Let me know if any of you are joining. I'd be interested!
I'm not from the L.A. area but I can give my review of strip classes in general. I've attended 3 strip classes for men as well as for women. I'll withold the names to avoid damaging anyones reputation.
Some schools are not career orientated. Some are just for self-esteem, fun, spicing up your married life etc. THey all accomplish creating a safe space to express yourself but many are only for beginners. It's important that you get over your initial shyness of being before a group but many don't take it much farther than that.
For the price you pay $60. and up you would learn more at a salsa class than there. It's really no wonder that most dancers did not start off in one of these schools. I'd think you'd better off spending the same money at a cardio-strip class at your local gym.
If you do intend on making this your occupation and are considering a school then the questions I would ask of them are who are your students that are working in the field now? How many professionals have you produced? How long have you worked in the business?
Then I'd take their references and see the dancer myself and determine if I liked what they did, is it worth while, is it something I'd like to pursue?
Maybe you will come up with better reviews than i do.
Has anyone heard, supposedly they are teaching pole dancing in certain gyms in L.A. It's for women only. I don't know what clubs can afford a room with poles installed and is still discreet at the same time.
