Yep. I did a chargeback through my bank the day after Google support denied my dispute. I received an email from Google support a few days later, claiming to be investigating because of the chargeback. Then I received an email from them 10 days later stating that the transaction "won't be reversed". I haven't heard from my bank yet tho. I hope it works out in my favor because I'm in no mood to be suing people, but I will if I have to.

I would say about 5 - 10% of my regular clients end up with their cards declined when they use indiebill, so I have 3 or 4 alternate options they can choose from.
Oh... Yeah, I read that it could happen. Which other payment providers you use? I live in Europe, but I plan to market mostly on US market.

how annoying! I had a chargeback once through PP for my vanilla business - I could prove the guy had downloaded the item he bought yet I still lost the money & they charged me fees on top :/

Paypal? Yea, no. I don't fuck with them. Thieves. Scammers. Criminals. Fuck that company. I wouldn't use them for ANY of my businesses. Vanilla or not.

fair one, I was very pissed off like, they where pretty much just like "welp, tough luck" :/

Re: Cash App Is Not Adult Friendly
^ Even when I was selling vanilla stuff on ebay a few years back, Paypal sided with one of our scammer buyers & made off with a free $500 watch argh theives! So no I don't trust paypal.

Re: Cash App Is Not Adult Friendly
Any site without chargeback protection or using clearly NOT adult friendly payment processor such a cash app is a no-go for me. In my square life I use IG to sell “phone sex” and video calls and while “IG models” swear by cash app I’d rather use payoneer

Re: Cash App Is Not Adult Friendly
Everyone wants to pay via Cashapp or something similar and when I direct them to CMD or SKyprivate or Cam lust, they disappear...

honestly, I just cut my loss with those types - if they wont pay with a legit source it makes me feel like they just wanna scam or schargeback (not always true, just how I look at it)

Re: Cash App Is Not Adult Friendly
That's EXACTLY how I feel. ^ But somehow girls are killing it on CashApp, etc. I'd rather not freak out every few bucks I make.
-
Re: Cash App Is Not Adult Friendly
Some do get away with it for ages for sure, but it is a huge risk imo
-
Re: Cash App Is Not Adult Friendly
For some reason I've been huuuugely tempted by CashApp too.. I'm not sure why even? Most are fine with bank transfer or Indiebill. I think it might be cause of the fact that I don't rely on it for anything else unlike PP, which I couldn't afford to risk losing - also in my bf's interests. Ugh. I'm resisting though and PixieGirl, I feel you're right! x

Re: Cash App Is Not Adult Friendly
What do you mean bank transfer? I might sign up for INdie bill.

Re: Cash App Is Not Adult Friendly
In the UK I can take direct payments to my bank from guys based in the UK. With my camming name as payment reference. Could you do the same in the States maybe? X
-
Re: Cash App Is Not Adult Friendly
Yeah, you can but your real name is always displayed. In addition, they might need your real phone number and email for things like Zelle/chase quick pay, etc.

Re: Cash App Is Not Adult Friendly
I think this is worth a bump because people are still using these apps to get their coins.

Re: Cash App Is Not Adult Friendly
hope im doing this right, i didn't want to clog up the board with a new thread when this is here and recent-ish.
can cashapp take money from your bank account if someone requests a chargeback or do you just have a negative balance/get shut down? i am not worried about my account being frozen or deleted since i rarely use it. someone decided to be an asshole and request a refund for something i was planning on sending. i had just gotten a vanilla job and didn't have time to get it done quickly enough so after saying "its fine dont worry" they blocked me on skype and requested said refund. i even offered a free skype session in the meantime and they declined so fuck them. i have no idea how this works- and cashapp is not important to me but i'm scared my bank account could get frozen or something.

Re: Cash App Is Not Adult Friendly
Maybe slightly off topic but I don't really see accepting alternative methods as being that much riskier than having an OnlyFans account and that platform has exploded in popularity. It's basically the status quo for a cam girl to also have an OF account. Just in case anyone didn't know, OnlyFans provides *zero* chargeback protection and will take the chargeback money right out of your incoming balance until the "debt" is repaid. So in the meantime, anyone who gives you money may as well have set that $ on fire instead because OF will keep every single incoming dollar until the chargeback amount is earned back in full. And guys can issue chargebacks months later... pretty despicable.
So basically all these content creators are either totally clueless or totally cool with high risk of chargebacks. The more subscribers the greater the risk. More subscribers = more transactions of any kind: subscription, PPV, tip, etc. and they are all eligible for chargebacks at any time. Onlyfans doesn't have your back and it blows my mind how many cam models are flocking to a platform that doesn't even have basic chargeback protection. I feel like the very top creators don't even notice or care bc they are raking in serious boatloads of cash, but it certainly hurts the smaller fish.
At least with Paypal/Gpay/etc. where you'd instead get 100%, you can exercise your right to be highly selective about who you allow to pay you vs. having any random jackass on OF screw you over. Such is the case with quality over quantity... what do ppl expect when their OF subs are only willing to fork over for example the average $10/mo sub price-- basically the price of pizza per month? So in that sense, OnlyFans is much much riskier to me in that I'd basically have to pray every night that a bunch of random low-quality, low-paying "fans" won't issue chargebacks, vs. feeling totally at peace with longtime trusted high quality clients with Paypal/Gpay/etc.
To eliminate risk of chargebacks on Paypal/Gpay, granting access to these alternative payment methods should be ultra, ULTRA exclusive and not something you offer to just anyone. Also... cash out your balance every single time. Never had any issues in my 5 years of having these alternative methods. I also have business accounts and all my tax info & I.D. on file with these platforms, they send 1099s just like camsites, so I think that automatically makes them view me as less suspicious/risky by default. I'm not money laundering which is their main concern and they have all my tax info to report my revenue to the IRS every year!

