There’s your answer.

LOL true.
I forgot to mention my boyfriend who also lives with us is being forced to go back to work tomorrow. So if he's going to be risking it for like $20 an hour why shouldn't I risk it for big bucks?
Uuugh you're probably right though. I'm just so over all of this :(
Re: Covid and the strip club
I’m in Florida- land of where it’s apparently a hott spot now. My club has been open for a couple of weeks already. I’m “one of those people” who said that I’m waiting two weeks out to see how it goes. Yup- it’s confirmed. There is a virus spreading like a wild fire out there. I got a few high risk family members and I’m not going back right now. So now moving on to plan b - online work.
Re: Covid and the strip club
*Is your state and /or club taking covid seriously with new strict rules and required masks? Have the amount of cases in your area risen?
- No they are not. They pretended they were by eliminating floor dances. I figured out that's only so they can run everything through VIP and charge us more fees ::) NOW they are being forced to - cases spiked like mad here (we went from <500 a day to 3500 the other day) and the county put in a mask mandate.
*Should I wait two weeks after they open and see if the amount of covid cases rise in my state (Illinois?)
- Yes.
*What are some of your own personal anti covid rules for work? One of mine is that I plan on carrying my own hand sanitizer and requiring customers to apply it before dances.
- I'm not working but I enacted them for my spouse, who has to go back on Monday. He manages restaurants so I'm terrified, quite frankly. He is going to be temp-checking all the employees before they clock in. He's doing himself when he goes in and once before he comes home. Hand sanitizer constantly. They are all wearing masks non-stop and he's agreed that if he gets flack from corporate for making guests comply that he will quit. I was thinking about trying to find some N95s at Home Depot.
I would definitely be refusing to dance for customers who don't wear masks.
*Covid can linger in the air even after the carrier leaves. How am I supposed to drink water in the locker room let alone drinks on the floor?
- Use a straw and maneuver it up under the mask. It's not perfect but you gotta hydrate. Does your club have a patio or somewhere outdoors you could go to get a drink?
*Serious question: breathing while dancing in regular mask will be difficult. Would I look ridiculous if I bling out one of these pictured masks?
- Probably but everyone looks silly right now with masks, so who cares. Rather look ridiculous than be gasping for air in a hospital bed.
Re: Covid and the strip club
No it’s not safe. I would Work from home or some side hustles like food delivery
I don’t judge cause we’re essentially trying to survive a capitalist, hierarchy, patriarchal system that oppressed us on a daily basis and I understand wanting to see familiar faces and make money.
I’m begging you ladies please do what you can to keep yourself safe. The government doesn’t give a shit about us. The clubs have never cared about the dancers well-being and safety. We HAVE to do whatever is within our control to take care of ourselves and be our own advocates because no one gives a shit about us except for other sex workers.
I think every club is different with it’s risks, but any mass gathering are a risk. If the customers are not social distancing (strict no contact) and wearing masks then that equals greater risk.
To sum it up it’s a gamble every shift you go in and it’s an unknown how each on of us or out loved ones will fight off. We just don’t know.
I’m sorry. This is a Sophie’s choice none of us should even have to make.

This. Buy one of these; it folds up and has a case for you to keep in your bag in between drinks. And like Selina said, just shimmy it under your mask.

I do not recommend the mask you have pictured above. Masks with ventilators are now actually banned in my county because they are ineffective. They are asking people to cover the ventilator with tape. Fabric masks only. Even better, add a face shield so your eyes are protected.
I don't have any "rules" to share atm because the clubs in my area have no reopening date at this time. For me though, I won't be offering any private dances (unless they hang a shower curtain or other barrier between myself and the customer). I want to do stage only when I go back.
Re: Covid and the strip club
I don't want to nag you guys so I will keep it short. Covid 19 effects your brain, heart, lungs, causes blood clots, raises you risk of high blood pressure and strokes.....in the long term. You can easily end up with chronic fatigue and life long disability. Your career as dancers and your next chapter of life can be severely affected. If you can take it easy and wait, work elsewhere, or work part time, it may save you and your family's life. -steps from soapbox-
Re: Covid and the strip club
I'm not going back to dancing anytime soon! Even if my state opens up all strip clubs, I'd rather be safe than sorry. For now I'm just collecting unemployment and being as simple and low key as possible. OP if I were you, I would do the same, especially since you mentioned that your home club is kind of dirty and you have high risk family members. Its just too much of a risk! Maybe consider doing work from home jobs. Stripping is not the kind of work that you can easily go back to after a pandemic since it directly involves lots of physical contact. And wearing a mask is no good because our job is way too physical to have our breathing be restricted!

As an unofficial house mom, I feel the same way. A lot of these younger girls don’t get it. We have no idea what the long term consequences of this disease is.
I recommend camming. Even escorting would probably be safer than working at a bar if you had good regular clients. Find a lonely guy who wants a COVID sugar baby.
Re: Covid and the strip club
Thanks guys! I guess I just needed someone to beat out into my head :)
My club made a few changes, but dancers and customers aren't required to wear masks if they are eating, drinking or smoking. So that cancels out everything :/
