I can't seem to get the hang of this....
I've been dancing for six years and never worked at a hustle bar. My club opened a VIP room with contact dances in Marcj. Whil;e I don't have a problem giving dances (I've been told that I give a very good dance, a few guys have even showed their appreciation [winky]), I can't seem to ask for dances.
I have no problem sitting and talking the usualBS with customers, I just can't get up the nerve to ask for dances, I'm afraid of being told no, fear of rejection. Last night I went into work determined to get off of my ass and hustle but I couldn't bring myself to do it.
Any suggestions on how to get past this?
Re: I can't seem to get the hang of this....
Some girls don't like to hustle, especially if they're not getting paid to hustle dances and drinks. I try not to hustle the club I work at (and getting ready to quit) because they don't pay me enough to make them bullshit ass sissy drinks. I rather be at a club where I'm making VIP dances and champagne rooms. [winky]

Wow six years in the biz and never had to ask for a dance! What clubs were these ?
You can handle it I'm sure- just go for it ! At the end of the night you'll be counting your money and not even thinking about those guys who were fool enough to tell you no. ;)
Re: I can't seem to get the hang of this....
Really, I want to work where she works not having to ask for dances and still brings home money! JK :P This is what the business is all about! Hustling and ASKING for dances. That's our job. It sounds like you already have the hustle part down, you just need to ask them for a dance in a sexy way right after a good little conversation. Go to the hustle hut and get some tips on how to ask guys for dances. The girls have some really great lines that makes it hard for a guy to say no!
Re: I can't seem to get the hang of this....
i know exactly how you feel... i've only been dancing for like a little over a month... and i HATE asking for dances... especially when i talk to them... i feel kinda bad... it's weird...i wait for them to ask me... as a result of this i don't make as much money as the other girls... anyone have any tips for getting over this?

Re: I can't seem to get the hang of this....
once u start seeing all the money...you'll be asking everyone...i guess the difference with me is i freelance...i havent been on schedule for four years...i pay to work at the club...so i figure if i'm paying i'm asking EVERYBODY for a dance!
Re: I can't seem to get the hang of this....
i wish i was that lucky not tobe able to ask for dances but as the other girls say once you get into it and see how much more money there is out there i bet you will start asking for dances ... you realize you not asking guys for dances is the same as guys not coming over to you to ask for dances.....
Re: I can't seem to get the hang of this....
Also, keep in mind. It is what they came for and they expect you to ask. If you are walking around a car dealership, you have to expect a salesperson to approach you. They expect you to ask for dances. Do it!
Re: I can't seem to get the hang of this....
i have a hard time asking for dances too.. unless i have had a few drinks.. hahah
problem in my club is its supposed to be no contact but all the girl sit adn grind away... i dont really like to do that.. so i feel that if i ask a guy if he wants a dance thats what he expects..
Re: I can't seem to get the hang of this....
I used to work in a non-hustle club and it was hard for me to ask for dances too. Now I work in Vegas, the epitomy of hustle. I agree with the other girls when they say once you see how much money you make when you hustle, it gets easier and easier. Don't spend too much time talking to the guy before you ask. One or two songs and thats it. If he says no don't waste your time. Tell him it was nice talking to him and to have a good night and move on to the next guy.
Re: I can't seem to get the hang of this....
I suppose that you're an IC so it's evident that you have to hustle in order to make money. If you got paid for drinks or otherwise maybe it wouldn't be a problem.
Re: I can't seem to get the hang of this....
Thanks for the advice! I've got to just ask and be damned if the tell me no! ;D

All the bars I've worked at have been stage dances, go-go bars. In my area clubs have just started having VIP rooms with contact dances over the past year, year and a half. My current club has only had the VIP room open since March. I have a few customers who I know I can ask for dances but it's the strangers that I have a problem with.
There is only one club left in the city that doesn't have a VIP room and the girls don't have to hustle, and they still make decent money.
