Fired For Drinking! Please Help
I'm a 20 yr old stripper who just got fired from the only good club around for drinking. I was told a few times not to but saw other girls doing it and getting away with it all the time. I just got fired! I NEED the money for tuition and I swear to God now that I've gotten caught I will NEVER do it again. If you have any advice on how I can get my job back Please Help ME!!! Anything will help... Thank you so much

Re: Fired For Drinking! Please Help
And as far as copying other girls, please don't do it. If all the girls acted dirty at a clean club, I wouldn't do it, why should drinking or anything else for that matter, be the same? It's just giving in to peer pressure. The management were justified in firing you, the only unlucky part was that the other girls didn't get caught and you did.
From what I've read around here, lots of clubs do this whole "you're fired-rehired" business. It's a strange concept. I don't know where the thread for it is but if you do some searching or even another member lets you know where it is, it might be of help.
Anyway, I guess you just have to be sincere that you won't do it again. Like you said, it was one of the best clubs and good clubs alike tend to have a lower tolerance level than most, especially if you've been warned. But what I'd do is wait it out for a while. I guess you've got to do something else inbetween to get the money. Then if you desperately want to go back, try again. They may have forgotten, who knows? But if they haven't, at least tell them you've learnt your lesson but don't grovel. If they ever take you back, they'll have more of a reason to diss you you coz you've already shown to be 'at their mercy' so to speak.
Anyway, sorry for the long speel. Just don't get so down over it honey. It's just one of life's lessons, we all go through sh*tty situations, our fault or not. Try and learn from the experience and move on. :)

I'm from Providence RI and I got fired from the Foxy Lady. I feel like the dumbest girl ever... thank you for all of the replys so far :'(

Re: Fired For Drinking! Please Help
All the times I've ever seen a girl get fired for whatever, drinking, drugs, extras, fighting--95% of the time she's back at work a week later. I'd go back, apoligize, promise not to drink again until you are of age, and ask for your job back.

Re: Fired For Drinking! Please Help
you are not dumb ...dont be so hard on yourself it was just a mistake that you made that hopefully you'll learn from as mariah said you might be able to get back in...yea i know rhode island they have a limited amount of clubs there ...good luck..be careful next time

Re: Fired For Drinking! Please Help
Well, since your under age wouldn't you have realized that on your own. The other girls are probably over 21. I am 21 and have been in your position. Most bars would let me, but a certain one didn't. I snuck one drink. They pulled me aside and told me it was because they would get in trouble. If I left and got in an accident, or if the police came in. The bar could lose their alcohol liscense. I don't think it's worth it to them to let one stripper drink a few drinks. Just go in before hours and try to talk to the manager that fired you. Explain that you realize now that you having a drink isn't worth them losing there bar.

If worst comes to worst, there's always Fantasies!
It seems that lots of strip clubs which serve alcohol are starting to draw extra attention from state alcohol licensing agencies lately. The entire issue of businesses with a liquor license being able to legally hire people who are under the legal drinking age has never really been tested in the courts. Many restaurants, bars and clubs with liquor licenses are really tightening up on hiring only people who are 21, to avoid potential problems such as you just caused.

Re: Fired For Drinking! Please Help
A couple of years ago when I was underage and still working in Buffalo, I also got fired for drinking. My customer bought a round of shots but I had to go into the bathroom to do it because everyone knew i was underage. So after I did the shot the other shot girl walked in and I accidently dropped the empty shot container, anyway, she saw it and ratted me out to the manager. So I was called into the kitchen, where the manager smelled alcohol on my breath and sent me home. He told me not to come back until the owner called me. All in all, I was hired back like a week later, and then I quit and started working at another club anyway. I had to apologize to the owner, but it was't that big a deal...several girls got fired and rehired for doing drugs, which is a lot worse than sneaking a measily little drink.

Re: Fired For Drinking! Please Help
Theresa, believe it or not, from a clubowner's standpoint drinking while underage is much more serious than doing drugs. If a dancer is caught doing drugs, the clubowner can plead ignorance plus point out that the club had nothing whatsoever to do with supplying the drugs - basically zero impact on the club's business. However, if a dancer is caught drinking underage, the club can be held directly responsible for supplying alcohol to minors and can have their liquor license suspended - resulting in a major negative impact on the club's business.

