Relax: YOU'RE not BEING WATCHED
Did anyone bother to learn these devices transmit 5 inches tops!! That is all the power which can be transmitted to the device to turn it on. Otherwise you need a battery. And the current smallest is a 1/4 inch, not a grain of sand.
The only thing they are good for is tracking inventory. And this article and the newspaper article also failed to mention that the cameras were there not to monitor customers, but to test the effectiveness of the tool at tracking inventory. Furthermore, the clients photographed were informed by a sign that there was a camera pointed there. The only way to know if it was correctly reporting was to either have a person standing there or film it.
Imagine how much electical noise a Walmart store would have in it if it tranmitted more than inches. More than the total radio frequencies of radio, tv and microwave signals.
Look for something real to complain about. Your cell phone already tells the phone company where you are to a few feet. A cell phone is a radio and all you need is tree towers to triangulate its position. You are already on more surveilance cameras than you would believe. Remember the images of the 9/11 hijackers in diners and at ATM's. Got Onstar? It has a GPS system that can tell them where you are. Got Lojack, IT transmits too.
All these claims were also made about bar codes in the 1970s, including that people would be forced to be tattooed. with bar codes.
Complain about your pharmacu selling your perscription information, and the use of NAZi-cards at stores. Not this bogus canard. Privacy is too important to waste the effort.
