Vent- Obnoxious customers
Arrrgh.
I'm an irritable person by nature. I realize this and give folks lots of leeway, knowing that it's probably just me and that they aren't purposefully trying to piss me off. But last night... I swear....
Very first table I sat at:
Me: Hi! Hope you gentlemen are having a good time so far. May I join you?
Customer 1 (pulls out chair for me to sit): Can we get laid in the VIP room?
Me (blink blink): Excuse me?
What a way to start the evening. But wait! There's more! First VIP dance, the guy farted. Yes, he farted. Lovely.
Met a Mr. Grabby Asshole (it figures...). Spent a five minute conversation dodging wet kisses and hands. Agreed on a tableside dance; unfortunately, this fellow believed that he could get a VIP-worthy dance for one-third the cost by simply going tableside.
"Why won't you take off your clothes?"
"Because this is a tableside dance."
"Why can't I grab your ass?"
"Because this is a tableside."
"Can I lick you?"
"No."
"Why the hell won't you sit on my lap? What sort of lap dance is this?"
"It's a tableside dance. One foot is required to be on the floor at all times."
"Well, can I at least lick you? I'm paying good money for this dance."
"No."
Afterwards, I hold out my garter for payment. He won't budge, just looks at my garter. "I only have a twenty."
Thinking to myself, "For Christ's sake, asshole..." "You still have to pay me."
"But I only have a twenty."
"I danced for you, you pay me. Deviation from that is why we have bouncers."
"Can't you give me change?"
"As you can see, John, I have no money on me. Try the bartenders."
"Okay. You wait right here." (riiiiiiight...)
Next table, two fellows out for a beer. One of them tips me a five and buys me a drink in order to get me to stay there. He wants a dance, but not right now. "In a minute, when I finish my beer." Thus started a marathon event. I leave, check back in twenty-thirty minutes. He tips me a dollar or two to sit, reminds me that we have a dance planned and tells me "In a minute.. smoking a cigarette." Leave again, come back again. Repeat ad nauseum. Three hours later, I tell him that this will be my last offer. He whines that I'm not fair. I remind him that he's kept me waiting for three hours and I have other customers. What does he say? "In a minute... I'm not ready yet. Come back soon."
Hmmphh.
I had two great customers, which somewhat made up for the pain in the arse guys but not totally. One rather happy Mr. Lonely and a talkative Mr. Computer. It's a good thing I had those two, otherwise I would have probably not been able to hide my pissy streak. The crowd was terrible; from the dressing room chatter, it seems that I wasn't the only girl plagued by assholes last night.
Bah. Don't you hate nights like that?

Re: Vent- Obnoxious customers
Yes, that sounds like a shitty night. Hang in there it probably means you're going to have a fantastic night soon. Besides it gives you great material to talk about
:)

Re: Vent- Obnoxious customers
Trust me Lilith, I'm an incredibly irritable person too. I think I say about 50 times a day, double if I'm working, that "I hate everyone and everyone is pissing me off". Seems like everyone is out to get me and I get alot of arrogant, pompous, ignorant, pretentious customers. So your not alone. Hope you have a better night tomorrow.

Re: Vent- Obnoxious customers
Other side. Went to a club, sat by stage for the current dance, was immediately hit up by the dancer for a private, declined for the moment, never saw her again. Irritating dancer is next, and I leave the stage, sit at the table, and get a soft drink. Fifteen minutes later, after smiling at girls, them smiling back and not slowing down, I leave with a few hundreds of dollars still slumbering in my pocket. (On a side note, the waitress playfully grabbed my pec as she walked by, and I tipped her a five. That was the high note.)
But at least I've got the choice of leaving. I'm sorry about your night, Lilith.

Re: Vent- Obnoxious customers
since we're venting...I have to talk about this one guy on Sunday night.
This guy came up to me and asked for a $10 dance (they are $20). I told him no, I couldn't do that, that it was $20. He was adamant about getting the $10 dance. I just don't have the time to bargain for a dance when there are guys willing to pay full price. So, I walked away (although I will admit that it was kind of in a snobby way, like with my nose up in the air as I rolled my eyes)....anyway, the asshole KICKED ME IN THE ANKLE! I almost fell, but I didn't. I just turned around and looked at him and he kind of smiled/giggled.
I was so pissed. I tried to compose myself and move on, but I couldn't shake it. I eventually went upstairs to cry.
I can handle rude and obnoxious, but that guy was vengeful! I was so upset.

