Dancers, how old are you? I'm 31 and want to get back into dancing
Hi wonderful ladies!
I was away for many years, and now I want to get back into dancing. It was the best job! Only, I'm 31 now. I can tone up and lose a bit weight, but is that too old? What range are the ladies here? I remember when I was dancing there were plenty of 'mature' ladies, but I'm not sure what it's like now?
I'm in England, will probably be travelling to London to dance!

GIRRRLLLL I have been in the biz since 20. I still get questioned which college I am in even in person. I'm 30. Thank god I have a russian youthful face or I would be homeless. I advertise/ say I'm 19-24 yrs old and they believe it. Take collagen powder and exercise. Don't tan and destroy your skin. Seen the heavy tanning of girls skin at clubs and it is brutal long term.
Also perfect your hustling skill. You will have one over on the younger girls if you relate to customers better.
Best of luck!

I'm 29 so not much younger than you, and only just started! 31 ain't old at all. If you got a good look you can probably do what indiegirl said and when customers ask your age, go lower! Say mid twenties if you think you can get away with it. I always say 21 and it works.

Re: Dancers, how old are you? I'm 31 and want to get back into dancing
I think what’s too old is how jaded or worn out you feel. For some, that expiration age is 45 (or possibly higher). For others, age 23. That’s not a show of weakness either if it’s more difficult for you to “hack it” when older—since some clubs environments are physically and emotionally easier than others. Plus we all have different boundaries.
As far as looks and whether too old on that front, I’d probably say let the club hiring manager decide and leave it at that.
I’m personally 26 years old.

I am 40. Have been dancing off and on since I was 28.

Re: Dancers, how old are you? I'm 31 and want to get back into dancing
I have seen dancers as old as in their 50s dancing. They took really good care of theirselves though. They made good money. I do not think 30 is too old if you look good and have a great personality to hustle.

29, started when I was 23. I’m assumed by others to be in my early 20s. We have dancers in their 30s at the club where I work. Actually, our top earners are the older dancers.

Re: Dancers, how old are you? I'm 31 and want to get back into dancing
I know 2 girls in their mid-50s still dancing. My friend retired at 46 only because she mentally was just done with it & her money was suffering as such - she still looked phenomenal.

Re: Dancers, how old are you? I'm 31 and want to get back into dancing
37. Ever planned to still be dancing but here I am still killin it and makin bank. Most guys think I’m between 24-31. I think the you get they are the you get they guess. I invest in myself and have no wrinkles, gray hair etc. I’m a single mom with no help from my bd so I’m doing what I have to to give us both a good life and working on my exit strategy. With my plan Id be able to walk away at anytime but could keep dancing and saving until I choose to stop.

Pfft. Youth is a commodity that any little idget sporting TJ Maxx underwear and pleb shoes can possess.

Re: Dancers, how old are you? I'm 31 and want to get back into dancing
For one guy who goes for the barely legal and college students, there's another guy who prefers a womanly look and the "MILF". I'm late 20s but usually get told I look early 20s and sometimes even late teens, and yes I've had moments where I was turned down for supposedly looking too girl-ish and young.

Yes, so much this! I am 37 and still have the looks and the body, but I have taken a break and am possibly done because of how jaded I feel emotionally. My anger and bitterness toward cheap disrespectful men had me lashing out verbally which of COURSE they deserve but was affecting my money. Physically, my knees have seen better days and are starting to hurt and make so much noise. If I do go back I am gonna call myself Jade, short for Jaded As Fuck :D
In any case, 30s and 40s is not too old. Get that $$$, lady!
The only dancer I saw who was 50, I honestly did a double take and thought she was the house mom when I first started. But she had obviously not kept up with skin care. No idea how she did money wise though. Props to her, she was still working it. I am sure I have met other dancers that age and just didnt know it because they take such good care of themselves.

Re: Dancers, how old are you? I'm 31 and want to get back into dancing
I’m milking the milf money! Young men like older women, and they aren’t afraid to spend money because they have many earning years ahead of them! I just had a guy 10 years younger than me buy an hour VIP no hesitation.
In the adult entertainment industry it is a valid question, but quite frankly I’m tired of people projecting the BS-belief system on to me. It gets old. Women really need to step in their power and not let societal norms control how they feel about their age.

Re: Dancers, how old are you? I'm 31 and want to get back into dancing
I'm over 30. I work at a popular club in NYC and we have several ladies over 40 still making lots of money. The average age of the dancers seems to be mid 20s - mid 30s. Lots of beautiful women over 30 with VIP regulars.
When I worked at Spearmint Rhino in Las Vegas the average dancer age seemed younger, but there were still some hot women in their late 30s-40s killing it.
It's your appearance and charm that matters more than your age.

I am 29, almost 30. Most of the top earners I know are over 30. Some are up to 50.

Re: Dancers, how old are you? I'm 31 and want to get back into dancing
I had some little shit try to age shame me and another vet. "I wouldn't want to be stripping when I'm nearly 40."
"Darlin' you may be half our age but you're twice our size." She left us alone.

Re: Dancers, how old are you? I'm 31 and want to get back into dancing
Honestly when Madonna puts up her heels for good that’s the age I’m saying that’s too old to dance, lol.
Age is just a number, it’s about how well you hustle.

I am turning 41 this week and constantly thinking of going back dancing. I miss the freedom of the business.

Re: Dancers, how old are you? I'm 31 and want to get back into dancing
Strippers that are still dancing at 40 despite earning hardly anything coz they don't have any other options/ or are alcoholics/ drug abusers who go to work for the free drinks and or drugs = sad
Strippers who are still dancing at 40 coz they're still making bank and know they don't have long before they'll have to retire = stripper idols
"What would Simone do?" was my motto when I did Dancerwealth. She was a 42 year old milf with broad shoulders, small hips, a 6 pack, and some fake tits. She wasn't any great beauty, she just hustled her ass off.
I worked with another hustler like her. Same althetic frame, fake tits, 6 pack making milf money

This is what regular folks think about all of us. ::)
The age shaming in this business is to try to discourage competition as if that's gonna work. Lol.

Re: Dancers, how old are you? I'm 31 and want to get back into dancing
I'm 34.
I love the flexibility of the job. I love all the theatrics and the drama and the travel it enabled me to do. However, there is a lot of bs to deal with too. I've had a lot of jobs in my lifetime and even though the dancer money can be great, especially if you have no degree and no other options, I think that I have been treated the absolute worst in this line of work in a way that would never happen in another gig w/out some serious legal ramifications. Age has not effected my money (yet) but it has shed some wisdom on the numerous ramifications of being in this business.
