I am just curious if anyone is experiencing a slow down.
I haven't worked in a few weeks but travel three hours to work .
Is it all normal business wise for you in the club or do you think the germ fears are slowing anything down ?

I wonder this too. There are cases in this city so I can imagine it would. I know a lot of companies are stopping business travel for now.
My guess (idk for sure) would be the clubs that are more locals oriented would be the safer bet for now. And I guess it depends on the citizens attitude too. Austin cancelled SXSW and San Antonio is going around proudly proclaiming that fiesta will still be on when the times comes. That particular attitude is a bit cavalier for myself and I will certainly avoid SA during fiesta..lol.
The higher hustle club near a downtown city (once again just a guess) is going to be harder to work in. Sadly I haven’t been in any club in a little over a week but there was activity then. I’m hoping it’s not too miserable when I come back.
I don't think it will effect too many clubs that have a high % of local customers. Until an outbreak occurs in there town I think they will still go. Should something happen locally then I could see a drop in customers.
Not that many in my club on certain days of the week. But the ones who crowded the place yesterday was that young beer drinking party crowd. Ugh.
I agree with Kimber; I don't think this will affect clubs in places without a confirmed case in the area.
Yes we have it here started as 3, next day 6, 2 days later 12 with 8 more suspected cases. They just called off a oil and gas conference, called off university classes. We still have the Rodeo going on but there is a petition online to shut it down. So I think club's night be effected. It's scary.
I hope my club closes... I don't want to go to work until this is over :/
Ohio, the state I've worked in for the last couple of months, just declared a state of emergency due to confirmed cases up in Cleveland. I'm a few hours from there but still feel as though it's a ticking time bomb. I'm down here now since my home city, Chicago, has a confirmed case in my neighborhood. Oh welp.
Reports on ESTL, ladies?
^ I'm working soon.
I don't feel a huge risk factor yet in my area . I was just wondering if customers are nervous so thanks for all for feedback.
I agree with this. I think any virus that has the potential to kill a lot of people when we don't have any vaccines or antivirals for it is really bad news. However, I read an article today or yesterday also that said the more people they test the more they realize how many people are out there walking around with the virus and showing very mild or no symptoms. I think by the end of the year we will find that the mortality rate isn't all that high. However, that statistic doesn't make it any easier for the people who don't have a chance of fighting it off for themselves because there's no real help available for them.
It not just about being sick it’s about the public being scared right now. You should all be saving your money right now!! Hopefully it will die down. If not....the country will be on lockdown and you won’t have a club to work at or anywhere to go except maybe the grocery store standing 6 ft away from each other. This is the situation in Italy where everyone has a 6 pm curfew and is required to be a certain amount of feet away from each other in cafes. Like it’s a joke to everyone now but this is what could actually happen especially in bigger cities.
I just moved out of Las Vegas to my small city that hardly gets any tourism....and everyone told me I was crazy a month ago. I heard about coronavirus in January and saw how slow our season was with tourists and people not spending money. Now it’s March, which is supposed to be the busiest time of year for them, and I thank god I left over the weekend....and let me tell you...it was freaky to be in the airport with people wearing masks and everyone talking about THE VIRUS. It also doesn’t help if you are Italian because people kept asking me if I’ve been to Italy lately. I can only imagine what it would feel like to be Asian right now.
If you’re still working in a club that’s just locals you might be ok still and have your good regulars come in. But I would love to know how this is going to be in Vegas. Like I’m sure they will still have the party goers but all those conventions are being canceled or postponed.
So don’t! Quit and come back when it dies down, why torture yourself with worry? Look into side hustles and online work.
Another thought...how much money are you going to make if there isn’t a demand?
On a positive note....when this does die down....you will bank!! I think people will be going out a lot and appreciate us more than they ever did. There’s only so many weeks you can entertain yourself at home before you go crazy.
I may be a little paranoid but I am afraid some men who exhibit signs of the ilness but who are not yet aware/been tested/diagnosed may actually WANT to come to the club to have a drink and make themselves feel a little better and some who may suspect they have the virus may even want to spread the disease to some hot girls who they can never have in real life. Think about some of these frustrated men who may hate on hot women and look for a twisted "revenge" for having been ignored and rejected. Did you see the video of a Chinese dude at the hospital in China who removed his mask and started coughing on medical workers after they had declined some request of his?
This is something I think about.
I had a customer come in in November, and he was sneezing and coughing while in the private room. Nothing excessive, but I did ask him if he was sick. He said it was allergies. Well, a few days later I WAS SICK! Either he was clueless to his illness, or he knew he was sick and just playing it off, not giving a damn about getting anyone else sick.
Since dancers are in such close proximity to customers, it'd be difficult to avoid someone's germs getting on us from talking to them in close proximity, touching, etc. With that said, my club is still open and customers have been coming in. We have double digit confirmed cases in my city, too. I'm not concerned, but still wary and taking extra precautions. It has been said that if you are healthy your chance of becoming severely or fatally ill is LOW. Granted, I don't want to be sick AT ALL, but I personally can't risk not working. I've been stricter about contact and how close are faces are to each other and asking customers to put on handsanitizer before private dances. Not full proof, but better than nothing!
Also, someone can have the illness and not exhibit symptoms. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think even in incubation period they would be contagious.
Allergy season is coming soon, so there will be more sneezing. Just lovely.
Girls, look up homemade tumeric juice shots to stay healthy. Tumeric prevents nasty colds.
I hope you all stay safe it is getting crazy. They are going to have basketball games being played and shut off to the public. Lysol and all disinfection s are out at all the stores here too.
Apple cider or white vinegar mixed with water is a good disinfectant.
I’m in Chicagoland near NWI and combined there is a few cases. I work at a smaller club with a lot of locals. It’s been about the same. I think as it goes on, our day and mid shifts will dwindle down as we have a lot more older men. I think the logical thing for me (or anyone) right now is hand washing especially after handling cash or dancing, controlling what I can do to stay healthy and wipe things down and avoiding touching the face (mouth, nose and eyes)
I’m more concerned about my regulars, I have a lot of older regulars with comorbidities. I hope they can stay healthy as I enjoy their company on my day shifts.
What will be interesting is the economic effects on our business..I am curious to see what will happen post-COVID19
I think you will BANK post covid19. Everyone staying home like this...they will appreciate us more after! I know I appreciate things more now. Personally I’m taking the financial hit and not working at a club bc it’s not worth it to me. But we can’t all do that obviously but I would be carrying around sanitizer and washing your hands, try to minimize contact with customers if that’s even possible. I would save every dollar you make bc you don’t know if you will have to quarantine later.
