I need to point out this web model had a couple things going for her that many younger ones don't- she has a supportive spouse and was already successful financially.
Good for her for doing well. MILF is an interesting category of Adult Entertainment.

She is the babe that's continously nr 1 on the contests. Admire her a lot! I think the MILF thing does really well. The older guys like a women their own age and for younger guys its often a fantasy. Makes me not afraid of becoming older, LOL.

Exactly my thought. She wasn't starting on shoestring, her children were grown, and she doesn't have to consider the impact on her career or mortgage/leasing prospects. That being said it's not an easy job for anyone and she definitely put in the work. I admire what she's done in just a few years.

It amazes me that some make 1K a day consistently. Not easy to do consistently.

Re: Article: At 42, I quit my job in property management to become a webcam model. No
I see articles like these as sheer fairy tales bc to most of us it isn't realistic IMO. I haven't had anyone supportive of my cam/sw job nor a place to stay for free or thats paid for by family or a husband to give me the chance to really work at being successful on cam as a model. Good for her but meh I don't really get excited by these tales anymore.

I also love this aspect, thinking this kind of job keeps you 'in shape' in all meanings - physically, mentally (because all of us stay witty, amazingly self controlled, focused)

I like seeing stories about successful women who don't fit the stereotypical cam girl mold. I think it takes a lot of confidence to say I'm not a hot 22 year old blonde bombshell/gamer girl, but I'm going to win anyway.

Thanks for posting; and good for her! The sky really is the limit in this line of work; but I do agree, if you have a partner, them being *truly* supportive makes all the difference. I now make more than I ever dreamed would be possible through, basically, hard work and finding a niche (almost - ha :D) that I really enjoy. (Nothing like those numbers I hasten to add and I despise OnlyFans, I just can't get it to be the success it is for others, however much I try).

I would love to have a partner to shoot for me! I'm fine with hair and makeup and making content but setting up the lights and camera and angles is too much work for me, even setting up my phone on a tripod gets annoying. I always fantasize about having a photographer partner for this reason!

Hating that too lol. All that boring tech work. Ugh! Besides it is always amazing when the camera is moving. Not possible to do it when you do it all by yourself lol

Good for her, but at some point she’ll most likely have to deal with the stigma. More power to her, but I can’t see this not biting her in the ass one day. We all have to pay the price at some point of being sexually liberated women. I hope I’m wrong, but i doubt it.

What exactly is going to bite her in the ass? She seems to be a well adjusted woman with a strong work ethic and she's flourishing.

I just mean people are crazy. I’ve been doing this long enough to see how people treat models once they find out what we do. All of sudden friends don’t want to come over and hang out. You’re at the gym and someone recognizes you and starts causing problems. Micro aggressions from “old friends.”
There was a successful lawyer who came out as a sex worker. She went to Nevada to work and was married to a supportive husband who was also a lawyer. God bless her soul. After she came out, she had a lot of problems from the other lawyers.
When people first start doing this work it’s fun when you’re making lots of money, but then when you have to deal with the stigma of SW it’s like fuck.
I hope I’m wrong. I hope she’s like fuck the haters and lives happily ever after. She’s very courageous for coming out.

Re: Article: At 42, I quit my job in property management to become a webcam model. No
I mean the only way people are going to acknowledge us as people is to be front and center. I don’t think that is what everyone wants though. I really don’t know how else we would fight the stigma.
There is an argument to be made for staying underground for profit. In terms of human rights, however, being open is the best insurance that she will be safe.
And of course she had advantages that lead to her success. That can be found in the tops of any industry.

This is very very true. Having a close proximity to wealth and influential connections may take you further a lot faster than someone who doesn't have that. I don't want to go too far off topic with assumptions about this woman's life because I don't know her. But I suspect she'll be okay.

Sorry I guess, I was projecting my own patriarchal trauma.
“ no lady don’t out yourself as cam model.” You’re going to get destroyed. Gods speed to her and to every other courageous sex worker that’s brave enough to be out. Praying for their abundance, safety, and well-being.

It's ok, we all are thinking the same in the subconscious, because that's how we were raised and programmed. It's still not easy to come out, i am sure it wasn't easy for her either, but in the same time, look at how it was 10 years ago and how it is today. People start to be a little more tolerant. We can't expect to change everything over night and have everyone hug and congratulate us for what we do, but at least you can filter people more easy, because you can tell out loud what you do. And from there, people split in two and you'll know who's worthy to keep around.
If I was so succesful, i wouldn't be ashamed to come out either ;D;D

Well the thing is, in a perfect world we could all be out there.
There are very real consequences and dangers both to herself and to her children. Especially when children are small and in school the bullying could be brutal.
Of course everyone can be found out but there's a difference in being totally out there and doing interviews and things.
I just feel safer for myself and for my family keeping a low profile.

Bravo to her for her courage and bravery!
I regret coming out to my family, as one in particular gave me a lot of grief but I just got tired of making up stories. I'm not a very good liar either. lol

I didn't START till I was 'older'. There are many many if us out here making bank :)
Also I don't think it's fair to say she had a headstart by having a supportive partner and money to get equipment. Sure that helps of course, but having already had a career before and lots of experience with both men and people in general, she will have had many solid transferable skills that got her off to a good start. I know that being more mature with life experience definitely helped me!
Re being out, noooo fuck that. Fuck fighting 'stigma'. The average Joe does not care that sex workers are real people and deserve respect blah blah blah. I wish people would quit trying to legitimise sexwork in the public's eye, all it achieves is further saturation of our market by attracting more competition. Keep it WAY underground and more ££ for everyone and less stress (from the inevitable slut shaming). Loose lips sink ships'!