Re: Fired For Drinking! Please Help
I know most any job you can't drink while you are working. It's easy for me to resist drinking at an office job cause there are not tons of people around me getting drinks, or offering me drinks.
I don't know how you ladies resist sometimes. I don't drink that often, but if I was around people that were always getting drinks, I would really be tempted...
That's all. Just my thoughts.
Tyler.

Re: Fired For Drinking! Please Help
The ability to sell liquor at FL is worth a tremendous amount of money. Do not be surprised if they are hard asses about your putting it at risk for days. Since the fire every inspector in town is likely breathing down everyones' neck.

Probably because we are in that atmosphere every night. To us it's not weird to be able to get drunk on the job.
As for me, I make better $$ sober. I like money better than getting drunk!

Re: Fired For Drinking! Please Help
That happened to me too, Blazn. ::) My manager told me to "call him in a week." I did call him and he hired me back, but I still got a 2 week "suspension." My manager does a lot of the firing/rehiring thing. The only thing that you have really working against you is that you are underage. Give it a few days, then go in and try to be sincere and assure the manager that it will never happen again. Also, it kinda sucks but flattery works well too. "I love this club," "best money I've ever made was here.." blah blah blah. Owners/managers eat that sh*t up. Good luck hun.

Re: Fired For Drinking! Please Help
Blazn, I'm surprised you'd say that Foxy Lady is "the only good club around" in Providence. Have you checked out Cadillac Lounge, Club Fantasies, etc.? If you want an upscale non-contact club, there's Centerfolds in Boston and numerous other choices in Massachusetts. If you can't go back to Foxy Lady there are probably more options than you think.

Re: Fired For Drinking! Please Help
Thank You everyone for posting. I've decided to not to try to return to that Club until I am 21. It was fair for them to fire me and I would feel like a burden upon them if they always had to watch me. Hopefully 11 months is a long enough "cooling off" period! On a good note, a waitress friend of mine told me that the owner approached her and said "The day your friend turns 21 I'll personally pour a whole bottle of campaigne down her throat for her." The people there are so respectful and fun to work with that I just owe it to them to wait. Thank You again for all the posts. They really helped! : :)

Re: Fired For Drinking! Please Help
girl i can relate to that in a so-so fashion. i am always 20 yrs old. i have drank at my club but i know what's going on at all times though. as far as i can say, don't always do what the other girls are doing bcuz it will just get you in trouble even more. wait til you are 21 to drink bcuz believe it or not the girls that drink the most are not always making the most money, when you have a clear head on your shoulders you are going to make more money than the drunk girl that is about to pass out on her customer. don't get sucked in to everything that's how you get in trouble. just keep your head up!

Re: Fired For Drinking! Please Help

I have to second what lana707 said. The customers are turned off by a dancer who's three sheets to the wind. A group of girls went on break and when they returned, one of them was so toast that she was stumbling all over the place, falling on me before being carried into the dressing room. I was sitting with a customer making small talk while he was waiting for her. At that point he turned to me and told me that he was discusted by her actions. After a while, I was on stage. He came up to me and asked me for a dance when I'm done with stage.
That is why I shun alcohol at work.

Re:Fired For Drinking! Please Help
have any of you girls heard about being fined instead of being suspended, because i didnt get fired but i think i gotta pay 100 bucks....????
-
Re:Fired For Drinking! Please Help
They fire her mainly because of age. Lots of clubs get raided and if a girl under the age of 21 is drinking. A club would be in alot of trouble, probably would get closed down. I dont think a club would fine you. The cops maybe.

Re:Fired For Drinking! Please Help
I dont think you have to wait 11 months to call them back. Just call them and tell them you learned your lesson. (wait a week) AND MEAN IT. :) Just dont drink while you are there, ya know??? Good luck
-
Re:Fired For Drinking! Please Help
I agree with Lexi..11 months is avery long to wait..think of ALL the money you'll be missing out on.