Score One for the Ladies...
Sorry to hear that ya'll have had bad experiences as of late.
I was at a club a while ago and this obnoxious guy pulls this girl over to the table for a dance. She dances one song for him while trying to fight his hands away. When it's over, she politely asks if he wants any more dances. He says, "No," and just sits there, so she asks for him to pay for the dance he had. He says, "No, it wasn't that good." She says, "Let's see what the bouncer has to say about that." She starts to walk away and as she does, he stands up and grabs her on the a**. She turns around and with all her might, slaps him in the face and says, "Don't ever touch me. " It almost knocked the guy off of is his feet. He was so embarrassed that he went the other direction. I tipped the girl $20 for giving the guy what he deserved, and then we both laughed about it. The guy was escorted out of the club.

Re: Vent- Obnoxious customers
OMG. I hate customers like that. It's so hard to put on a smile and have a positve attitude after something like that. But we've all got to. Just remember the good customers you have and try not to let the assholes get to you. (I know, easier said than done).
-
Re: Vent- Obnoxious customers
I am glad no customer has ever felt the need to be super grabby, rude or spiteful to me. Emily, if I was in your position I probably would have walked to the dressing room in shock and found the girl who always has her stun gun and zapped his ass, really really well and then told the bouncer. That is so wild, what did your club do to him?
As for the girl who socked the guy, yeah it made her feel good, but if he decked her ass after it things wouldn't have been so funny. I'll possibly stun gun a customer if he gets rude enough, like the emily stunt, but only if the club is crowded and I can play it off and disappear in the crowd.Kinda like what they did on Casino to the cheaters with the cow prod. I would never hit a customer cuz I have seen em hit back, deserved and undeserved sometimes and the bottom line is that the average guy has more power in his punch than I do. I'll fight a guy in everyday life in a minute, most of the fights in my lifetime were with guys. However, in those damn shoes and outfits with nothing to really protect you and all the hard surfaces in the club chances are you'll be hurt bad. Fighting in stripper shoes isn't like fighting in jeans and a hoody with a good pair of Nikes on and all your jewelery and earrings already removed.
Lets just try to focus on the good customers and let the assholes continue to do what they do best annoy themselves. The good customers make it all worthwhile, but funny enough it only takes one asshole to ruin the party. Hope everyone's club clientele gets better or the asshole quotient gets smaller, either way is an improvement.

Re: Vent- Obnoxious customers
The club kicked the guy out who kicked my ankle. I didn't want to make a big deal about it because it was the end of the night, but the manager was feeling protective (and of course I appreciate that!)
Red, you reminded me of a guy last night.... I was going around for tips at the beginning of my shift and this guy put a dollar in his mouth. I really hate that because of course they want to stick it in that way. So I said "no" as he was inserting the dollar in his mouth and held out my hand. I guess that was kind of rude, but whatever...he didn't really deserve anything else. Anyway, he put the dollar right back in his pocket and said "whatever, if you don't want it..."
I said "oh, I want the dollar, just not your slobbery mouth all over me". That was kind of bitchy, but oh well. it's just a dollar. No sweat off my nose. Those guys don't usually turn out to be the big spenders. Why is it that the big spenders are so much more polite than the grabby assholes?
We'd get fired for hitting a customer, even if he's in the wrong (and of course he usually is)
-
Re: Vent- Obnoxious customers
DD,
You could always take the shoe off and deck the guy with it. Those heels look like they would hurt if they hit you in the side of the head. ;)
Emily,
The club was crowded that night and I know everyone that saw it was on the dancer's side. Unfortunately that is not always the case for you ladies, because some of the clubs only care about their beer money and don't give a rat's a** about anything else. This club is pretty good about taking care of the ladies.
All I know is that I could not deal with what y'all have to put up with. Kudos :) I just try to be a good customer.

