Arkansas Will Give You $10,000 and a Mountain Bike to Move There
https://www.travelandleisure.com/tra...ative?amp=true
The newly announced Life Works Here initiative is attracting new residents to Northwest Arkansas by offering them $10,000 to move there. They’re also throwing in a street or mountain bike with the deal, allowing new residents to easily explore the area’s 162 miles of paved trails and 322 miles of mountain biking trails. If biking is not your thing, you can opt for an annual membership to one of the local cultural institutions instead, like the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.

I wouldn't live there on a bet. Sorry, & no offense to anyone who does..
Btw, anytime there's an offer like this, there's a reason basically no one wants to live there, hence; 'incentive'.
That said, neighbor's relative lives there, some years now (hates it). Why stay? It's cheap.
Also, this's about renting, but yipes

It is? There's no snakes, that's a +!
One thing that always stopped me from FL, southern states was the snakes, not to mention 'gators:O
I sent that link to my neighbor..he was talking about a house for sale in AR for like 60k

Re: Arkansas Will Give You $10,000 and a Mountain Bike to Move There
See, even snakes refuse to live there! I sure won't.

One of my favorite quotes"
"Presumably Nicholson chose to stay at the Choke Canyon RV park, as opposed to a hotel, in rural South Texas because he wanted to enjoy the natural environment. His injury, although tragic, was incident to his enjoyment of the natural land. Nature, in Texas, is a rich mixture. A great deal of it is compatible with human happiness and safety. But some is not. Nature is not tamed in Texas and those who seek the outdoors are exposed to its dangers. A good deal of the vegetation in Texas stings, sticks or stinks. Any number of insects and animals can hurt, or even kill you. "

This is like the 3rd Arkansas thread we have right now - what the hell is going on in the SW zeitgeist that we focus on this humble state and its doings?

I don't care about the place, personally..
Especially that link I posted, about jailing those that can't pay their rent, I believe also, there was a lady that died in her car in a flash floods due to a non- helpful 911

Maybe we are all suddenly interested in Arkansas. It is probably an interesting place to visit in the summer.

That 911 one was so sad, I wouldn't been as nice as she was if I was being shamed as I was dying. >:(

I know!
She was just trying to get to her job delivering news papers..that dispatch was a ____!
They did nothing to her, & she should not have been working, in those types of jobs, there's no notice, you're gone when you tell them, you get paid tho, for the week or so.

No no, I'm not saying that at all - I certainly would never police the content of this site. I just was genuinely curious.

Don’t move to Little Rock ar of all places it’s ironically one of the most dangerous cities
People with nothing to do create gangs, create meth, then terrorize the community
Hot Springs AR has some of the best water

it is
last time I traveled to Hot Springs in summer it was cool. An old town vibe. Fresh water, water park, and a drive through liquor spot where you could order mixed drinks as long (as you don’t poke the straw) in and not get in trouble with laws
this was precovid

This has got to be the stupidest thing I've ever read. Nothing against you Jeffb, you're just the messenger, we have no problems, here. First off, why would anyone want to move to Northwest Arkansas If they haven't seen it? I mean I'm sure it's pretty, Might be a great place for a vacation, but is there any fucking thing there? What do you want to have to do, go out there and chop firewood? Go and kill an Elk to eat? Not interested. I'd rather just go to the Grocery store. I'll take my Vacation to Myrtle Beach, frankly. There's 16 Strip Clubs in that city.

Dude, I am NOT interested in Arkansas. Way too rural for me. Nothing against Rural folks, but I'd prefer to remain in the city.

Hot Springs is a lot of fun, they have horse races and a casino too. The spring water was really neat, you can get as much as you want for free. But yeah I’d stay away from Pine Bluff and West Memphis as well. Too much crime.

I went to Tampa as a kid. Back then (I don't know if it's true today) you could smell the ocean no matter where you were. And I'm not kidding, it STUNK to high heaven. Still a fun trip, though. But I could have done without that.

When I was a Teen I went to England with my family. I wanted to see Stonehenge, and Avesbury, Or Silbury Hill. Guess what they took me to see: 221B Baker Street, The home of Sherlock Holmes, a fictional character. Great, I get to look at the chair Watson never sat in, the desk Sherlock never used, considering both of these are FICTIONAL CHARACTERS. I was PISSED. They didn't let me look at any of the stuff that I wanted to see.
