Go for it. If the manager is cool with you over there, then the customers should definitely be. The vast majority of clubs I’ve worked at had at least one 40+ dancer.
I danced until I was 46, then the club closed due to the pandemic. I don't think I'll be going back because the club had a lot of negative energy right before I left, and after fifteen years of dancing, I'm pretty much burned out. But I say go for it! They were a lot of women at my club who were over 40, some who were even over 50.
Even if you looked like JLo, the clubs in my area don't seem to to hire anyone over a certain age.
Always worth a try tho.
There are plenty, including many members here who are 40+ and banking. Give it a try.
Sometimes I feel like the managers hire the younger ladies 18-23 so they can prey on them and lack of experience to take advantage of them. Most women who are older take no shit.
41 and dancing at Rick's on Bourbon Street.
Do you tell customers your real age?
If that body looking good then why not
A lot of dancers park in the lot on Rampart and Conti, or at meters.
40 and still dancing
Which shift would you guys suggest for a 40 year old dancer? I haven't danced in ten years and I have no idea what the market is like now. During my dancing career from 2002-2011 I noticed my earnings would fluctuate based on shift/weekday vs weekend depending on my age range/ point in my career. I remember day shift had very successful dancers in their 40s twenty years ago, but they had lots of regulars and I got married ten years ago so I haven't kept in contact with any so I would be starting at square one. Any suggestions on shift/day/ type of club? I used to work at upscale gentleman's clubs before and that worked for me but I have no idea how the industry has changed or what would be the best fit for me at this point Thanks in advance.
^ If you’re just trying to ease back into it, maybe King of Diamonds? Haven’t been there in two years but there was a lot of older dancers on the 4-9 dayshift. It’s not big money but it’s easy money and might not be a bad way to get used to things again before going to the higher house fee downtown clubs. No idea what downtown is like at the moment.
Or if not there, maybe the clubs just north of Minnesota? Or the one or two clubs just outside there in Wisconsin?
I’m around there.
Made $400 last time I was at the club. :)
^ Thanks for the suggestion. I actually have a friend who works at KOD on that shift...she really likes it but she has been dancing for years and has lots of regs..so I'm sure that influences her perspective. I probably would not be interested in dancing downtown again. Even when I was younger older guys were always my crowd. I honestly don't have alot of patience for the party/ younger/ rowdy crowd
at this point in my life. Slower day shifts wouldn't bother me as long as I'm not wasting time. I just need some source of income while my husband transitions careers. Do you have any clubs in Northern MN or Wisconsin? I'd Even be willing to travel to the Northern in North Dakota if it would be worth it. Thanks for the suggestions.
