Re: Rioters storm Capital Building in DC
At least a dozen of President Donald Trump's supporters are expected to be charged in connection with the invasion of the U.S. Capitol as Congress certified Joe Biden's election win.
Acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen said federal prosecutors had been working overnight to identify suspects involved in storming the Capitol after a Trump rally outside the White House, and some individuals could be charged as soon as Thursday, reported ABC News.

I don't know if this is the time to resign. Only like 14 days left in this idiot's term? Somebody has to keep control. Or this shit'll happen again.
I think this is time to mobilize the Military for the next two weeks.

None of that makes any sense to me. He is not mentally fit to be president. This is exactly why they should use the 25th. He can do a lot in 14 days, we need to function as a democracy and not allow military power especially in a transition. The national guard responds directly to the president, which is why he resisted sending them.
Also the Capitol police do not need more funding, they are perfectly capable of being threatening and arresting trespassers when they do not agree with their actions to the point of taking selfies with the terrorists

Is setting fires right. No.
Is murdering innocent Black people right. No.
That incident was in response to wrongful deaths occurring at the hands of rogue law enforcement. These people are rioting because of their entitlement over a damn election.
Comparison is apples to oranges.
And besides - Two wrongs do not make a right.
Also, most of the violent people that show up to BLM events are not true BLM folks. They are anarchists, thugs, criminals and even anti-BLM people that show up to exploit BLM events, e.g., to incite riots, loot stores and to discredit BLM. When you look at the leaders of the BLM movement, they are peaceful people. Compare them to the alt right people that show up to Trump rallies.
Re: Rioters storm Capital Building in DC
Ok, here's what Im having trouble with:
1. shouldn't this landmark day/event have been planned for potential trouble, such as ramping up the cops, etc.?
I mean, as a country, we've had a huge history this past year of riots, looting, big public violence.
2. I say the whole thing smells of a set up, see above statement.
Reminds me somewhat of the rein of terror, France 1792.

https://www.policemag.com/342098/the...sidential-poll
According to Policemag poll of nearly 4000 of their subscribers, 84% of them supported Trump in 2016. Too early for 2020 numbers but I doubt they would differ that much.
This day is all ceremonial, Joe Biden was going to be our president without this. They also did it after it started which is all you technically need if you are an originalist. Trump shouldn’t have been allowed to hold a rally and then incite a riot
Re: Rioters storm Capital Building in DC
Just watched the video for the 1st time thinkin' "Welp, this is a unique tour of the U.S. Capitol."
https://youtu.be/c6j1l-MICZk?t=89
Part of me would've liked to show up in a cow costume after hearing someone was dressed up as a viking and I don't even vote. LOL. Halloween came early for that guy.

Re: Rioters storm Capital Building in DC
A West Virginia legislator who recorded and then deleted a video of himself storming the U.S. Capitol with hundreds of rioters is under mounting pressure to resign.
Nearly 32,000 people signed a Change.org petition demanding that the man, Republican Del. Derrick Evans, step down.

I implied that they could have, but I disagree that they should have done that. You still have people whipped into frenzy over Waco and Ruby Ridge, and something like that - especially in polarized times such as they are right now - would light a fuse on a serious powder keg. This is not a time you want to create martyrs.

Re: Rioters storm Capital Building in DC
BTW, I'm pretty sure that if he gets impeached, he can never run again for President. Not so sure about the 25th Amendment, maybe someone else knows. Also, I'm not too sure about a self pardon.
Impeachment is a long process, will take way more than 13 days, but they can carry it far past when he leaves office. Keeps him from running again in 2024.
Food for thought.
Re: Rioters storm Capital Building in DC
You can run again under the 25th amendment. You can also run for president again if impeached, if convicted Congress determines whether that is designated. We um never really get to that part
Re: Rioters storm Capital Building in DC
This guy's gonna get Impeached for a second time, they are already talking about it, has that ever even happened before? Twice in four years! Pretty silly when there's only 12 days left in his Administration. Though he can do a lot of damage in 12 days, but he'll still be President till the 20th... They can't just dump this guy tomorrow.

We're having revolutionary waves around the world since 2019. It has to do with Millennials coming of age with the growing anti-establishment sentiment against the neoliberal power structure.
Re: Rioters storm Capital Building in DC
Millennials have already been of age. The oldest millennials turned 40 last year. It’s Gen Z that’s coming of age now in a nation in terminal decline.

Well yeah. But Millennials are already faced an economic depression and suffered from prolonged neoliberal policies that their parents kept voting for from the U.S. viewpoint.
The thing is, Millennials and the younger generations around the world are tired of the corrupt political system and are forcing changes around the world.

kamiliam, they just said on the news that if you are impeached, you cannot run for office again. Not even for Dog Catcher. It was on MSNBC. Take that for what its worth, I don't know if she knows what she's talking about. But the process can extend till after he leaves office.

so you do know that we don’t just impeach presidents right? From an political science professor in an opinion piece of why he should be removed. https://amp.theguardian.com/commenti...mpression=true
also pundits are not necessarily educated, they are entertainment
In 1862, a federal judge named West Hughes Humphreys was impeached by the House. When it came time for the Senate to pronounce judgement, the body determined that the decisions of whether to remove and whether to disqualify were separable. The Senate first voted by two-thirds majority to convict and remove Humphreys, and then took a second vote, under a simple majority requirement, to disqualify him from future federal office.

REALLY ? Now would you please let us know just exactly how much violence and mayhem IS acceptable ? How much looting ? Is it OK to loot white owned businesses but if they are owned by blacks or Latinos that is going too far ? If so, a LOT of BLM "protesters" and Anti-Fa "Freedom Fighters" did not get the memo.
Just exactly how much violence against police is acceptable ? Home invasions of the privileged excusable ?
Where could the Trumpies have possibly gotten the idea that their anarchistic behavior was acceptable or could be condoned ?
I have been very consistent - ALL violence and law breaking is wrong. BLM ; Anti-Fa ; MAGA ; I don't care who does it or why ?
