Most Dangerous Cities In The US In 2020 for Women
The United States is ripe with amazing cities to live in and travel to. Despite ongoing concerns over crime, the country as a whole is safer than you might realize. In fact, with a homicide rate of 5.0 for every 100,000 people in 2018, the U.S. is statistically the safest it’s been since the 1960's. Compare that to the 10.2 homicide rate of 1980, or the 9.8 rate of 1991. Unfortunately, safety can look quite different at a local level than it does nationally. When it comes to individual cities, there are definitely some that are considered more dangerous than others.
Using the Bureau of Justice Statistics most recent crime data from its report for violence against women, metropolitan areas are ranked with the highest violence rates in the country. This population-adjusted statistic measures violence against women and is a useful tool for determining how dangerous a locale is.
It should be noted that just because a place is declared dangerous, doesn’t mean it should be avoided altogether. You’ll find there are safe neighborhoods in even the worst cities. Still, it's recommend exercising caution if you’re thinking of traveling to one of the top cities, which rank as the most dangerous in the U.S. in 2020.

Re: Most Dangerous Cities In The US In 2020 for Females
Mf neck stay on swivel when I go out.
And I keep some type of weapon, mace/pepper spray or hell whatever I can pick up
I rarely go out after dark especially by myself. When they put curfews for Covid and protesting turned violent I was like good cause most times crimes occur at night.
In my mind, if some dumbass dare threaten my life I want people to see n their be witnesses so it would be easy to catch ciminals
Sad but it’s a cold world out here

Re: Most Dangerous Cities In The US In 2020 for Females
I know this is a petty comment in regards to a serious situation-but can we PLEASE stop calling women “females”? It’s dehumanizing-I have female cats. We are WOMEN ffs!

Las Vegas has higher reported crime (in some areas) because LV Metro Police are well compensated to keep the Las Vegas strip peaceful and problem free.

I assumed (I could be wrong) that saying females is a way to refer to both girls and women.
Girls under 18 aren’t exempt from predators.
And the most dangerous cities?.....all of them. Predators n psychopaths can be anywhere

None of these cities surprise me. I traveled to NOLA by myself and I felt reasonably safe in the French Quarter during the day. Night time was another story.

no offense, but I thought of Californias as progressive. I figured they’d act “progressively”
I thought Chicago was scary. I’ll never go back there.
I agree with miss.a.p. crazy people are everywhere. During the pandemic tensions are high and I feel like anyone could snap for any reason. I get there’s statistical relevance of the proportion and types of crimes, but overall America is just batshit crazy.

Re: Most Dangerous Cities In The US In 2020 for Women
Maybe tad off-topic? but I can't find the self-defense thread rn.
Around February, I had a consignment shop send two young male employees to my place to pick up a bedframe & headboard I was going to have their store consign. One of the boys, I had met previously, he's a long-time employee of theirs apparently, he's nice. The second guy looked like he had an attitude kind of a redneck type. The type who thrusts up and down when you on his lap in VIP!!!
So they dissassemble the frame, and get it out of there.
Rewind. At the time this happened, I had been in the middle of moving. So I had NOTHING ELSE WHATSOEVER in that room. except my taser, which I kept underneath the bed. And on that day, I had forgot to remove it from underneath the bed before they got there.
So back to the story. They dissassemble the bed, and start carrying out pieces of it at a time, to their company truck. Halfway through, the new kid passes me in the hallway after leaving the bedroom with a couple pieces, and gives me this menacing look. Just a menacing look! with a little hint of a smirk at the corner of his lips. I could tell there was some meaning behind that look, though I had no clue what it might have been.
After they leave, I go back into that bedroom. And it's now EMPTY. And the taser, of course, is gone.
I was like really dick? really? You gone steal a petite lil girl's self-defense tool? Okay big boy. That's some TINY DICK ENERGY tho. Lmfao!!!!
I almost called the store, and told them but I was like nah. I'm not gonna be that bitch. Fuck em, I can BUY MYSELF A TASER! and I don't even need to steal one that is a self-defense item from some little girl. Rofl.

This was my fear too. Watching all these viral videos of deranged people melting down because of mask orders, self quarantines, etc I was on edge n ready to pop off. My city already had a ton of psychos precovid. Thankfully (minus the 2 mfs running up on my 6ft maskless) I have encountered mostly kind people.

Re: Most Dangerous Cities In The US In 2020 for Women
Mostly all three cities are bad ,more so for women.
Ladies, please read my LO threads, the 1 has some simple self defense vids.
Glad I'm in the burbs, no place is 100% tho.

Re: Most Dangerous Cities In The US In 2020 for Women
OMG CE! That is Beyond Shitty! I would have called the store, Idk, can you claim it on insurance?
In my state, you need a special license, just for one.
& now I heard you need it for a knife too!

You should call the store. It does not need a thief doing pickups and deliveries.

Re: Most Dangerous Cities In The US In 2020 for Women
Apparently, Sweden is close to herd immunity. They never locked down since the start of the pandemic.
I have more men coming up to me to get my number when I walk outdoors than prior to Covid. Not anyone I'd give my number to, though. I think they feel there's less police presence and their identities are easy to hide under the mask.

You might spare another innocent victim the same experience.

Re: Most Dangerous Cities In The US In 2020 for Women
Yeah, i can report that Saint Louis is pretty bad for all kinds of crime, including violence against Women.
But they only report the actual city. I live in the suburbs, i wonder how much happens here... Probably a lot. Most crimes against women happen behind closed doors. You never see it and she always thinks she can fix him. She can't.
Edit to add: If a man has it in him to ball up his fist and PUNCH a woman, she needs to drop him immediately. Not fix him. I truly hope no one on this site allows their man to do that. That is a flat-out crime against women.

Re: Most Dangerous Cities In The US In 2020 for Women
I agree.
I have a ONE and done policy. Thankfully I’ve never experienced physical domestic violence But if I did, I’m pressing charges AND suing for legal fees, emotional distress, n more
