Are amateur contests rigged?
There are only a few clubs that I know of in L.A. that will not hire fat, hooker ugs. I really need to be in a nice place. Last night I had a fat ug try to slam a chair over my head. She has spent the last 2 weeks picking on me. From what I hear she always finds someone to pick on; especially now days, when it is so tough for anyone to make money.
The nice clubs require everyone to do an amateur contest in order to be hired. I am not good on stage and I lack the strength to do all of those fancy pole tricks. I choose to put my focus on selling dances because there is not much money to be made on stage and of course I have no control of how many times I can go on stage to make a couple of bucks.
The other day I heard that all of those amateur contests are rigged. Is that true?
Does anyone have any advice for me?
Re: Are amateur contests rigged?
They typically go by crowd reaction. How else does Miss Fat and Nasty win? Your best bet? Bring a whole bunch of friends to cheer for you. Seriously.
What are the clubs that DON'T hire fat ugly hookers? I'm always looking for a fresh place to travel to, even if it's just up the freeway.
Re: Are amateur contests rigged?
I have done a few amateur contests and often they are rigged in some way. There are usually one or two girls that have brought a gazillion friends to the bar, sometimes girls know people who work at the bar, or even girls that used to dance at that bar....they ALWAYS win. If you don't have a field of girls that have inside connections to the bar, then usually I have seen the girls with implants win. Or girls that can do lots of pole tricks, even if they are unattractive. It just depends...but I would agree that most contests are rigged in some fashion.
Re: Are amateur contests rigged?
We have them alot , especially now here in Florida. Some are rigged yes! That is what i believe.
Best bet bring every friend and relative you know, they base these contests on the crowd cheering method! Watched one a few weeks ago. Bikini contest, believe me you would not have picked her! But i noticed the crowd was yelling and screaming her name when she went up. Sure give away! Her name ? And one guy set up the stage!!!
Clapping and yelling yes, but i don't care for the name yelling to win.
Re: Are amateur contests rigged?
In the northeast, most so called "amateur" contests are merely organized weekly/monthly auditions for clubs, with the clubs using the contest gimmick to attract extra customers. Half of the "contestants" are experienced dancers. Clubowners routinely pick winners and runner-ups based on the characteristics of the girl matching the characteristics the clubowner wants in a new dancer.
Re: Are amateur contests rigged?
Most are rigged or are simply auditions and the so called $500 or $1000 cash prize is split up among six girls or whatever. One club, semi crappy little club, has a real amateur contest. The two girls that won had never hit a stage in their life and looked like they had practiced in the mirror at home. First prize got $500 cash, 2nd got $250 cash and because they had made a mistake between 2nd and 3rd adding up points, they didn't make the 3rd place girl give her 2nd place money up. Both goth $250 and they gave a fourth girl $150. All of them were true amateurs and I really liked that idea. It drew a huge crowd and everyone who didn't win was offered a job. U would never expect this from a little Midwest club in the middle of nowhere.
Re: Are amateur contests rigged?
I have only been in one contest in LA. Funny thing, I didn't even realize it would be a contest. I just thought it was an audition. All I really wanted was a job. This was at CLOZ in the valley, in LA.
There were about 12 girls. It seemed pretty fair to me. I drew the second straw so by the time I went out there to be judged, all the guys that saw me dance were gone. :-/
I made good money on my stage set and I got a job. The girl who won was cute and not very thin, but she was attractive. The 2nd place was a thin, natural blonde girl who frequented contests. Now the 3rd. This was interesting. Facially, she wasn't bad, but she had had a couple of kids, recently and had not taken care of herself. She could not have been over 23. She had the saggiest, I mean bags of luggage, thighs I have seen in years!! She had breasts to match. The limp sock kind. She wore a bit too much make up....but she was really nice and energetic. She just went out there with so much enthusiasm, that she took third place :-*
I didn't see her working there, but I do remember the guys yelling a lot when she walked byduring the judging of the contest.
I am not saying I'm all that, but a guy at my gym thought I was this petite weight USA champion kick boxer chick, so I am in pretty good shape, but the girl I was standing next to looked like Uma Thurman!! Uma Thurman! And she didn't place.
I am rambling, but I think the place is fair and sometimes a great attitude will speak volumes.
Cheers,
Corey
Re: Are amateur contests rigged?