Re: Vent- Obnoxious customers
It drives me up the wall when guys try to monopolize a dancer's time when she's onstage as if they were hunks out of modeling school [argh] and others are waiting, tip in hand. In clubs where offstage lap dances for tips are allowed these same types insist that the girls keep lapdancing for them when there are other clients. If I don't want to tip a particular dancer for whatever reason I try to move away so that she can move around the stage, but I sure as hell don't try to be a smartass or an imitation batterer, disrespectful of dancers.
-
Re: Vent- Obnoxious customers
Emily, that would have made me cry too.
And since this is the bitching thread...
Monday night at work I'm doing a couch dance. This guy keeps trying to put his hands and mouth on my breasts, and I'm dodging and moving. After he doesn't get that hint I tell him not to be a naughty boy and get me in trouble with the managers. He says he doesn't want any more dances. fine
Second customer, and again, trying to grab my boobs the whole time. Well I try to play nice about dodging his hands because I already saw he's carrying several hundreds. After 3 dances hes getting grabbier so I finally have to tell him that it is against the rules. I see him make a face and look over. I follow his gaze and at the next couch is another dancer with both her customers hands cupping each breast, him just sucking away. Ugh. That customer of course doesn't want anymore dances with me. I see him later spending all that cash on another dancer who let him squeeze and suck away all night. ::)

Oh believe me, they don't think they're hunks out of modeling school, they just think they need to get their "dollar's worth", and they do it by talking bs, or taking FOREVER to give up the dollar, or not letting go of it when she tries to take it, or whatever stupid tactic they have. It's bs and pisses us off! And of course it pisses off the other customers who are waiting....

Re: Vent- Obnoxious customers
Alot of dancers are becoming put off by doing Friday shift because of bad crowds (potential customers). Some dancers don't like Saturday however I love it... Saturday shift means there is going to be a Bucks Party or five in the door... I love them!
I practically the only dancer left (as some of the others have now quit recently) that does stage shows for Bucks Parties. Good ones by the way not mediocre ones like some other dancers will do.
I wish I could slap the customers however I'm not allowed to... "it doesn't look good" and I would get told off. If we have a problem customer, we tell one of the hostesses who then decides what to do with him (tell other dancers to avoid him and leave him be or get his escorted out of the club).
-
Re: Vent- Obnoxious customers
In my old club, we were given free reign to defend ourselves as necessary (no idea what the rules are at the new club, but I doubt people will bite dancers on stage). So the gal who smacked a Mr. Grabby Asshole who didn't want to pay would have been given a talking to, but Emily (the kicking customer) would have been just fine with giving that jerk a boot to the face.
I've been bitten seven times, in some very delicate areas. I can attest that the first instinct is to lash out until they get their teeth far, far away from you.

Re: Vent- Obnoxious customers
Emily and Lilith,
You've certainly had bad days. Emily, no one is allowed to strike another. You or the customer. Any physical strike constitutes abuse whether in self defense or not. Technically you're only authorized to use enough force to escape the attacker. If someone strikes you immediately escape and report it to a bouncer. They are authorized to use force. Let them deal with it.
Lilith, it is a shame that people do act with such bad manners. Remember that you do have the right to refuse service to anyone who continually abuses the posted rules. It is a tough job considering your target market is with people that society basicly chooses not to acknowledge and sweep under the rug.
If you're up to the task , feel that your money is well earned. The minute you feel you cannot take it , it's time to switch jobs rather than become resentful.

Re: Vent- Obnoxious customers
Ok my turn to vent. I was doing a lap dance once for a guy who I thought was a respectful customer, I do this thing where I'm straddling the customer, facing away and I put my arms on the floor and gyrate. So my butt is pretty much in their face. Well I went to do that and stick my butt in his face and he bite my ass! I don't mean gently either, I had a nasty bruise for weeks! I turned around and stuck my stilleto right in his chest and proceeded to tell him if he did it again he wouldn't have teeth to bite with anymore. I went on with the dance and he didn't even come close to touching me again and he bought 4 more dances. 8)
I was on stage once and Mr. Cocky-I-Have-So-Much-Money Guy puts a 5 on the stage and whispers in my ear that he could own my little slutty ass all night. I put my foot under the seat of his chair and knocked his ass over, then blew his money off the stage and said I don't need your money and please you couldn't have enough money to own me, nobody could own me. Then a women came up to the stage and gave me $10 just for putting his ass in check.
Those are the only times that something bad has happened and I've done something drastic about it and something good came out of it. I usually just let the bouncers handle it.

