Google your address to see what comes up. As a renter that's really the best you can do. When you put in the address all the usual results will appear: Trulia, Zillow, realtor.com. It probably won't be listed on Craigslist.
Have you looked at Zwillo?
Does you state have any low income housing programs? If rent increases are a hardship I'd look into that. Unfortunately that's how the game goes, property owners are partially passing on some of their costs to renters over time.
