have serious concerns about the mutations. We have to develop yearly flu vaccines, so most likely we will have yearly coronavirus vaccines to deal with the variants.
Yes, this is the worst case scenario, the absolute failure and incompetence of Bolsanaro, Trump, and Boris, has allowed the virus to spread to uncontrollable levels, meaning mutations are now on the table and herd immunity is almost impossible, we have two options extreme lockdown, or new vaccines developed faster and faster to combat all variants.
Re: Life after vaccination
How long are these vaccinations even good for then? I read the clinical trials were around 3 months?
Re: Life after vaccination
As I know, you need to be vaccinated once every two months so that the body has antibodies, but the news with the formation of blood clots in vaccinated people begins to frighten me!

From all the information available and research being carried out there seems to be permanent immunity once you develop the antibodies, there has not been a case of reinfection once the patient was sick, cured, and free from lingering virus cells.
The problem is mutations, the more virus cells there are out there the more likely they are to mutate, and the more likely that mutation is more lethal, contagious, or most worrisome immune to the newly generated antibodies from the vaccine or previous infection.
The UK and South Africa variants while more dangerous are not the biggest worry (although the vaccine efficacy does drop) the big worry is the Brazillian variant, that has shown to reinfect, meaning we are back to square one if this spreads as rapidly.

Protection lasts for at least 6 months, likely longer

That's not true at all. Researchers expect immunity to last way longer than that, plus your chances of becoming disabled or dying from Covid is a million times more likely than any side effects from the vaccine. They are so rare it's ridiculously unlikely.
I notice this is your first and only post, lol seriously? You registered here just to post that?
Re: Life after vaccination
Personally I won’t be having the vaccine. It’s too new, it’s not even approved only emergency use. I have major issues with the way goverment has manipulated people into this, saying get your life back with a jab. I won’t be giving into medical tyranny personally but I think it’s an individual’s right to choose. Simply don’t trust them, think they are a bunch of liars.
This virus has a 99% survival rate so I’ll rely on my immune system.

here is an interesting pod cast discussing variants by a doctor https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JlfwWuVrYEo

There's been approximately 31.5 million covid cases in the US, and approximately 569,000 deaths, so the death rate is approximately 1 in 60. Besides, the 569,000 deaths, there are many more people with serious health problems caused by the virus. The virus has caused blood clots and damage to kidneys. I've read of one case, of a man having to get his foot amputated. There have been approximately 165 million doses of the vaccine given, and approximately zero deaths. Your odds are a lot better getting vaccinated. It's not even close. I was given my first shot a week ago, and I don't feel any differently now, than I did before I got it.
Re: Life after vaccination
^^^i agree. My friend is disabled because of covid. She was healthy and no underlying health conditions-other than being a single mom living below the poverty line.
I really want people to get the vaccine because I care, and I also respect their process.
Re: Life after vaccination
I think that it's especially important for dancers who are planning to go back to work in crowded clubs, to get vaccinated.

Well I can only go on my instincts and from what I can gather, the test wasn’t even meant to be used for such a thing. The creator of the test said so himself. People are having covid death out on their death certs even when they died of something else. Goverment mass budgets for marketing this virus too, you don’t need to pay for mass marketing when something is really, truthfully dangerous. I also have an issue with the ingredients in this vaccine, actually I have an issue with it all.
Glad you are ok after your shot. Thanks for your response. Much love x
Re: Life after vaccination
Not vaccinated and go back to my daily routine - work.
Re: Life after vaccination
I've been thinking also what will happen after the vaccination. Cuz I don't think all people in the word will be vaccinated. So the most logical things is, maybe it take's years before things back to normal. I miss the old normal. :-[

i miss it too, had to close my entire business cos it was a nightmare! Vaccine doesn’t stop people getting it, nor passing it on, just makes the symptoms less... yet another reason I won’t have it. I’ve really had to remain positive throughout the whole thing. It’s been so tough for many people, mainly in the lower economic communities where poor diets mean a lack of vit D. From what I’ve read Vit D can stop you getting it entirely, so my vaccine is an excellent diet and vitamins.
I’m not anti vax but I have a real issue with the mass manipulation through the media.
I hope everyone does what they feel is right for them and is healthy, happy and feels better for their decision xx

Yeah, I truly understand you. Cuz me also I lost my job because of it. But still had to remain positive. :)

sorry to hear that. There has been a mass wealth transfer throughout all this which no one really talks about. Luckily for me, I’m the kind of person who will be ok no matter what but my god was it tough going mentally. Really feel for many who have lost it all and have to re build business they have worked their entire lives for.

No, the vaccine prevents infection, the problem is that science moves slowly and people are desperate for answers now now now and when they don't get it they assume the worst, that it doesn't.
https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2...-Vaccines.html
Science is not a dirty politician that tells you what you want to hear, it is an empirical, logical, and experimental discipline that tells you reality as is observed.
The problem is not the vaccine, it is the Brazillian variant, and possible future variants. With zero viruses out there there is a 0 chance of mutation.

this is not what I have read. I don’t know if you may find this useful . There’s so much info out there, it’s hard to know what’s right or wrong! Anyway see what you think https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JlfwWuVrYEo

The study was released a week ago, trust me it is real, it is fact.
If it is published at a reputable journal and performed by the CDC it is as good as anything in the world.
As for the podcast can you give me a timestamp of the relevant bits? it is almost 2 hours long.

yeah I know it’s long but it’s really worth listening too, maybe while you doing chores etc . I’d be interested to know your thoughts xx

CDC is funded by bill gates who I don’t trust at all, given his efforts abroad that have made many impoverished peoples lives horrendous. X

Well this is completely wrong Bill Gates has done more for the global poor than any other philanthropist out there.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_%...pment_division
The CDC is a federal agency, its like saying you don't trust NPR because they take donations, they are still controlled by the government.
In short this is getting too conspiratorial for a science thread.

Unfortunately health has been mixed with politics, that’s not me but that’s a fact. I don’t agree with the likes of bill gates, who is a clever man but not a doctor being involved in vaccines. Not conspiracy, research yourself the damage his foundation has done abroad . Obviously you won’t find this on anything he funds such as the BBC , media outlets and deffo not his wiki page x
