I admit, I chuckled a bit when I saw that the police chief was black. That's why they were promptly fired. He isn't playing with cops-on-blacks violence. Had it been a white chief, I bet money the officers would have just been put on paid administrative leave.
They would be in NYC. Even under Comrade DeBlasio.

Re: White woman who called police on a black man bird-watching has been fired
They just arrested ( Derek Chauvin ) the cop who killed Mr. Floyd.
His disciplinary history is horrendous. Questionable shoots , numerous complaints.
The last time he was in serious trouble the D.A. who refused to prosecute him was …….. AMY KLOBUCHAR !

Re: White woman who called police on a black man bird-watching has been fired
^finally. I’m surprised he was waltzing around free for so long.
Anyone else did the same n law enforcement would have them locked up in minutes or hours.
Bad cops should be held accountable
I honestly believe people are going keep protesting to ensure he’s actually charged, sentenced, and locked away not just acquitted when the video evidence of his gross negligent behavior is clear.

Re: White woman who called police on a black man bird-watching has been fired
He is charged with 3rd Degree Murder and Manslaughter. Good but not good enough afaic. What about the three other nit-wits ?
Btw, negligence is NOT an issue in this case. Chauvin's actions were intentional although probably not premeditated.

Re: White woman who called police on a black man bird-watching has been fired
^I should mention I’m not a licensed attorney so I’m not all the way familiar with the legal terms of criminal law.
This would have been better as a separate thread since that woman in original topic didn’t directly kill anyone and these rogue officers are worse.
I’m guessing the other officers won’t get any other consequences (besides being fired) unless perhaps Chavin shifts blame/claims his partners made him do it. But idk I’m not a legal expert.
I did see another camera angle that appeared as if another officer was putting his body weight on Floyd’s lower body/legs to ensure he stayed face down n couldn’t move while chauvin pinned him down by his neck.
And the third one was just standing there making sure the crowd didn’t touch the Other two officers on Floyd
In my mind the other two officers should be held accountable at least as accessories. I could be wrong but I don’t think they can charge n convict the other officers without first charging n convicting the one whose crime was obvious? Or can they enforce consequences on them all at the same time?

Upon further research I think they should have charged him with 2nd degree murder.
They should also tack on hate crime

Re: White woman who called police on a black man bird-watching has been fired
The wife of the murdering former police officer just filed for divorce.
-
Re: White woman who called police on a black man bird-watching has been fired
^she ain’t trying put NO money on the books for his ass
She should have divorced him sooner because she knew what type of demon he was. Stand by your man only if you have a GOOD man.
I hope she takes all his assets.
Plus I think people may try to harass her just for being associated with that dude so she has to distance herself from him for her safety
This also might be a sign. Most times women leave men who are going to prison/jail for a long time. So it’s likely that if prosecution and judge do their jobs that he goes away for a long time.

Re: White woman who called police on a black man bird-watching has been fired
I’m giving his estranged wife the benefit of doubt. He reeks of a classic abuser, I think she saw this as her chance. She saw having to support him knowing who he was and she couldn’t do that. Add to that the fact she was a mother and in 10 years never wanted a child with that man. She is of course reading the room, but she knows he is awful.

From Quora
technical terms: 1st degree is premeditated, 2nd degree is not. they are both intentional. 3rd degree is manslaughter.
1st degree murder is premeditated, i.e. i stalk someone over a few days and plan their murder.
2nd degree is more a heat of the moment thing, i.e. i walk in on my wife doing the frick frack with someone and i beat the guy to death. expanding on this, if i walk in on them and go get my gun from the other room and then shoot them, that would be 1st degree because i had time to change my mind.
there is technically no 3rd degree; its manslaughter. there are 2 types, involuntary and voluntary.
voluntary would be if me and my friend get in a fight, and i punch them and without intending to kill them, they die.
involuntary would be if me and my girlfriend are taking a walk on a cliffside and i trip and fall into her and she falls off the cliff, or me and my friend are fighting and i punch them and they fall and hit their head and die.

I don't understand how it's not 2nd degree murder.

Re: White woman who called police on a black man bird-watching has been fired
Chauvin is being represented by Tom Kelly, the attorney who represented officer Jeronimo Yanez, who shot Philando Castile during a traffic stop in a community near Minneapolis https://live.mprnews.org/Event/The_t...o_Yanez?Page=0

I knew she was a liberal the second I heard her damn voice. The mask gave it away. We all know conservatives would rather die than wear a mask.

Plus conservatives don't bother calling the pigs. They just play sheriff and hunt minorities down themselves like the Aubrey murder.

The names and elements of offenses vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. Each has its statutes online. Reading the statute is the reliable source of information.

Smh happened once again, but this time to a woman minding her business in a park. These callers need to be arrested. She called the police just because she felt like a black person shouldn't belong at the same park as her. One of the many reasons why people hate gentrification. Pushing people out of their neighborhoods and then having a problem being around them, feeling entitled to the same spaces, treated them like they don't belong and like they shouldn't be there. Imagine being in NYC and having a problem with other races of people to the point where you feel you need to call the police, smh.

The problem is everything is political. This isn’t politics as usual. The problem is people don’t know or don’t want to have healthy, respectful debates. I just think about how in dysfunctional families there’s the no talk rule where your not allowed to talk about the abuse. If you can’t talk about the abuse, then how are you suppose to deal with it? Not talking about the abuse actually make it worse.
I posted something in my support group that was very broad and not meant to be political and it got taken down. I obviously don’t want to offend anyone or be divisive, but at the same point it’s insane to pretend everything’s just fine and dandy.
Ive been journaling as much as possible about what’s going on it the world. If I can’t speak my truth to others then at least I can write my truth to keep in touch with my perceptions.

Re: White woman who called police on a black man bird-watching has been fired
There is no doubt that Amy Cooper deliberately pushed a racial button to get an enhanced and more rapid police response.
Afaic she behaved like a snowflake who thought she was the victim of a micro-aggression . This kind of mentality is created and nurtured in many of our colleges and universities. Her behavior is one result. All she had to do was walk away which she could easily have done. Instead she confronted Mr. Cooper's micro-aggression.
