Wigs, tipping important people, and San Antonio clubs? Help please!!
Hi all!
I hope it’s okay if I combine my questions into one thread so I’m not making too many posts at once. I’ve been doing a lot of research ((as I’m just one of those people who needs to be as prepared as possible)), but there are a few things I’ve been unable to find info on.
1. I have short, chin-length hair—should I invest in a wig?? If yes, what websites or retailers should I check out? I feel like I fit a type of woman some men like ((heavily tattooed, short hair and bangs, kinda thick)), but I keep going back and forth if I should have long hair to appeal to the guys who want a dancer that fits their definition of feminine.
2. How much should I tip toward the DJ, house mom, security, etc.? I read on a post that the club will tell the newbie this when she’s hired, but if there’s a recommend percentage of what you earn, then I’d love to know. I would hate to piss off people my first night there because I don’t know what to tip.
3. Do any of you work in San Antonio, Tx?? Do you have any recommendations for clubs? I’m leaning toward Allstars and Blush really only because of their google rating, if I’m being completely honest. If you’ve worked at one of those two ((or any in town)), please lmk how you liked it!!
Those are all the questions I have currently. If you’re able to help me at all, I’d really appreciate it!! TIA :-*

1. I wouldn’t let a wig concern stop you. I’d recommend working a few days and then deciding after if a wig is worth it.
2. If it’s San Antonio, id follow what they say. No need to worry there’s an unspoken rule to tip more.
3. I would NOT recommend Allstar’s. There have been multiple shootings in the club parking lot over the past year. Ditto with XTC.
The clubs considered the “best” by dancers as far as income potential is the Palace and also Perfect 10. There is also Men’s Club but extras are rampant there. (Though I’ve heard from a male they are cracking down on that—but idk to what extent)
If you’re heavily tattood + kinda thick, the Palace might not work for you.
I’d personally recommend either Perfect 10 or Sugar’s. Perfect 10 is generally “nicer” than sugar’s but it’s still a solid midtier club. And it’s all about the $20 dances so you don’t have to worry about much as a newbie. Just chit chat for 1-5 songs and get those dances. Sugar’s has a more “rough” reputation but from what I’ve heard there is foot traffic there. (Sugar’s did also have a shooting incident too, but it was only once this year)
Blush may be an option if you really want a small environment.. But from what I’ve heard, they have weird rules like “first come first served”—so you have to be punctual or you may not be allowed to work that night. Idk much tho.
The club I know about the most is Perfect 10. And that’s where I work when I’m in San Antonio. I love it because it’s near the airport so there’s some out-of-towners to balance out club regs. There are a fair amount of dancers who think the managers are assholes, so I feel the need to say that. But I’ve personally never had a problem.

Your reply is so so helpful—thank you for answering!! I hadn’t considered Perfect 10, so thanks for recommending it! I’ll keep this all in mind : )

No problem. Actually, now that I think about it, if you did want a smaller environment to “practice” first, I’d also recommend Tiffany’s. The main thing that sucks about it is the $5 dances. But because of that it’s also a consistent and busy club and selling dances will be ridiculously easy. My guess is that tiffany’s would have more potential but I’m not too sure.

Is Rick's still around? If so, that was a nice club for me when I worked there back in 07' era. Low tipouts & easy to get dances.

Ricks is still around. I’ve been there once as a customer before and smoked hookah there. So I get the impression they want to attract the younger crowd. The one time I was there, it was filled with baby strippers and it didn’t strike me as a busy club in general. But to be fair it was a Wednesday night. What I do know is that according to online reviews, there’s plenty of “extra fun” activities during the day and it’s just as well-liked as Men’s Club on that front from men looking for those sorts of things.

I work at ricks currently and I have only been dancing going on 2 weeks and for me being a newbie its perfect. We do get the young crowd that comes in but we have the big spenders that come in also. Wednesday was a really slow night and I made 200 just off 3 customers so it just depends on you and the people who come in because the guys usually have their specific type. I also wear wigs and it works for me.

Ooh nice. Glad it’s working out for you. :D XTC was my first club ever.
