I got around to looking at it. Here are my notes of the interview--paraphrased, not direct quotes--for those who don't want to watch all 18 minutes.
1. When will SCs open?
Depends on what city and state you're in.
2. What will lapdances be like?
No contact until there is a vaccine. 6' rule will happen.
3. Will there be scheduling?
Depends on whether the government will be strict with how many people can be in the room. If so, yes there will be scheduling.
4. Will the dancer locker room have social distancing as well?
Yes. Will have to make it work somehow.
5. Will mask wearing be mandatory?
Yes. For both dancers and customers.
6. Will it be medical or sexy?
Medical masks provides to customers, cloth rhinestone ones for dancers.
7. How many patrons will there be?
With enforcing rules, probably up to 25-30 at one time allowed of customers. (Even if previously there could be 500 people in a room)
8. Will girls be able to do stage?
Not initially. Because of having to clean between everyone.
9. What will be used to protect dancers and customers?
Sanitizing products and cleaning, and masks in the back provided to others.
10. Will new girls be allowed to auditions at clubs?
Yes, with limitations. Previously, could have 10 girls apply at one time. That will change to 1 girl at a time with a one song set on a side stage.
11. If there is strict scheduling, will there be resentment if new girls get hired?
Likely not, because with clubs being the last phase to open, the rules with having person limits will be temporary.
12. Will traveling customers be allowed in?
That will be up to a manager's discretion. Many would-be travellers will have been scared off anyways.
13. Will girls still be able to make money?
In the beginning, it will be tough.
14. When do you think things will go back to normal?
It's up in the air. The prediction will be at New Year's.
15. What are your concerns?
What customers do when their drinking. May take off mask and forget to wear it again.
16. Will VIP/champagne rooms exist?
Yes. Can still enforce social distancing with them.
17. Will men be able to take off masks in the room?
No. Rooms will likely be more focused on dancing instead of talking. Because conversation will be tougher with mask rules.
18. Advice for dancers struggling to make money?
Part-time job
Side gig
Unemployment benefits
Onlyfans
"Hang in there, clubs will be open sooner or later"
My take is that I think clubs that tends to be in more raid happy areas will have to adhere to more social distancing rules. A lot of it will probably be more ignored otherwise. I thought what the interviewed house mom said about stage being less important was an odd answer.
I would think initially they'd open the clubs for stage shows only. I would not make anything on the stage cause I have zero pole skills and my main money-maker during stage presentations was my face which would be covered. I don't know how to get enough oxygen wearing a mask for a long time, I am afraid I could get dizzy. I think some of the customers might not want to stay inside for very long, too if they are required to wear a mask so not having high expectations as far as profitability of this industry at least for the short term.
From the clubs that ARE open, Stage money is the main money maker right now.
I'm going back next week.
I dont think theres any way to make anywhere near what we used to make, we cant have contact dances or get close at all, also how can we do vip rooms anymore, theres no social distancing in there also, in my state, there is a maximum 50 person gathering untill there is a cure/vaccine which my club normally sees around 250ish so nowhere near enough money to go around with those kind of limits, sucks!
Even when a vaccine becomes available, how will clubs know who has it and who doesn't? Will we, and customers, have to carry some kind of proof? That just sounds too invasive, IMO.
My bf predicted it would be stage only for a while once we open again (I'm in NYC) so I guess he was right. Sucks because stage was always my least favorite...I never learned any real tricks, never had to.
I hope we go back to normal soon, but since it sounds like places outside of the hotspot of NYC are implementing crazy precautions, I'm not optimistic for it being anytime in the near future.
Honestly, COVID-19 ruined strip clubs as we know it. (Or *knew* it, rather.) I agree with all of your predictions, but given the circumstances, our best bet is to do everything online. IJS, IMO.
OnlyFans has been working for me so far (and if you wanna give it a shot, feel free: https://onlyfans.com/?ref=34753052) I’m also considering FanCentral, NiteFlirt (a phone operator service), iWantFanClub, and this camming site that I can’t remember the name of. Idk. Like others have pointed out, we can’t control the customers when they’re drunk, and even after the vaccine, how will we be able to tell who got it and who didn’t? It’s really not safe to have any contact with anyone for the time being. That’s the only reason why I believe online work will be our best and safest bet. I’m not telling y’all to *not* go back to the club, but if you can get UI/PUA or find a PT gig, it might be better than trying to enforce social distancing at a club when so many people don’t take COVID-19 seriously anyway.
And for the record, I know people have different ideas about COVID-19 and every club/neighborhood/city/state is different, so take what I’m saying with a grain of salt at best. Take care. xoxo
^^this for sure!
Also, even after a vaccine I don’t trust it to put in my body personally especially if it’s done anytime within the next year there rushing it and won’t have any idea of the long term side effects yet. Just think of how long all the other vaccines have been around, I’m ok with those like polio, we would know by now if it would cause any bad reactions so since I won’t get the vaccine and I’m sure others feel the same I just wouldn’t go around people anymore for a while
I'm optimistic. Yes the new rules may hurt us, but you know what will help us? People going stir crazy staying inside their homes for months straight, with nothing else to do. I've seen a lot of people on social media going to Walmart just have a tiny bit of human interaction. Not to mention the fact that clubs serve alcohol. People will be excited to get ready and go somewhere fun and get drunk, even if it's just watching us dance from afar. Then business may trickle downwards until all restrictions are lifted. That's my prediction on it.
Wanted to say the say same thing, but didn’t want to come off as being judgy. Money makes the world go round, so if you go back to the club I understand. In my opinion, I think everyone should transition online because the clubs didn’t give a fuck about our safety before and it won’t get better. I can seem some more upscale places maybe adhering to the rules and doing temp checks if vice gets involved, but it’s sure to be a shit show. Godspeed
The only thing I don’t like about online is the percentage cut the sites be taking.
Idk.
Cam ladies who own sites say the percentage is necessary and try to give back as much to the ladies as they can. And many cam ladies seem to be making a good deal of money regardless
If you do go back to clubs - make sure to have savings set aside or get some disability insurance so if you’re out of work for a few weeks due to illness etc Your finances will remain in tact
She is dead ass wrong about so many things (at least here).
Clubs are still allowing dances. There is no scheduling (hence them begging girls to come to work). No locker room distancing. No masks required. Nobody cares about travelers vs locals. It pretty much went back to normal operations except for very few customers or dancers
I refuse to go in, too many new virus cases and my regulars don't want to go out either.
From the club FB group and the waitresses, they are saying it's been dead, less than 10 customers at all times. So few girls they're lecturing us about how the club is a team effort and we need to work in slow times ::)
They keep saying the 2-3 girls they get make money but I dont know what their criteria is for "making money" or how long those girls are staying. One girl said she pulled an 8 hour shift so I can't imagine it's very good?
Edit to add: oooooh it looks like a dancer's boyfriend had corona, so people are giving her shit and being pissy that she's coming to work. Yikes. Even more incentive to stay home.
i called my club two days ago out of curiosity, because i am dying to get out of the house. i figured even going and doing stage and making $50 could be fun because i'm going stir crazy. but when i called they said we are basically back to normal.. only dancers and staff have to wear masks.. and it is no longer stage only. full on lap dances and vip rooms are allowed. i'm curious but i don't think i'm going to risk it.
That’s another thing to... not to be dramatic lol but just doing errands, my mask is HARD to breathe in! I can’t imagine dancing in one for hours and hours. And I know it isn’t just the mask I’m using (a fabric) because it was the same feeling during vet tech school using medical masks. Idk how I could pull it off man
