Ever tried wearing less make-up?
Last night was my best night in quite a while, oddly enough, I looked all plain jane because I'd forgotten my make-up bag at home. All I had with me was mascara and lip gloss; I don't like begging around the dressing room for make-up like a bum so I went without. Was it just a coincidence that I did so well, or am I really laying the war paint on too thick?
I love the way I look all made up; but there have been a few guys that I've run into outside of the club that have commented on how much younger I look compared with how I look at work. I apply my make-up like a M.A.C. make-up artist and I'm proud of my art; but hell if it's hurting my money than it may be time to give it up.
So ladies my question is, have you tried going bare? If so than how did you do?
Guys, Do you tend to prefrer the made up porn star look, or a more natural looking stripper?
Re: Ever tried wearing less make-up?
Natural for me. Besides, depending on the rules of the particular club, I've sometimes had a makeup smear on my clothing, and that's not so good.
Makeup artfully applied is nice. But to me the porn star look makes the lady look more unapproachable. Friendly girl-next-door, without makeup, may not be so art-pretty, but she might feel like someone a guy could imagine rolling around with more.
I hope I'm making sense. In any event, glad you had a good night!
Re: Ever tried wearing less make-up?
I wear less, it makes you look younger. Especially the older you get.
PS my new pic. in the gallery with my new hair, i have no makup on at all, and slightly wet hair. Thank god it was kinda dark in here.
Pamela. BUt i don't think i look that bad at all without ahint of makeup on. Too much makes me look older. Less is best!

Re: Ever tried wearing less make-up?
I CAN'T pull off the porn star look. I think my face is just to young for it, or maybe it's just me. I wear my everyday make-up a little bit heavier and my hair the same as I do everyday.
Re: Ever tried wearing less make-up?
I wore the more natural look in KS. It didn't work for me in Vegas. I wear the porn star look I guess, but I don't over do it. At my club it seems like some of the girls aren't wearing any or do their hair. It doesn't look like they go for the natural look, it likes like they aren't even trying. I'd say its a fair mix of the not trying girls, the natural look girls, and the glam look girls. My club is a very dark club. I have to sit and let my eyes adjust when I first walk in, so I definitely have to wear more makeup just so my features show up.
Re: Ever tried wearing less make-up?
I started doing less makeup recently and my money has been really good. It is a less makeup *look*, though: I stay as light as possible but keep checking it in low light as I get ready to see where I need some emphasis.
Re: Ever tried wearing less make-up?
I've done the natural thing with good results. I think men really do like to see less make-up on girls. Especially if the girl is a real natural beauty. I have great features but icky skin. So I have to wear foundation, concelor, and powder. Once I've done all that, I already feel made-up and end up doing the rest of it. I think I prefer the porn star look.
Re: Ever tried wearing less make-up?
I agree with Pamela, less makeup makes you look younger especially as we hit our 30's. One of my best nights was when I didn't have a lick of makeup on, didn't brush my hair all night. Ironically, I was so busy I never took the time to reapply deoderant or body spray. And it didn't hurt my earnings one bit. Maybe they LIKED me au natural but I prefer the porn star look.
Re: Ever tried wearing less make-up?
I've done just about all levels of makeup from just lip gloss to complete look altering theatrical makeup. Other than my own outlook, I can't really say that the makeup made a big difference money wise. But, it sure was fun to see an asian looking me, in the mirror! (That just took too long to do very often.)
Re: Ever tried wearing less make-up?
I have gone in wearing brown eyelashes and taupe eyeliner. It does make me look younger. i actually had guys think that I was too young. Part of that could have been because of my bimbo act though. I am such a pale person by nature that I really need to wear makeup. I actually have to put mascara on my eyebrows over my eyebrow liner. If you have darker features naturally then you can probably get away with wearing less.
Re: Ever tried wearing less make-up?
Less is definitely more for me. I think a good foundation that covers without looking all made-up, eyeliner and shadows in more natural, earthy colors, a little blush and lipgloss would probably work for most. I've tried it all, from nothing but mascara and lipgloss to heavily made-up, and the best for me has always been the middle ground I described above - enough to conceal flaws and accent features, but not so heavy or dark to look 'painted'. More makeup does make us look older - only good for the REALLY young girls.
BUT, like Kobi, when I danced in Vegas I also found I needed to go heavier, more glam. Heavier on the eyes, shiny, sparkly, more lipstick, etc. But that's Vegas. I think everyone expects more glitz there.

Less is more.
Most women look better with a bit of makeup, but I hate seeing it caked on a woman's face.
You look great naturally... don't ruin it with all that paint! ;)
Re: Ever tried wearing less make-up?
I never try to pull off the porn star look too much because I'm known as the "exotic babydoll" at my club. So, I gotta keep up with the name I got. :-* ;)
Re: Ever tried wearing less make-up?
Many guys never have said anything about me wearing too much make-up, till they see me put it on. Then they all trip out, why are you doing that to yourself, your so pretty, blah, blah, blah. I think seeing me put it on ruined it for them. :o
My friend, Amber, one of the biggest money makers at our club, wears SOOO much make-up that I'm surprised her face doesn't melt off when it rains. But every single guy has always said how gorgeous she is. Primarily how beautiful her face is. [what] Even our friends who know her outside of the club are "astonished by her beauty" my friend Brandon put it.
I don't understand that.

Re: Ever tried wearing less make-up?
I don't wear that much make-up. Personally I like the style of the 1940's. I bring out my lips and my rosey cheeks. I tried wearing alot of make-up at one point, but it did not go over so well!!
Re: Ever tried wearing less make-up?
I have to agree that less is more especially in our thirties. Dark eyeshadow and eye liner seem to accentuate bags and circles under the eye.
Instead of mascarra I use false eyelashes which never smear. I leave the bottom lashes alone. Lots of under eye concealer and high quality foundation, blush and powder. Lipliner and gloss. It's not not really 'less' makeup...just different. The natural look works best for me.
