Real Talk Though......COVID changed my life in ways I never wanted to imagine.
It's been rough for a lot of people.
I was holding a baby the other day.
N apparently babies (at least not this one) don’t like masks (unless it’s probably some fun kid character mask that covers the whole face) because this baby snatched my mask off.
I was mask assaulted ……. By a dang 6 month old baby Lol!!
Good thing the baby is cute
Laughing my ass off as Dr. Fauci says do not attend gatherings of (don’t quote me on this) 30 or more people. Ha Ha. I’m around at least a hundred people a week no distancing or masking. I’m vaccinated and I got my booster. So far so good. Haven’t got covid yet. Testing myself before I go home to see my mom for the holidays.
Are you all still working? Stay healthy everyone

BOSTON — Today the Massachusetts Department of Public Health released a review of breakthrough COVID-19 cases in vaccinated Massachusetts residents and found nearly 97% of all breakthrough cases in the Commonwealth have not resulted in hospitalization or death. Additionally, the review found unvaccinated residents are five times more likely to become infected than fully vaccinated residents (two doses of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine or one dose of Johnson & Johnson) and unvaccinated residents are 31 times more likely to become infected than fully vaccinated residents who have received a booster.
I think we've finally come to realize that it's not going away. Even the formerly melodramatic talking heads, who are getting it now themselves thanks to resurgences in population centers like NY, Boston and DC, are finally accepting what many understood a year or longer ago. It's time for common sense now, especially given that this new variant seems much milder than the previous versions. Indeed if there was ever a time to let this wash through our younger population in order to increase natural population resistance it is probably now.
I haven’t been at the club for almost a week, and got messaged that four people from there came down with Covid. I got nervous and got tested. I’m negative. Glad I don’t have to cancel visiting people for the holidays ;D

He says the vaccine should provide good coverage for severe illness and immune escape variant unlikely to emerge that completely evades the vaccines.
Lawd have mercy! I thought Florona was the new name for Floridians and the Rona, but nope!

3 of my antivax friends have covid. Fortunately they're not that sick.
Blessed I never got covid. It's completely a miracle. I just want covid to go away as fast as my dogs gas. Basically both me and my dogs can fart up a room. It's like they came out my womb with farting abilities they got from me hahaha.
My grandma who was unvaccinated actually just died from covid. I begged her to get it and well she was a Trump supporter so naturally those southern folks don't feel the need to get the shot. It sucks to have lost her I just got my booster 2 weeks ago and feel pretty good for the future in terms of going out.
im so sorry for your loss. Being relatively young and vaccinated, I feel safe. But yes still aware of covid and how it can affect the unvaccinated and vulnerable. I’m sorry. I really hope people come around to getting vaccinated, as it seems like the best way out of the pandemic. I’m sorry our politicians care more about politics than protecting their citizens and basically are sacrificing them for their political gain. So awful and disgusting how this has been politicized. Yes people have legit reasons to be concerned about big pharma and I’m not judging, but obviously it’s heartbreaking to hear about preventable deaths.
You did all you could. May she rest in peace
I'm sorry about your grandma, GB. It's horrible how tRump lied/miseducated ppl about this virus and the vaccine. I'm glad to know you're vaccinated. I've been nagging my son to get boosted.
Welp I got it - tested positive yesterday, vaxxed and boosted. I had a great new years eve / day too. Now I feel "man sick" which means I have a slight sore throat, scratchy cough and fatigue, but I am going to milk this for all it's worth and moan and groan a lot.
I know I got it on a plane over the holidays. If you fly, wear an N95. I wore a standard "blue".
But seriously, Omicron does not care if you are vaxxed, get boosted and wear your N95, and prepare to get it.
UGH! And on today's episode of "Is it a cold...allergies...the flu...or Covid-19?"
Really ridiculous how hard it is to get a Covid test! Either they require you have a vehicle for their drive-thru testing (I can't walk up to the window), or a doctor's referral is required first (Great...let's waste more time), or you can't get an appointment time for like a week. And the at-home tests that were available in the grocery store, CVS, Walgreens, etc. are being bought up by people so quickly. And then those of us who actually have symptoms are screwed.
Hope you feel better soon!
Absolutely wear n95 mask on a plane cause it’s some trifling people who know they’re sick and they are desperate to get their needs met to hell with everyone else. Plus the plane is just recirculating the same air n there is no ventilation. Though I think they should figure a way to it some nontoxic germicide in the air.
Also, I’ve noticed is even people who are vaccinated are catching it.
People think I’m batshit crazy when I’m level 10 OCD wearing masks all the cotdamn time, being ruthless about getting away from people who are even slightly sick, telling people to back tf up if they stand too close to me, AND sanitizing high touch surfaces like crazy…….but so far (knock on wood) I’ve avoided it despite a couple of scares that turned out to be cold/sinus.
I stopped working outside my home, stopped going into crowded stores, stopped hanging out with people in person who weren’t taking precautions, and I haven’t traveled by plane, etc because of it.
Whatever. I don’t mind
I think the supply should be back to normal in a couple months.
The medical community warned us that cases typically rise during winter months when people are holed up inside together with no masks because who wears masks inside their own home or when walking into family home?
Anyhow my point is once the spring hits I think there will be less cases (because you can step outside n do more activities outside so you don’t have to wear masks and more easily social distance) your and more tests available.
ihealth COVID test available on Amazon for $18 for a two pack. Not sure how long it will take to ship n deliver but at least there is something in stock to order.
Sadly, BineX COVID test is in short supply. You’re lucky if you find it at Walmart Sams club or Walgreens.
Thanks - I am hanging in there. It is like a cold, but with mind altering (not kidding) properties, i.e. strange dreams, artificial physical anxiety, etc so far. Obviously I am lucky, there are people who have gone through much worse.
I was vaxxed and boostered, and so many people I know who have never had it now have gotten it who are fully vaxxed. They say I'll be better in a few days, but I'm not sure. I'll post whatever happens.
As far as masks go, N95s, which you couldn't get for love or money 18 months ago, are now widely available. I was working my way through a box of blues, which are effectively useless against Omicron. I have a big box of N95s now.
^ive interchangeably used n95 and regular masks. But until the spring when cases taper down I’ll wear the n95 only.
This reminds me of when my mom was offended I showed up to her house in a face mask and she was like “what are you doing? Ain’t no COVID over here!”
As if you can see COVID floating in the air around you lol!
I’m not taking any chances ……
I don’t get paid sick days so I don’t even take the risk
