Re: White woman who called police on a black man bird-watching has been fired
GOOD ! She acted incredibly entitled and tried to use a hackneyed way to get a fast police response. According to Dick Gregory ; Bobby Seale and Chris Rock , the best way is to call 911 and say : " White lady being attacked ."
Glad to see she had to give back her rescue dog. She was setting a terrible example.
Now I'd like to see those 4 goon cops in Minneapolis seriously prosecuted. At least one for MURDER !

Yup. Firing just isn't enough, although a big step compared to past cases.

Re: White woman who called police on a black man bird-watching has been fired
He was fired because he was too stupid to even be a crossing guard. What possible reason did he have to keep his knee on the neck of a prone , HANDCUFFED , suspect for SEVEN ( 7 !!!! ) minutes ? ! What excuse do the other 3 dummies have who were right there just watching ? He kept his knee on his neck after he repeatedly said he couldn't breathe and AFTER he passed out. I'm sorry but that is 2d Degree MURDER in almost every state in this country.
Minneapolis is a progressive city with a decent track record. Not perfect but better than most other U.S. cities when it comes to police crime. We will see.

She’s such a good actress she was even scaring (and what looked like choking) her own dog.

America is racist at its core. The nation has been divided as we've never seen before. Most of the political decisions these days are driven by hate, fears, racism.
We can keep singing"America is the greatest, God bless America", but who are we kidding?

Where is this stupid cunt's criminal charges? While I'm glad she lost her job and pet, she needs serious punishment. She broke the law, and possibly risked this man's life.
I also hope a black man takes her old job now too. Haha. Add salt to the wound.

Re: White woman who called police on a black man bird-watching has been fired
I don't know. Is every person who acts entitled a racist ? She was selfish and silly and now she is alone and unemployed. Mr. Cooper was and is being very gracious. He was quite the gentleman and deserved much better. Bully for him for standing up to Ms. Cooper and calling her bluff.
She DID use a long time ploy that residents of black neighborhoods have used to get a prompt police response. It was fake and phony but racist ?
I think we throw around the word racist far too often in far too many situations that we risk devaluing it. The cop in Minneapolis was much more likely to be racist and certainly ACTED in a racist way and cost someone their life. That was clearly something racial i.e. when was the last time a white suspect was treated that way ? When was the last time an unarmed white jogger was shot in Georgia ? or Florida ?
Racism explains a lot in the context of our nation's unhappy history but it doesn't excuse or explain everything. I could see Ms. Cooper behaving the exact same way if it was a WHITE birder who asked her to leash her dog.

Again , we are going overboard. What she did is probably some minor misdemeanor. I am not condoning it for one second. I too am glad she got her comeuppance. However I do not think Mr. Cooper was at risk. Not this time. He could have been under other circumstances but not this time. And as I said, he has been very gracious. He has acknowledged and accepted Ms. Cooper's apology. I think the loss of her job and her dog is more than adequate punishment.

Re: White woman who called police on a black man bird-watching has been fired
^she should also be fined for making a false police report.
If Mr. Cooper had not filmed her shenanigans, he most certainly would have been at risk. At the least, police might have charged HIM based on her (what seemed like real) accusations - at the most he could have been assaulted or killed by police.
If that video evidence of her lying wasn’t made. HONESTLY who do you think police would have believed when they got to the scene? Hell with her Oscar level acting I almost believed her.

?
Woman frantically calling 911 saying a BL*CK dude harming her
she knew exactly what she was doing
1. getting a prompt police response
2. getting police response who would be more than ready to take down what they thought would be a “big aggressive bl*ck dude”
sure no risk at all being a bl*ck man in today’s climate where police brutality against innocent unarmed bl*ck men has become frighteningly prevalent.

No I couldn’t because she was too comfortable throwing in the race of the person she was calling police on because she needed that extra leverage to retaliate against the bl*ck man who dare tell her what to do with her dog.

I could be wrong but I believe baer meant EVERYONE collectively is racist. Like everyone done had some racist thoughts but most people don’t act on them like this lady did.
Yes her actions were racist because she leveraged race to manipulate law enforcement to get an outcome she wanted.
She might have lost her current job but someone somewhere will hire her

Both the cops in the video knew better. They'd both been in trouble before for shootings and excessive use of force.
I admit, I chuckled a bit when I saw that the police chief was black. That's why they were promptly fired. He isn't playing with cops-on-blacks violence. Had it been a white chief, I bet money the officers would have just been put on paid administrative leave.

Well said miss.a.p1600. If she felt she was in real danger, she would have been running away. The video clearly shows she was pissed-off for him telling her to leash her dog. She immediately called the police and made it clear to the police and to him that an AA man was threatening her. She knows, everyone knows how LE is going to react. Racist plain and simple.
I don't feel sorry for her in the least.

Re: White woman who called police on a black man bird-watching has been fired
Good. She acted so entitled. The rules of the park were to keep dogs on a leash. That poor dog was being choked by her because she was grabbing it by the collar when all she had to do was put it on a leash. I don't understand why especially at that time why she didn't put it on a leash.
I have a cat but I help take care of my moms dogs. As a pet owner I would never feel comfortable having my animal unleashed in public places. I don't care how well trained an animal is when its out in public it should be on a leash at all times not just for other people's safety but for the dogs safety as well. Like god forbidden the dog bit someone, attacked or got attacked by another dog or ran off.
She was wrong and instead of just listening and being respectful of the park and other people she when straight to racist mode. Too many white people are using the police as a weapon, they know exactly what they're doing. Even after all of this went down she still didn't see her faults. Her statement reeked of entitled and condescension. She didn't say that she thought she was wrong for not having the dog on a leash especially in a place where it was mandatory nor did she say that she thought she was wrong for being racist and making a false report.
These people never see their fault because they don't believe that they were wrong. Even when they suffer consequences they still don't believe that what they did was wrong. I hope she never gets another pet again and I'm glad she was fired. People who waste police's time, claim false reports and essentially threaten people's lives should be fined and or jailed.

Amen. I talked to a lady from France and I wanted to apologize for everything. “I know! I’m sorry!”

The problem with America is common civility is not fashionable anymore, and unfortunately racism and stupidity will always be present in a nation like ours. It's a human problem, not a problem with no solutions.

I hope that stating this fact isn't considered a political statement, but having an openly racist president doesn't help the situation.
