Horror Movies
OK, apparently my last thread fell flat, but I'm trying to get us off Politics. So here goes.
I like some, but not all. Take this for example...
A Nightmare on Elm Street: Probably one of the best Ghost Stories told in the past fifty years. Maybe ever. That aura of menace around Freddy Kruger... He doesn't speak much but you know this Ghost means fucking business.
A Nightmare on Elm Street 2, Freddy's Revenge: This has got to be one of the most unintentionally GAY movies I have ever seen! Freddy SPANKS this kid! They were trying for horror but it didn't land. I mean, it's OK to make a Gay horror story, but if you didn't mean to do it?
A Nightmare on Elm Street 3, Dream Warriors: OK, better. I like the characters and the script, but this is the one where Freddy turns into a cartoon character. Completely unrecognizable from the first one. But all in all, i dug it. Plus a very young Patricia Arquette was in it.
A Nightmare on Elm Street 4, whatever the fuck it was called: Patricia Arquette was killed off immediately, and that sucks. I remember sort of liking the movie, but I haven't felt the need to watch it again. I guess it was OK.
A Nightmare on Elm Street 5, the Dream Child: This is an exorcise in how you DON'T DO THIS. I have nothing against the Actors or (Maybe) the Director, or even maybe the screenwriter (though I would have put up more of a fight). They had a Movie poster, a release date set in stone, NO SCRIPT. How the fuck do you do that? What the fuck are the Actors supposed to do with that? It's no wonder this movie came out like Dr. Frankenstein put it together. Nightmare 5 does have one of the most interesting scenes in the series, though (The one where Freddy's Mom tells him to fuck off in the church). Nightmare 5 works scene by scene, but as a whole it falls flat.
A Nightmare on Elm Street 6: The less said about this, the better. It's TERRIBLE. I liked the Heroine, but the movie's just fucking shitty. I mean Freddy kills a kid jumping around like he's a Super Mario Brother or something.
And don't get me started on the Friday the 13th movies. They're all BAD, but for the 10th one. That one is so B-Movie, it's hard not to like it.

Re: Horror Movies
I can't believe there was a SECOND Friday the 13th movie much less TEN! The whole goddamned series is godawful!

Re: Horror Movies
If you wanna watch a good Horror story, check out The Mist, or Mama. Mama is more of a Horror Fable. The Mist is just straight up Horror.
