How to get in good with the club
Tips and tricks for making yourself more valuable to your club? Im the type who isnt big on making too many dancer friends because in the past I have realized it can easily cost you money and headaches from the drama that can go on. But I will be attempting to dance in NYC soon and I want to make sure i secure good connections with people who will matter more such as managers, hosts, bartenders etc. Any suggestions??

I have managed to endear myself to managers based more on what DON'T do.
1. I don't get wasted or do drugs at work (once in a blue moon I'll sneakily eat an edible).
2. I don't ever ask to leave early.
3. I don't come with a bad attitude, talk shit or start drama. I don't date coworkers.
4. I follow the club's contact rules and dress code.
5. If there's a club where I have a schedule, I show up to my shifts and stage rotations on time and don't ghost.
6. I make it easy for staff to do their job. Like, if security asks to search my bag when I arrive, I don't give them a hard time about it.
7. I do tip out well when I make money but I actually think professionalism goes further than the occasional big tip.
8. If the club's doing some kind of cheesy theme party, I always dress up for it.
9. I do promo videos for the club if they ask

NYC is a different beast. With the hosts, you will have to prove yourself. They are looking for girls that know how to keep a guy in the room for long and know how to get the guy to spend (hours, tips for the host, bottles) ...this is your job. If you cannot do that, they will not use you. Alternatively, some hosts are looking for girls for specific clients and if you're not that, they will not use you. If you don't tip the hosts, they will not use you. Sometimes even if you tip the hosts, they will not use you. They may have a laundry list of girls they feel they have to use before you. How to make yourself more valuable? Develop a stable of regulars. Make sure they tip the host, buy bottles, and tip the waitresses. Make sure you tip the host if they help you out. Look good, keep with yourself always, and don't make ANY trouble. Fly under the radar. Managers just greet them when you see them in the beginning of your shift. Waitresses/bartenders, you want to help them sell bottles meaning do not actively try to block their sale and always encourage the guy to buy champagne.
Get guys in rooms, make sure they tip the host, make sure they buy a bottle, extend the room over and over again, repeat, get the waitress a tip, get yourself a tip, stay in contact with the guy, bring him back - repeat. Work regularly, wear the dress code, don't get into fights, don't get drunk or do drugs. Do any promotion they ask you to do which you are comfortable with. That's my formula.

Fuck upper level management/owners.

Or let the manager eat your ass with your thong perched on his head. Not that this ever occurred. ;)
