Yeah ! ^
I bought a monthly membership for unlimited classes at a local pole studio. They have silks too, which is cool because I haven't tried them. I'm planning to go every other day. Will hopefully tone me up and maybe give me some new moves for work.
That's awesome! Funny how you feel better right away, then once you see results it's like yay! It's working!
Feels good to be back in a gym.
I did abs and legs today. Went running at the beach yesterday. I just like how it makes me feel calmer. And happier.
Been eating cleaner too. Less diet coke and heavy meals. Eating a lot of salads, cooked veggies and Greek yogurt and nuts. Staying away from rice and pasta.Cut caffeine out so that I won't produce too much estrogen, which can contribute to weight gain.
I've just started tracking on myfitness pal and realised I'm having nowhere near enough protein. My trainer has been telling me to check for ages because i have this habit of yawning during sessions and it really bugs him. So now I know. Veggies need to keep extra close check on their protein intake.
I take DIM supplements to rid my body of excess estrogen. It helps to take it if you want to prevent fibroids and breast cancer. I try to eat a lot of cruciferous vegetables too.
I noticed at my gym today, almost everyone was wearing masks. Some people were diligent with cleaning the machines. It's a 2 level place and very open-air which I like. Good ventilation. And they're constantly cleaning the bathroom too. Also, the shower rocks! Heading back in tomorrow for upper body day.
I've been really good with working out the last few weeks, I'm back on track. I have my first hike coming up this week, my resolution this year is to do a lot more nature stuff. My main goal now is MEDITATING DAILY. Idk why it is so hard for me to do this when I know so well what miracles meditation does. :swami::meditate:
G you are reminding me to meditate more, too. It really does work wonders on your overall health and well-being.
I'm going to get my butt back in the gym and do the stair climber again! I just started doing it regularly this year and I'm dripping in sweat when I'm done-I feel like I get a way better workout on that than the treadmill and elliptical machines. I had been doing the treadmill and elliptical for years and I felt like I was stuck in a rut and needed a change. I still do them, but I try to do each cardio machine 1-2 days per week to work out a variety of my muscles and so I don't get bored with the gym. :)
I just hate going to the gym the first couple weeks in January because it's crowded with all the New Year's Resolutions people. LOL Maybe I'll try to go really late at night like midnight when it's more likely to be almost empty-I hate crowds!
I've been doing really well going to the gym on a regular basis. I'm pretty much in there to do a little cardio, mostly weights, and of course a shower. Decided to add some cardio later in the day, when it's sunset I go for a run by the beach. I don't want to do my cardio in the gym when I can do it outside. It feels safer that way.
Okay I have still been doing good with my workouts but still not being consistent with meditating. I also don't know what I have been doing differently but I have been seeing definition in body parts that I usually don't and so now I'm also trying to lean out because it would look really good if my bf% was lower.
^ I am doing doing well too but still 1-2 pounds " over " the BMI recommendation. I just want to be within that damn recommendation.
I'm 5'8'' and 165-166 most days.
I'd like to see a 164 number soon ( and stay there a long time ).
I'm kind of addicted to eating out at times and so I know that's where that extra 2-3 lbs is coming from ( that habit ). I got a bunch or thin chicken / firm tofu / fresh veg today to make 3-4 dinners out of .
This is not bad though because I have seen a 185 number on scale before ( thankfully that's been more than 2 years ago ).
I have a fitness question. I understand that your body will burn more calories at rest when you are weight training. My question is, will my body burn more calories when I'm doing cardio if I'm also doing weight training? More so than if I wasn't doing weight training?
If you're trying to build muscle, i think research is currently advising people to do cardio on a separate day. But if you're trying to maximize fat loss, doing some cardio after you lift is a good idea. From what I've read, i think the body does burn more fat when doing cardio after lifting since your body has exhausted its glycogen stores at that point. But fitness gurus, correct me if I'm wrong!
^Thank you Charlie. I've been doing a combo of lifting and cardio to whittle myself down.
I need to go running tomorrow, outside by the ocean. The gym opens later tomorrow and I hate the Sat morning crowd who doesn't mask.
I'm down 5 lbs. It's taken me a month. At least I'm heading in the right direction.
It’s time I get a little more serious about my health and fitness goals and I’m hoping posting here and joining y’all will help me stay more accountable. I’ve been kickboxing for about a year but I’ve hardly made an effort to go since before the holidays. I’m noticing more than ever that my clothes are getting tighter and not fitting how I’d like them too. The biggest change when I workout more consistently is the confidence I get. I swear I feel like I look like a million bucks on the days I work out and total opposite the days I don’t. I have always been very active and very into fitness in years past so I know what so need to do. I just need to stop making excuses and do it… I woke up early today and decided to just go to kickboxing instead of staying in bed for a little longer. Tomorrow I think I’ll go again unless I’m too sore in which case I’ll go for a HIIT run
I also need to make a conscious effort to stretch more. I think even 10 mins before bed at night would make a difference. I’m 28 but nothing makes me feel like I’m ancient more than when I go a while without stretching and I lose my flexibility.
Ugh I gotta hit the gym soon, I'm getting chubby enough to look like the Super Shibe meme.
I am obsessed with Shiba Inu and Husky breeds, my pinterest has a dedicated board with those dogs :)). Planning to get one when I move at the country side. I already have 2 stray dogs adopted, so I need to pick between Shiba and Husky. Can't have 4 dogs lol. Probably gonna pick Shiba.
