bathroom break. Also if you have gyn issues this pain while trying to pass stools can increase pain you're having anyways from other issues.
Fiber as you age becomes a crucial thing for health, which is why there are so many "old ladies and prunes" jokes.
Colon cancer runs in my (immediate) fam, so for me it's a real concern!
Recently, I saw my gastro Dr., as I had a cancer scare.
I've been eating more fiber, I bought whole grain bread, I drink more water and try to eat veggies/salad.
Not perfect in this area @ all.
I eat some ginger for digestive help
I also have Metimucal, it's a fiber, not a laxative. So you can take it w/o worry. Just mix in water, take up to 3x's daily.
I try to stress less, & walk as well. Getting out in nature (I'm lucky to be on 2+ wooded acres)
Stress is literally a killer!
I posted here & am building on that post about food as medicine, no interest here shown tho.:(
Anyway, thanks, great topic & God Bless! :)
I love acacia fiber. it is a pre biotic and contains digestive enzymes. I highly recommend it!
