Getting ready to watch "Underwater" with Kristen Stewart and Vincent Cassle
Lets see how this goes. I'll keep you posted. She looks at you with dead eyes, like a DOLL's eyes... To quote Jaws.
Re: Getting ready to watch "Underwater" with Kristen Stewart and Vincent Cassle
Well, I guess it wasn't horrible, just mediocre. Kristen Stewart still has that Dead eyed stare and monotone voice.
There were a lot of storytelling mistakes, though.
1) They go straight from Kiristen Stuart brushing her teeth to a disaster. They don't introduce any of the characters, that's a BIG mistake.
2) It's too dark, for me I would have just told it in the dark, but in a movie you have to be able to see what's going on, maybe not the monsters (At least at first). But you have to see what the people are doing. This is set on a submersed installation, as long as they are near it, there's gonna be ambient light. Maybe not in a real disaster, but this is a movie.
3) Uninteresting characters, it's pretty bad when KRISTEN STUART is playing your most interesting character.
4) I just watched it and I don't remember any of the characters names but Kristen's (Nora).
5) The strangely andromorphic monsters. Couldn't they have been a little more creative? These are supposed to be things from the DEEP DEEP sea, why would they have arms and hands. I'd have used barbed tentacles. Like WICKEDLY barbed. But it's not my movie or my story, I just think something was missed there. They could have been like SUPER Humboldt Squid or something, just with razor sharp shit on their Tentacles, or something. They shouldn't look even vaguely Human.
6) I just watched it and I don't remember Vincent Cassle's character's name. There was somebody named "Paul," but for the life of me I couldn't tell you who he was. This is why you intro your characters. It would have taken five minutes, maybe less.
All in all, it wasn't horrible. As I said, Kristen Stuart still has that blank look in her eye and monotone voice. But, I dunno, I guess it was a valiant effort. Misses the mark a little bit, but whatever.
Kristen Stuart was better in this than she was in Snow White and the Huntsman (And this time she wasn't fucking the Director, I can't imagine having sex with her, she just lays there like a dead girl?). I can't imagine watching Twilight, 20 minutes, that's as far as I got before I decided it wasn't for me.

The kicker to that is that MOTHERS took their Daughters, and BOTH of them swooned. Kristen Stuart talks like a robot in those movies....
Re: Getting ready to watch "Underwater" with Kristen Stewart and Vincent Cassle
And, is Kristen Stuart an Android? She has no emotion whatsoever.
Re: Getting ready to watch "Underwater" with Kristen Stewart and Vincent Cassle
Look, to my original point... People should demand more. Underwater wasn't terrible, it was just mediocre and that's a different thing than a bad movie. I mean, I like bad movies, too (Shit, I loved Avengers Grimm, an Asylum movie), but not when I have to pay 15$ to go see one. Pandorum was one that sucked me in and screwed me over. You need to actually have something, not some studio ruled piece of crap.
Underwater wasn't really a piece of crap, it's probably the best movie Kristen Stuart has been in, warts and all. As surprising as that is. The writing has to be there, the Director has to be there. That way they're not ripping off their audience. I make my old college try to not do that, they should too.
When I mentioned the Storytelling mistakes I was serious, but that doesn't mean I didn't like the movie. Just that, as a storyteller, I noticed a few things.
Shit, i love the FUCK outta Flash Gordon, warts and all. I would have SEX with that movie. It's fucking terrible, but i love it.
Re: Getting ready to watch "Underwater" with Kristen Stewart and Vincent Cassle
Kristen Stuart tends to be cast as the quiet/shy/reserved/submissive girl in movies. Liked her a lot in Equals but she's the opposite in The Runaways. I like her.
Get what you say about expressionless/emotion.
Kinda reminds me of Jennifer Aniston. I got over her romance/comedy films. She played the same person over and over in films. I like when actors try something out of their typical acting range.

I haven't watched The Runaways, I need to. I have it around here, somewhere. I dig the band, so I'd most likely dig the movie, too. I didn't know Kristen was in it. I think Scout's in it. Dakota Fanning? I need to actually watch that.

It was good in my opinion

If Dakota Fanning is in a movie, it's probably a good movie (Except for Push). She was a good Actress at like four years old!

GURLLLLL her in the man on fire movie was amazing. I loved it.....I was all wrapping presents as a teen for 10 dollars an hour to make extra money watching that movie shedding some tears. LOL. Obvi....anything with Denzel in it is a good watch!
Re: Getting ready to watch "Underwater" with Kristen Stewart and Vincent Cassle
Indeed. He's a good actor. Ever see the Hurricane?
ETA: I liked Man on Fire as well. That dude was dead set.
Check out John Q. You're welcome.
Re: Getting ready to watch "Underwater" with Kristen Stewart and Vincent Cassle
ETA: Also check out "Training Day," Denzel plays the bad guy in it. AND HE"S GOOD!

Thought you meant John Wick at first. John Q was good. Saw him in Manchurian Candidate and The Equalizer (forgot what other movies I've seen him in.) But Manchurian Candidate was good!
Re: Getting ready to watch "Underwater" with Kristen Stewart and Vincent Cassle
Check out The Equalizer 2, it's pretty good as well. I don't think Denzel has ever made a bad movie. At least not to my recollection.
BTW: John Wick is a pretty good flicker show as well.

Kinda felt Equalizer 2 wasn't as good in comparison to the 1st. It's always those sequels where it gets a little overplayed.. Depends on the movie as we all know. I could watch a Rush Hour 4 and love it all. Chris Tucker is hilarious hahah
Re: Getting ready to watch "Underwater" with Kristen Stewart and Vincent Cassle
Well, the first had Chloë Grace Moretz in it, that's a serious advantage. But I thought the second one was pretty good as well.
Check out "Let me in", that has Chloë Grace Moretz in it as well. And it's GOOD. Kodi Smit-McPhee is in that one, too.
Re: Getting ready to watch "Underwater" with Kristen Stewart and Vincent Cassle
Watched the Runaways last night, it was pretty good.
