Thinking about traveling to where strip clubs are open - good idea?
Hello all,
So I live in Charlotte, NC. So far there's not really any sign of us being able to open our clubs again, and I'm very afraid I won't even have a job to go back to once this is over. My home club is Uptown Cabaret, which in the heart of uptown , rent must be insane and we're going on the third month closed. :/ I don't want to accept that I might not be able to dance again, and I'm thinking about traveling somewhere where strip clubs will be open and dancing there.
1. Do you think this is a good idea, or will they be even more prone to turning away travelling dancers than usual? I know from experience when you call a club in another state and ask if they're hiring they're always vague and discouraging anyway, really you have to just show up and audition or get the scoop from another dancer.
2. So far the only clubs that seem to be open are in Wyoming and Alabama. Do I need a dancing license to dance there, and is there anything else I need to know?
3. Do you know of any other cities that will probably reopen soon that would be good to check out?
Thanks!!!

Some parts of Florida (not the bigger city areas) have opened back up in Florida. Birmingham and Huntsville require licenses but I think the rest of the state is okay. Wyoming only requires licenses in Rock Springs...but I’m a bit hesitant to go into that state because of their strict rules and also large stretches of the state having no cell reception. I’m too much of a nervous nelly to want to be stuck somewhere and not be able to call for help. But it seems management is trying to get their dancers to outright recruit others? I made a thread the other day about it because it’s something I still can’t wrap my head around.
Clubs are also open in Texas. Arizona, some parts of Oregon, Rhode Island, some of Nebraska, North Dakota, and I’ve heard some parts of Kentucky?
As far as money goes, it’s up in the air I think. For now, it seems like it isn’t too bad for most. BUT I would recommend trying to keep travel expenses as low as possible. I wouldn’t recommend traveling if it will put you at risk of being broke. Alabama doesn’t seem like it would be too far away. I’d probably recommend auditioning first at smaller towns with no license before being willing to pay the license for the bigger areas tho. I’ve heard they are expensive in Alabama :o
And have a dependable enough vehicle because my experience is the same as yours with just having to show up and see what they say.