tbh I've only had one chargeback ever on OF, for $6 - and Im top 1% on there - Im fairly sure they have just implemented more verification on the guys side to to try and stop chargebacks
I might be wrong here but Im fairly sure I read somewhere PP have the right to fine you extra for using their site for banned purposes - also, idk if this is the case all over but I use paypal for my vanilla business, when I got a chargeback, I didnt JUST have to pay the amount they spent - theres a fee you get hit with on top of the refund amount - on OF they pay that fee not us - so thats another bonus
like everything in this industry tho, everyone calculates their own risk v. reward and does what makes most sense for them, but yeah there are reasons people would rather get a CB on a platform than through PP

Re: Cash App Is Not Adult Friendly
A lot of OF girls are vanilla girls that flocked there because its a pandemic and they were strapped for cash. I know some of these girls and they are totally clueless about the industry. For example giving clients their personal phone numbers, real location and PayPal address attached to their real name.

I’m happy to hear you only had one small chargeback on OF, but that doesn’t change the fact the risk is still huge for you and for everyone. When I said the very top creators I meant the ones are raking in millions of dollars per month, Belle Delphine for example, this is the top 0.001% or whatever they are. She isn't going to care about a $20 chargeback. But even the ones who make 5 or 6 figures per month probably wouldn’t care too much either.
With vanilla business refunds and chargebacks and fees are part of the nature of business. I’m assuming you have a lot of clients paying you on Paypal, which again only increases chances for chargebacks. I guess it's nice that OF covers that fee, but still you're out the full amount of the chargeback. This hurts the smaller creators more than the larger ones.
It is different with adult platforms because every responsible adult platform covers chargebacks. Onlyfans is not adult friendly. Again if someone choose to do alternative payments they should make it super exclusive.

That's fine and I didn't intend for that to sound offensive, I only meant that it's reached mainstream levels of popularity and so many are signing up without knowing that risk, especially since every other adult platform in the industry covers chargebacks responsibly. There is a lot of criticism and advisement against Paypal, when there needs to be more awareness about Onlyfans and their lack of chargeback protection. I posted about it on Reddit a few months ago and many had no idea that chargebacks were a thing. I helped a couple girls find chargebacks in their statements before OF added the chargeback dispute section to their statements.
Business Paypal accounts don't reveal personal information. This is the default method for large donations for Twitch Streamers.

Re: Cash App Is Not Adult Friendly
quite a few higher % platforms dont cover CBs now - pretty much all the ones with OnlyFans model - Im thinking FRISK for example which is a similar thing but ran by a sex worker, for sex work. The idea being they pay out a higher % because they're not swallowing (as much as, considering they still cover the fee, which is about 50% of whatever is charged back in my experience) the loss
and yeah its a risk, but the reward is worth it as I tap into OF's immense internal traffic. I always said I'd never work a site that didnt cover CBs but, well here we are with OF income being 90% of my income lol.
my referencing the fee was more about using OF over paypal - if someone chargebacks $10 on OF, I lose $10, if they do it on paypal, I lose $10, my paypal account, $5 fee, and a possible fine of however much
theres definitely so many from a non-SW background who dont know about this stuff tho, heck I've seen girls advertising their cashapp on OF, not knowing its 1) against CA policy, 2) against OF policy, 3) guys can still chargeback on CA - I was actually chatting in a group about this yesterday - if I'd rather OF take 5-10% more but cover chargebacks. I dont actually think I would, as I'd lose more $$ overall in the reduction of payout rate & I think most would lose out more that way tbh

Re: Cash App Is Not Adult Friendly
That’s interesting to hear other subscription platforms don't cover CBs, doesn't sound too great lol. I was mostly referring to the traditional big cam sites and clip sites. Traditionally, anyone working in the online adult industry will never need to worry about chargebacks as long as they stick to the o.g. platforms. I think AVN Stars covers chargebacks and that is a big competitor, so possibly a nice alternative if someone wants a subscription site but also needs peace of mind!
Everyone’s risk tolerance is different and if you can stomach it that’s great, I personally cannot deal with the idea of people getting refunds. Onlyfans really created the perfect loophole for customers to essentially abuse the system and screw over the creator — for example, a guy could buy a $200 PPV and then charge it back later, getting that content for totally free. We could even pretend it was just a tip for nothing in exchange (ex. findom)… if he charges it back the model is still on the losing end for -$200 even if the guy didn't technically receive anything in return.
And wait, you can lose your vanilla/non-adult PayPal account over just one chargeback? I wanted to add that I’m not in any way shape or form advocating alternative payment methods. Just wanted to point out that they are basically just as risky as having an Onlyfans account in this day and age. People aren't flocking to Paypal or Cashapp at the same rate they are to Onlyfans, and there is undeniably a greater risk for chargebacks the more fans you gain.

I meant if you where using it for adult work haha!
Im not too sure on AVN, I have heard they do cover, need to look into it really! but this is the sort of conversation I was having the other night, on MV I lose 20% more, but know all my CBs are covered - its hard to weigh up cause realistically, I would be losing more money if the % we take home is decreased, considering how few CB's I've personally had. Also bare in mind not all sites have always covered chargebacks. C4S didnt used to, IWC didnt for a while, just as two examples
its not ideal but guys on OF dont get a download link, and their account gets deleted/IP banned when they chargeback, so in theory they should lose access to the content - in reality it doesnt always work like that
on a similar note I'm not necessarily advocating for OF either, as much as it's been a huge boost to my income I do see the shadey side, and I really hope a different platform takes off & has the same income potential, cause lord knows I'd love to swap over but I cant deny how much traffic OF has
