That was kinda predictable. It’s peak season. Tbh, I’m curious to see how it affected Amazon, UPS, FedEx (Express, Ground, and Home Delivery), et. al. I know they traditionally need to temporarily increase their fleet this time of year, so you’ll see a lot of rentals from Budget, Enterprise, Penske, Ryder, even UHaul from them this time of year. I wonder if they increased their fleets earlier in the year on account of COVID creating an increase in online shopping.
I have seen a lot of rentals making deliveries. Buying online is probably way up due to covid and add that to the regular christmas volume and its easy to see how backlogs could accumulate.
I seriously had one package that was delivered in a creepy looking, rusty burgundy van with a handwritten FedEx sign in the window and another was a navy blue windowless van that looked like something the DEA or FBI
would drive to make a drug bust. When it pulled up on the street, I half expected to see the back door fly open and a dozen agents go running out of it to the neighbor's house across the street. Alas, all they did was deliver packages.
Lol, that's funny Wendi!
Once, out w/a former bf, we were parked behind a car, 2 guys went behind the car to get something out of their trunk, nothing unusual..til they raised their arms to open it, & wearing gun belts..
Another a place I was working, I was outside on a break, gathering greens for my bunny..all of a sudden, a beater car quickly pulls in the lot where I was, some bummy looking guy was there, 2 guys jump out, & wrestle him to the ground, handcuff him, & drag him off in the car.
Like not even 2 feet from where I was standing..
There was some regular cops in cars around there also, one of my coworkers was asking them about it, but they wouldn't say
FedEx is several companies, not just one, and some of those companies are made up of entirely of contractors. FedEx Express and FedEx Freight are company divisions; FedEx Ground, FedEx Home Delivery, and FedEx Custom Critical are composed entirely of contractors - often entire companies with their own fleets, yards, etc.
USP also has contractors, including this one. That damaged their only 747. If your UPS was late on the east coast, likely it was due to this accident.