Im sorry you girls have been having such bad nights, I hope they start looking up for you. I try to think of the positive nights I had when Im having bad nights like that, doesn't work all the time but hey worth a try ;)

Dreamer~
In light of the fact that you are one of those customers who have been slapped for taking liberties, and are currently debating on why you should be allowed to do so without repercussions of any sort, I find you to be less than neutral on this subject.
"Any physical strike constitutes abuse whether in self defense or not. "
Yet you seem to approve of a bouncer using force, saying that they have "authorization" to do so. My opinion is that your ego is still stinging from having taken a blow from a girl (literally and figuratively). Would you feel the same if a stranger licked his grocery store clerk and she responded by macing him?
For the record, and this is straight from the lips of my local police department, any dancer has the right to defend her person in whatever manner she deems necessary. Walking away and fetching the bouncer are all acceptable. Also acceptable is using force yourself, in direct correlation to the assault commited upon your person. If someone licks you, you are legally permitted to slap them (once only). If someone bites you, you may slap them (as many times as necessary to make them release you). If someone stiffs you on payment, then you may not slap them as no assault has been commited.
You may not walk away to fetch the bouncer and THEN slap them, as your person is no longer in danger. You may not walk away to fetch your brass knuckles and THEN administer chastisement. But a bite or lick followed immediately by a slap is and has always been considered legal self defense.
Naturally, this may not be the course of prudence, which is why we have bouncers. Any cad who would lick, bite or otherwise assault a woman in public would be likely to stoop even further.

Re: Vent- Obnoxious customers
God I love stripper web! It's like when I'm feeling like no one understands about me and my job I come here and spend hours reading the posts you girls have made. It always makes me feel better mentally and physically. Every one's already took the words right out of my mouth! All of the above has happened to me. I've had nothing but bad nights to I've decided to move my shift to the weekend. I feel like I have to deal with tougher situations during the weeks since it's slow. But on the weekend it's packed so I can turn around and walk away from the rude guy. ;)

We are debating whether or not you should be allowed excessive force as repercussions for people taking liberties, not whether or not people should be allowed liberties without repercussion.
Being that you feel physical force is justified in any case reguardless of injury (physical or emotional, real or perceived), I find you to be less than neutral on this subject.
Quote:
"Any physical strike constitutes abuse whether in self defense or not. "
That is by state law not by my opinion. If you don't believe me then try it and see where it lands you.
Quote:
Yet you seem to approve of a bouncer using force, saying that they have "authorization" to do so. My opinion is that your ego is still stinging from having taken a blow from a girl (literally and figuratively).
That's because bouncers are authorized to use force . They are licensed to practice restraining techniques and are bound themselves by restrictions. That's why those matters should be handled by them instead of taking the matter into you own hands.
Quote:
Would you feel the same if a stranger licked his grocery store clerk and she responded by macing him?
Absolutely, if the store clerk obtained the mace legally she should understand the terms of it's usage. The stranger has the right to sue her.
Quote:

Direct correlation to a lick is to lick them back. Who figured that it was a slap? What is the correlation to a slap then--a punch , an elbow , a kick?
Quote:
If someone bites you, you may slap them (as many times as necessary to make them release you).
Now that's a different case. You're allowed to use any amount of force if you are continually assualted(ie. he doesn't let go). If someone bites you that is bloodletting, you can transmit diseases that way. you would be right to the amount of force to escape the offender.
Quote:
But a bite or lick followed immediately by a slap is and has always been considered legal self defense.
A bite but not a lick and that is by a local law enforcer quote . Unless the laws of your state vary from mine.
Last note. Do you think that I like it that if I strike someone back after they struck me I could go to prison? Do you think that I like it that I get the same penalty acting in self defense as someone assualting me? If someone attacks me I'm required to flee as alternative to subduing the offender. That's the whole crux of it. Everyone has to act in restraint. No I don't believe what I did was right it the context of events but I don't believe the offended has the right to act without restraint either.
You can refuse service to me but if you continue to believe you have unlimited rights to force then one of these days you will wind up in a cell and your club closed down.
