I am sure you made a killing with your prediction, show your portfolio.
Sorry. Not going to play silly games. Have an awesome day.
minnesota police training manual allows putting the knee to the back of the neck when restraining an individual
Chauvin was also fired and Andy Skoogman, executive director of the Minnesota Chiefs of Police, said the hold that Chauvin used on Floyd isn’t taught in police training, Fox News reported.
“I think there’s a national narrative, or there had been last week, that police officers in Minnesota are being trained in the technique that Derek Chauvin used and that is simply not the case,” Skoogman said. “It is the furthest from the truth that that exists. We did condemn the actions of the officer, not only the technique used by Derek Chauvin but the lack of empathy shown by the other officers on the scene.”
Eric, I went far beyond merely recognizing that he did not deserve to be treated that way. I was shouting it from the pulpit with an "amen." Indeed the whole point of my post was that the police simply do not have the right to treat anyone that way, even a despicable human being like Floyd.
But on the side note that you made the major emphasis of your response, I stand by my complete post, including the characterizations of Floyd. "Flawed and troubled addict" doesn't come close to describing him. He hurt people. A lot of people.
For NINE MINUTES? Nobody can hold their breath for that long. Wrap the guy up, get him back to the precinct. You can't just strangle the guy. I watched that footage and it made me sick to my stomach. What a fucking stupid ass Derek Chauvin is, now he's not only lost his career, but he's also on trial for MURDER. Pretty high price to pay for showing off for three trainees.
WHAT a moron!
I watched some of the defense and prosecution of day 1, not much today. What I don't understand is that Floyd was already in the back of the police cruiser. Why not just shut the doors and leave him there? I get he started thrashing around, but why did they have to drag him out, in cuffs just to subdue him? Let him tire himself out, drive to the station and book him.
I did at least listen in on the kids testimony. The defense was like "No questions." Kids tell it like they saw it. No illusions, just what they saw. The defense was fucked with them.
^^^I mean you’re the one who brought it up. ??
I agree Floyd was not a solid citizen. You could even say he was a "bad guy". Calling him a "mutt" dehumanizes him .
I watched some of the trial. Thought all three civilian witnesses were VERY effective. So was the female firefighter. The cross by the defense of the two of them was ineffective. Nothing to damage their credibility. The fact that both cursed out Chauvin in the heat of the moment ; while they were watching him kill Floyd is quite understandable. In summation that can be turned back against Chauvin : " Of course they were cursing the defendant. They were watching him choke the life out of a handcuffed victim lying on the ground with steady pressure on his neck for NINE minutes. What does the defense expect the proper reaction to be ? Applause ? Cheers ? Silence ? There is only one person who approves of what the defendant did and who is not the least bit sorry and that's the defendant. "
Please re-read what I posted. Humor ? Sarcasm ? Tongue in cheek ? I am certainly not always right but I am rarely wrong LOL ! One or two of you need to lighten up and maybe develop a sense of humor. To quote Letterman : Some of you could use comedy lessons. Now let's try to focus on the trial, shall we ?
Firstly, again, people know how to read, secondly, you can insert as many ‘Lols’ and ‘just kiddings’ as you want but this is still obviously a statement:
Especially when you repeated it in your ‘clarification of humor.’ Btw if no one here thinks you’re funny or recognizes your ‘humor’, maybe you’re the one who needs the comedy lessons...?
Completely agree.
"Bait " ???? And the motive is WHAT ? If it is "bait" as you call it then you are responding to it, why ? If it constitutes "bait" ( for what I have no idea ) then wouldn't you be best off just ignoring it ? You don't like the topic ? You think it is too inflammatory or emotional ? What exactly is your problem ? If anyone is doing any "baiting " it is probably you by choosing to attack me instead of focusing ion the topic at hand. I think it is possible you are deliberately trying to pick a fight in the hopes that the thread gets shut down ? Why ? If the subject matter bothers you then just ignore the thread. If you don't like my posts then don't read them. But whatever you do, have a great day !
Just because you fail to appreciate my humor is not in the least bit discouraging. Most people think I am hilarious.
I ignored the bait of the murder trial, still am. What I found amusing is your confidence that "predictions" about gas prices gives you street cred. When the only street cred I accept is a screenshot of your portfolio showing when you made your bets, and how much you have earned from them. Oil commodities trading is not that obscure.
OK. I get it. Finally . I honestly did not know where you were coming from. Thank you for going slowly.
I've discussed my investments on this board before. Have for years in fact. So what ? Anyone and everyone is free to believe it or not ; take it for what it's worth ; whatever.
I also predicted higher inflation and higher interest rates. So far I am right about inflation while the jury is out on interest rates. I've added some more physical gold to my holdings. Not much. Just enough to survive a short term period of runaway inflation. I've also put some cash into TIPS. Again, not much.
Any further discussion along these lines belongs in Dollar Den. Don't you agree ?
