I actually got approached in an M M O
So during the quarantine and subsequent quiet period, I have played some games that I haven't had time to play in a while - hey, don't judge, there are only so many times you can go to the beach.
So in these games, as you'd imagine, people who identify OFFLINE as women are rare. I'd say 12-20% if that. Now plenty of dudes play female characters ONLINE but they're pretty easy to tell.
So I'm playing along, ineptly cause I'm Gen X and haven't done it in a bit, and one very helpful person starts DMing me, very knowledgeable, glad to help, be in your guild, go on missions with you, etc. It turns out she will do this for in game credits LOL! She dropped so many hints about "if money is no object" "I don't have that kind of money" "with those kind of credits you can get anything really" "I'm just here to socialize and have fun". Gave me her "real" name, friended me, gave me the names of her alts, etc.
I have to give props where it's due - it was a good pitch. I want to believe it wasn't some dude in the Philippines, but I also want to believe in the basic goodness of humankind.

This isn't that uncommon. A good friend of mine and his (now) ex-wife were big time World Of Warcraft players years ago and made a lot of friends. I'm sure she just wants a friend.
The Internet is now pretty much a "utility tool" for humans so making friends that way isn't odd anymore.....

It could be a real female gamer who is lonely due to current pandemic conditions. Then again, it could be a bored and lonely male gamer who gets his jollies off from pretending to be a female because he likes the attention and help he gets by pretending to be a female. I have a gamer male relative who does such shenanigans. You never know.

An online game, it technically stands for Massively Multiplayer Online game. So one where there are 1000 online at a time. I can't explain too much more or we'll get a thousand "buy [email protected] g0ld" posts.

A lot of Girls I know play World of Warcraft.
I don't, because I don't really have the time to put into it. What I do takes up an ASSLOAD of my time.

Yeah, you really have to avoid getting hooked. I only get a to play a few hours a week.

I just play Xbox 1 (And soon Xbox series X). I can just save it and go do what I do. But you've gotta have something else to do to keep the juices flowing for writing, you know? It's why I've been on Stripperweb so much.
Can't do much else, at the moment.