I work in LA, and even though I have never been to an amateur contest I had considered it once, not really the $ to be won but for a job. I hear a lot of "hard-core" strippers usually go to get the money. What I mean is, girl's who are very pretty and are awesome on stage with very fancy pole tricks. I have also been told that a lot are rigged.
Re: Are amateur contests rigged?
I personally hate the whole concept of the "Amature Contest". It does nothing for the girl's that already work for me. They get to sit around for the hour or two it take's to run it, while of coarse the club is at it's busiest because the customer's came to see the contest. Shortly after which, they will leave!!!! So my girl's don't make any money for 2 hour's. If your lucky, maybe one or two girl's will " actually be " amature's and not girl's from other club's lookin for a phat payout for like 15 minute's of work, with no intention of ever working at your club to start with. Even going as far as to advertise that they work down the road to customer's and in the end trying to take the guy's that would be there reguardless of the contest away. The event itself is financially gratifing to the club, but I don't think the long term effect is worth it. My girl's would stand to lose out the night of the contest and possably longer term if customer's follow " dancer " contestent's to there respective club's. I won't even let girl's try-out on a weekend, I make them come in on a Tuesday when it's slow, I figure if there serious about a job they will wait. My girl's work hard and they deserve all the attention " THEY ARE THE SHOW" ..... then again I don't hire feature's for the same reason. I feel thing's like that are fast money maker's for the club but have little or no effect on my girl's purse's. This may not be the case over all, but my girl's also know that I'm all about them and not the bottom line of the club ( if there getting there's I'm gettin mine too ) so they feel that much more secure with there position's here. My girl's work with me, not for me and that's a hard relationship to attain.
Re: Are amateur contests rigged?
They really are pointless crazybob. Sure some guys may want to come in and check it out. If they are rigging, wtf. IT's not even a contest but nothing more than a waste of time and a rip off. Girls are spending their time, buying great outfits, bathingsuits, whatever in hopes of winning. I see them alot, i feel sorry for the girls.
I have yet to see one at our club get hired because of her looks, moves or attitude while on stage trying her best to win. They all leave.
If they are going to be fixed they should be banned! Yep and club girls come to a halt.
The club i am at has had only 2, wed. night. I don't work :)
I watch the ones at hooters, just as bad. No ones buying, and hotoers looses money for the hour this "event" is going on. Because everyone is out in the parking lot watching. The girls inside get pissed.
Ok, i am done. Pamela
Re: Are amateur contests rigged
I knnow they are not rigged here but have done a few in Minneapolis that I thought were. What has been said about the girls working that night losing money is VERY true. We have one here once a month and it's very hard to get dances because everyone wants to see the amateurs. Our amateurs are just that thought (usually) we don't have another good club for miles away and if the girl has ever worked here (which they would have if they were real dancers (usually), they are not allowed in the contest. The audience members do the judging. About 10 guys are selected from the crowd and write scores on a pre-made sheet based on costume, appearance, skill, etc. Usually the girls decide in advance to just split all of the prize money so it doesn't really matter who wins although we still choose a winner.
Most contests, you don't have to win or place to get a job, you just have to be what the club is looking for. So I would say if you are looking for a job, treat it like an audition and maybe you can win some prize money too. Good luck!
Re: Are amateur contests rigged?
from most clubowners' standpoint, so-called amateur contests are a way to draw potential new/extra customers into the club. These new/extra guys pay the cover charge and buy the drink minimum. If the club doesn't collect a large percentage of private dance money, this means that the fact these new/extra customers spend 100% of their time at the stage and 0% of their time and money in the private dance area does not negatively impact the club earnings (even though it DEFINITELY has a negative impact on earnings of existing dancers during the contest).
Re: Are amateur contests rigged?
Same for features, and pics. of girls who don't actually work there, as well as dropping cover, ladies night, etc. Many ways to bring in new customers. Only a temp. way of making for a busy night, and the dancers who dance there loose out!
Many a club owner will not have these contests anymore, for that very reason. It backfires. You will lose your dancers, if they stand around for a few hours while guys ogle contestants. Who never get hired. Maybe some, very few.
The "fake" pictures are the ones that really make me laugh.
Re: Are amateur contests rigged?
A former boss of mine and a strip club owner came into my new club and asked me to go to his club and a sunday a win the amateur contest. So, from what I can see they are rigged.
