What are your goals in traveling? I'd think that if you're just looking to make money and minimize expenses, then Texas would be a decent place to stay right now. So I'm assuming you want to travel for other reasons. Are you looking to see certain areas, tour for certain attractions, etc.? :)
they passed a new law in tx that you have to be 21+ to dance in all clubs now, I'm under 21 so Texas is out the picture for me at the moment.
I wasnt aware tx did that too. I know oklahoma did for sure. To be fair Texas was really bad about letting like 18 year olds drink and so was Oklahoma so I see why both states would do this.
Minneapolis would be fine with you andi think indiana and Nebraska are fine letting 18 yr olds dance. I dont remember with Florida and some other places. Oregon too but they wont let you hustle the floor so f that in your case.
In general just call ahead everywhere to be sure though.
Omg i had totally forgotten that about Oregon!! I worked with an 18 year old who was like kept in a pen for her entire shift, couldn't work the floor. It was so weird!! Had forgotten about that until i saw your post. Anyway... haha
Wisconsin allows nude, alcohol, and 18+ unless something has changed since i worked there.
Ty for the info babes I'll check it out. has anyone tried any southern states out ?
I live in texas and I heard about the new law. Definitely lame. I would say Louisiana but I think they passed a similar law a few years ago. I danced in Florida and Alabama around 2010-2013. Both states were good. I worked in mobile and made pretty good money but I’m not sure the clubs I worked at there are still open. Florida was good also, Pensacola, Panama City had fun clubs. I was last there summer of 2012
I traveled to Minneapolis from Atlanta for this week with no luck on getting hired anywhere. They don't seem to be traveler friendly. They do have 2 or 3 18+ clubs but they don't sell liquor. I even had hard time getting an audition at the underage clubs. This doesn't seem like a summer time city for traveling girls. They seem to want to reserve money for their local ladies (which is understandable). But damn I could have stayed home in Atlanta :-\
One of my best tips for travel dancing is to follow $$$$ events, conventions, and conferences as opposed to fixating on a particular state. Because then you are literally following the money. Google will help guide you. Though right now I'm not sure what is or isn't happening because of Covid. If you're ever asked about an out-of-state ID, you can lie and say that you just moved and haven't gotten it updated yet. They might not buy it, but it's a solid excuse.
I guess in the future just call ahead and try to drill the shit out of whoever answers the phone. Also make sure you can drive so if somewhere is a bust you go somewhere you can at least recoup some of your investment and start to profit at some point.
I'm sorry if someone went to Minneapolis based on my post. When I was there it wasnt travel friendly but at least half the clubs will hire you despite being nonlocal if they like you and if they know you plan on working at least a week or longer. Also back when I was there there were plenty of under 21s at Rick's in Minneapolis which is a liquor club so I think the 18 yr old teeny boppers can work at liquor clubs unless it's changed. The clubs also loved the 18 19 20 year olds. So idk maybe the whole game has changed there. I dunno what to say. I would still go back if I could get around a barrier that is preventing me from going out of town for weeks at a time like I used to. If Minneapolis failed I'd probably go to des moines or chicago or any smaller place in between that at least has room upsells so that customers realize $25 ain't shit.
Def avoid CA due to the stupid employee thing now & not even sure if half the clubs are even open anymore. Florida was meh for me, NOLA was decent at one time. I say make a list of all 50 states & call clubs in each one you are thinking of beforehand and ask to speak to a mngr or send him audition pics so you can be approved ahead of time.
Would always encourage you guys to call and research clubs ahead of time instead of relying solely on forum advice, especially if you're traveling long distances to work.
We do our best to give good advice, but things change, and clubs can react VERY differently depending on the region, hiring manager on staff, and the girl who is auditioning. No one on here can give "one size fits all" advice - YMMV.
NYC! My home club here is amazing right now.
Do NOT travel to NYC ^. There are much better places for traveling dancers

Hi, Everyone, especially those at increased risk of severe illness from COVID-19, and people who live with them, should avoid non-essential travel. Travel increases your chance of spreading and getting COVID-19. CDC recommends that you do not travel at this time.
People gotta work my guy
