Do the DJ'S Play Favorites?
Seems like more often that not the DJ on shift will introduce some girls with a little more "gusto" than others. Kind of like some girls get a better wind-up introduction... and better music.
Honestly, is a DJ needed?? (or at least one who talks). Plus you wouldn't have to tip out so much....
just what me thinks :)
Re: Do the DJ'S Play Favorites?

The place I am hoping to work at let's the girls pick their own sets, so the favoritism with music would hardly ever come into play.
The reason some girls may get a better intro can vary... think about it:
1) Some girls the DJ will find more attractive than others. This is human nature. In many cases it's probably not that the DJ dislikes some girl and wants to give her a BAD intro, it's just easier for him to find something special about another girl and give her a better intro.
2) Tipouts can probably affect how you are treated by the DJ ;)
Equality doesn't exist. If they made YOU DJ tomorrow, you would probably introduce the girls you liked better than the ones you didn't like or didn't feel one way or the other for. Even it you didn't MEAN to do it, it likely would happen.

I am naturally biased but, yes, a DJ is needed in most clubs. He's the voice of the club and besides, who would you girls complain to about all the losers you are forced to deal with every day if the DJ was not there? LOL
Who would know your stage name if the DJ is not talking you on to the stage? Would the customer ask for a private dance with "Blonde #3"?
Who would make sure the girls have their music lined up and are ready to go on stage on time?
Also, the DJ is responsible for running the lights and any other gadgets (smoke, fog, etc.) you may have in the club. The manager, bartender, etc. are usually too busy to handle these things.
HENCE... the DJ :D
Re: Do the DJ'S Play Favorites?
I have to agree... the DJ's are pretty annoying (not all, but many). I would much rather the girl pop in her favorite cd and then introduce herself! This way it's more personable-- I mean what's sexier, a DJ hollaring that you're up on stage two, or a sweet voice?
On the other hand Eibon you have a point, guess you need someone to man the smoke and lights.
Re: Do the DJ'S Play Favorites?
guys aren't listening to our stage names! trust me!
anyway, I agree a DJ is needed to make sure everyone is on stage in order. there are lots of times I will ask the DJ to skip me because I'm doing dances. You need someone watching over all this.
And I think they do play favorites and hype some dancers up more than others, but the difference isn't really that much.
Re: Do the DJ'S Play Favorites?
If the DJ is one-of-those "SUNday! SUNday! SUNDAY!!! (insert truckpole voice) or reminiscent of a bad 1980's wedding (insert Bob Segar's "Ol' Time Rock N' Roll" here)... [pimp]I make no attempt to win him over... by tipout or unnecessary conversation. **In my mind these types are potentially delusional enough to think he could hook up with me... or any of my Stripper Sistas.
On the OTHER hand - There is another breed of DJ's that are... Well, I'll just say it... COOL AS FUCK. Who else understands:
1. Tips are the essence of stripclub survivial
2. That I look sexy dancing to Coldplay's "The Scientist"?
3. Managers can be a little shady at times :-/
4. We're not just here to have a good time --- but let's make it one anyway!
I try to determine what type I have an tipout accordingly.
I have the DJ from heaven right now. He is so responsive to my stage shows that he'll ask to experiment new songs and I know that if I hear them again --- I must have done something right! (He has the catbird seat in the house! [oogle] )
In conclusion... Do DJs play favorites? IMO - Absolutely... :D
Re: Do the DJ'S Play Favorites?
PS - Props to Bob Segar. This Michigan girl loves her Uncle Bob but (IMO) that songs needs to be put to pasture...
[cheers]
